Donavon Francis is desperate to find his daughter, whom he has never had the opportunity to meet since her birth some 18 years ago.
His daughter, Tiffaney Rene Solomon was born on December 31, 1989, Francis was then a ward at Copse Boys Home in Hanover because of bad behaviour.
He and the girl's mother, Stethania, were just 14 years old. He told The Star that the child was sent to a children's home and may have been adopted.
"I use to give some proper trouble up in Norwood (St James), all a chop up people but now my life has changed and I really want to see my little girl and to get a chance to be the father that I was not able to be then," Mr. Francis, who now lives in London, England, told The Star.
He is in the island for six months and vows that he will use this time to find his daughter.
"My brother and I were talking about our kids and I just felt the urge to find my daughter. Her mother is desperate to find her too. She's been searching the Internet to see what she can come up with," he said.
Mr Francis said that despite the fact that his daughter is now an adult and may have children or have made mistakes, all that does not matter; he is willing to let her live at his mother's home in Cambridge, St James.
"I just want her to know that if she wants any help, I am here and her mother is also here waiting with open arms to offer any kind of assistance, because she's still my little girl," he pleaded.
