Attention would-be thieves: make sure you actually get away with your ill gotten gains before trying them out.
That's a lesson two men in Monroe, Washington may have wished they learned before being arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
The suspects are accused of breaking into a local department store earlier this month and carting off an array of goods, including several pillows, hammocks and backpacks. It didn't take police there long to find them. Cops were able to follow a long trail of cardboard containers and other discarded items that led them right to the people they were seeking.
And when they found them, they didn't offer any resistance - the duo had apparently decided to test out their new belongings and were sound asleep on the items when authorities arrived.
One was snoring away on the hammock while the other was caught sawing wood on several of the comfy pillows. How out of it were these two guys? Cops were actually able to take pictures of them in the Land of Nod (top left) before waking them to the cruel reality of a far less comfortable jail cell.
The pair, one 25, the other 27, remain behind bars and haven't been able to post bail. When asked about their probe, cops would only say it appears alcohol may have been involved.
As to whether the men are prepared to confess to the crime they're accused of in the face of such overwhelming evidence, it might be safe to say they're sleeping on it.
