Garnering yet another first in his career Dancehall's fastest rising bad boy the Gully God Mavado is set to make his film debut this summer when he appears in the Steve "Tehut-Nine" McAlpin directed 'What Goes Around' summer thiller.
Mavado who will be bringing his hard-edged Gangsta Fi Life persona to the film will play the role of a sinister character known only as "Gully God". The film will also feature other Dancehall Recording artists such as KC Jockey, the late Rraw Dawg, who was gunned down in front of a D.C. Night Club earlier this year and Flippa Mafia who with popular New York sound system selector Nohard "Noah" Grant ("Son-Son" in Bashment: The Fork in the Road) encumber lead roles alongside Sakina Samuda and Kim Goss.
Just last week the news that sports manufacturing giants Nike will be including Mavado in a promotional campaign to support the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing China this alongside the now second fastest man in the world Asafa Powell. Hailed in a recent Rolling Stone Magazine article as the best reggae artist since Bob Marley and Peter Tosh Mavado continues to make history and so we should salutes this achievement.
