A man accused of beating his wife because she accused him of having another woman, apologised when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Charged with unlawful wounding is Lennox Campbell.
The complainant told the court that they had an argument stemming from her accusations of infidelity. She said she told him not to lie to her and asked if he was cheating and was hit in the head and on the foot with a bottle.
The accused, however, told the court that he was at home watching TV when his wife started accusing him of cheating. He said she bit him and ran under the bed. He explained that he was drinking from a bottle and threw it under the bed and it hit her.
Campbell revealed that they had been married for six years and have two children ages three and six. Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brown asked the accused how his daughters would feel if they knew he had hit their mother and he replied "bad".
The complainant told the court that for the sake of the children, she was willing to give the accused another chance. She, however, requested a restraining order and admitted that she was afraid of him. Senior RM Brown warned him, "If you come back before me again, make sure to pack your little bag."
Campbell was placed on probation for 12 month and was ordered to live elsewhere.
This is the kinda thing I can't tolerate with females. They are victims of domestic abuse yet they always end up dropping the charges. When he kill her ra** another time now it's gonna be something different. She needs to wake up and think for her kids becuase with the way things are going she might end up dead and he in jail. Does she really want her kids to lose both parents????
