The employee of the National Housing Trust (NHT) who is allegedly involved in a $10-million racket at the agency is now in police custody.
The woman's identification is still being withheld as she is scheduled to face a number of identification parades.
She reportedly went missing after the racket was uncovered three weeks ago.
It is reported that she was picked up in the Fletcher's Land community of central Kingston on Saturday by members of the Fraud Squad.
Further reports are that she also had a large sum of money in her possession.
Police reports summarise that house seekers were fleeced of millions of dollars by the employee who promised to place persons atop the list of persons to get houses.
She urged persons to pay for her 'help' by claiming the houses were in high demand and were going fast.
When she failed to deliver on her promise, the prospective buyers became suspicious and reported the matter to the NHT, after which she was suspended and later disappeared.
The NHT conducted an initial investigation and in one instance found that a man had paid $2 million to the employee.
The racket so far is found to have amounted to more than $10 million.
The Fraud Squad is asking persons who paid money to the woman to come forward with any information they might have.
