Even though Bounty Killer's manager, Julian Jones-Griffith, has shot down the idea that Bounty Killer or Mavado may attend this year's staging of Beenie Sizzle, the event organisers, Free People Entertainment continue to make special contingency plans for the Warlord's inclusion.
"We're trying to source a black tent that will comfortably house the Alliance members, and we have put out feelers and an ad trying to recruit six pro-Alliance girls to cater to and pamper Bounty and any members of the Alliance entourage who want to attend the show," Tameka Reynolds, marketing manager of Free People Entertainment told One876Entertainment.com.
"We want Bounty to be comfortable that is why we're going all out to make sure that his tastes are catered to should he change his mind and decide to attend. This is entertainment and we know that stars do change their minds, plus we would love to see an end to all the animosity and bitterness in our entertainment community," she said.
Girls who are interested in the job can call Free People Entertainment at 876-960-7008.
Last week, Beenie Man had told a STAR reporter that "I really want Mavado on the show, ah music me a deal wid, and mi really feel say di man fi get a piece a di Sizzle."
Beenie Man claims that he has been to Bounty Killers show on at least four occasions but that Bounty Killer has never reciprocated that act of goodwill by attending one of his shows. He made an ardent appeal to the Killer to put aside their differences for the sake of the industry, especially in a time when the industry is riven by internal conflicts and attacks from organized groups outside of Jamaica.
"The only way we can come together is for you to support me like I support you. But I would really appreciate if them forward still," Beenie was quote as saying.
The preliminary artiste line up for this year's Beenie Man Sizzle has been confirmed, and will include heavyweight names like Vybz Kartel, Ninjaman, Capleton, Coco Tea and Mr. Vegas.
"We will have a big surprise for you by Thursday as to whether Souljah Boy will attend, we are completing the negotiations now," Ms. Reynolds said.
The show, which will feature a mixture of dancehall, reggae and vintage acts is expected to unfold on August 6 at the Jamalco Sports Club in Clarendon. The stage show flyers and promotional billboards, notably the ones that were distributed backstage at Reggae Sumfest and featured on a mobile ad truck, do not feature (surprise surprise) any members of the Alliance.
However, the promotional flyers do include DAngel, showing that this show, if the Alliance shows up, could be about mending the rifts that have long affected the relationships between artisets in the dancehall arena.
In the meantime, Beenie Man has aggressively promoting the show ever since, voicing ads and contacting artistes to extend his personal invitation.
"We are in negotiation with the camp of Souljah Boy to bring him here for the show," a rep from Free People Entertainment said. We also attempted to get in contact with Lil Waynes people so we will see how that goes as well.
