Playground slash threat

A MOTHER told today how a boy pulled out a cutlery knife on her son and threatened to cut his neck off in a school playground.

Victim Lavell Griffin, also aged six, was playing at Buswells Lodge Primary School in Leicester when the fellow pupil brandished the knife from its canteen and made the threat, said Shanade Griffin.

The other boy was reportedly suspended from school for just one-and-a-half days after the incident, last Thursday.

Disgusting

Ms Griffin, 24, described the punishment as too lenient and said she is looking for a new school for her son.

The mother-of-three said: I think its disgusting and I cant believe they have not done more about it. Lavell didnt want to go to school on Monday.

I dont want him to go to that school any more. I fear for my children when they get older. For a six-year-old to do something like that - whats the world coming to?

Headteacher Ken Judd said the school, in Beaumont Leys, had dealt with the incident appropriately.

He told a local newspaper: He (the attacker) did not bring a weapon into school and he was under the age of 11, so he was not reported to the police.

"We have not brushed this under the carpet
