A man held trying to export almost three pounds of ganja to Antigua was sentenced to 30 days in prison.
Clifton Bailey pleaded guilty to possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export ganja when the matter was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Mag-istrate's Court on Wednesday.
It is alleged that Bailey checked in to board a flight to Antigua at the Norman Manley International Airport and ganja was found in two containers in his luggage. He was arrested and charged. The ganja found weighed two and 3/4 lb.
He was fined $4,000 or three months for possession, admonished and discharged for dealing in ganja and fined $14,000 or three months for taking steps to export ganja. In addition, he was sentenced to 30 days imprisonment at hard labour.
