RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Police are investigating how a 5-year-old boy from Riviera Beach got a gun and accidentally shot himself through the foot.

The boy told police he found the gun in a pile of trash and then accidentally shot himself. His parents took him to the hospital where he was treated and release.

Investigators say they doubt the boy's explanation and have received conflicting stories about where he got the weapon.
