A man who held a teenager at knifepoint and abducted and raped her was sentenced to a total of 25 years at hard labour in the St Catherine Circuit Court yesterday.
The man, who is a resident of Passagefort in Portmore, was sentenced by Justice Raymund King.
Detective Constable Llewellyn Madden of the Waterford Police Station said that on the day in question, the 39-year-old man went to the house of the teenager, used a machete and a knife to force her from her home to another house, where she was raped.
He was sentenced to 15 years at hard labour for rape, seven years for abduction, and three years for indecent assault. The sentences are to run concurrently, meaning that he will serve 15 years.
