Jennifer Hudson Engaged to Reality StarBy Us Magazine


The Oscar winner is engaged to I Love New York 2 star David "Punk" Otunga, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.

Otunga, a Harvard Law grad who has worked with Rev. Jesse Jackson's Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, popped the question on her 27th birthday.

The two have been dating for less than a year.

"I am very happy," Hudson told Usmagazine.com last month at a Dove event. "I don't think I have ever been happier."

Hudson, who rose to fame on American Idol, nabbed a Best Supporting Oscar in 2007 for Dreamgirls and recently starred in the Sex and the City movie.

Check out photos of Sex and the City stars before they were famous.

She returns to the big screen in the October drama The Secret Life of Bees, co-starring Dakota Fanning.

Her next album is due Sept. 30.
