Hitlist Granted J$80,000 Bail


Upcoming dancehall artiste Marlon Lawrence also known as 'Hitlist' has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman and is facing additional charges of rape and abduction.

Lawrence who appeared before the Spanish Town Criminal court on Tuesday, February 3rd was granted bail in the sum of J$80,000.00 when his case was mentioned.

While making the application for bail Earl Hamilton, Mr. Lawrence's legal counsel asked the court not to confiscate his client's travel documents as he is schedule to embark on a tour of Africa next month (March).

According to reports reaching 876radio.com the court was told that the twenty nine (29) year-old entertainer on January 12, 2009 offered the complainant a nineteen (19) year-old girl a ride and she was subsequently taken to a hotel in Port Henderson, Portmore, St. Catherine against her will and sexually assaulted.

Three hours later after the ordeal she was allowed to leave at which point she reported the incident to the Spanish Town Police which lead to his arrest days later in the vicinity of a recording studio on St. John Road in the old capital.

Hitlist is scheduled to return to court in April to answer the charges.
