DUTTY WINE DIDN'T KILL GIRL - Forensic test clears popular dance

After almost two years of waiting the once popular Dutty Wine dance has been cleared of all charges and has been found not guilty.

Forensic test has revealed that a woman who was said to have died in 2006 because she was doing the dance in fact died from a heart disease.

THE STAR was shown a document from the police Forensic Laboratory on Monday that revealed that the dance was not the cause of death for Tanisha Henry. Henry in fact died as a result of Acute Coronary Insufficiency and Cardiomyopathy, a heart disease.

Allegations had been that on October 29 of that year, at a dance in the Thompson Pen community, Henry collapsed and died while doing the then popular dance. The woman's death was followed by several calls for the accused dance to be banned. There were several discussions and forums and even the creators of the dance were chastised.

However after the forensic tests were done the results were returned to the police earlier this week.

When THE STAR contacted a relative of Henry he said that the wait for the results had been long and tedious. He said that they were glad that the family had some closure on the matter.
