Nassau County Sheriff's Office booking photo of Phillip Tramine Wilson
A Jacksonville man who attempted to rip off 5 kilograms of cocaine from undercover members of the Drug Enforcement Administration narcotics task force was arrested on three felony charges, according to the Fernandina Beach Police Department. Police said Phillip Tramine Wilson, 27, agreed to purchase the cocaine for $100,000, but showed up to make the buy with only about $200. Fernandina Beach Capt. David Biship said that Wilson, a convicted felon, hoped to confuse the seller long enough to get away with the cocaine.
When the scheme failed, police said Wilson attempted to flee on foot. He was taken into custody within 30 seconds. Wilson was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting officers without violence.
