Sheldon 'Burro' Warren of Vietnam district in Goshen, St Elizabeth, was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment for illegal possession of firearm and shooting with intent in the St Elizabeth Circuit Court on July 1, after he was found guilty on both charges. Justice Lloyd Hibbert presided over the trial.
Allegations are that on August 17 2007, Warren and his uncle had an argument. It is reported that Warren accused his uncle of stealing his shoes. He pulled a firearm and fired shots at his uncle and then ran.
Concerned citizens called the police but Warren could not be found. Approximately three months after the incident, the police captured Warren in an adjoining district called Content.
He was found guilty for illegal possession of firearm and sentenced to 10 years. He was also sentenced to seven years imprisonment for shooting with intent. The sentences are to run concurrently, so he will serve only 10 years.
