Cash Plus boss, Carlos Hill, his brother, Bertram Hill and chief financial officer, Peter Wilson, had their bail conditions varied when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Fraud charges
All three are before the court on various fraud charges following the collapse of the multibillion-dollar alternative investment scheme in April. Carlos Hill is facing four counts of fraudulent conversion, four counts of obtaining money by false pretence and one count of conspiracy to defraud. His brother and Wilson are charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud.
Travel documents returned
Senior RM Glen Brown ordered that Bertram Hill's travel documents be returned to him so he could travel to the United States. However, he said that he should return the documents to the court when he returned to the island.
Meanwhile, the curfew order and the reporting conditions, which were put in as conditions of Hill's bail, were removed.
Carlos Hill is currently on $15 million bail, Bertram Hill on $10 million and Wilson is on $5 million bail bonds. When bail was granted, part of Carlos Hill's bail agreement was that he report to the Fraud Squad daily and remain at his house between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m.
The men's bails were extended until the next mention date of October 7.
