A man, who allegedly kicked a policeman in the buttocks during a tussle, will return to court on April 24 to answer to assault charges.
Mike Martin of a Spanish Town address is charged with assaulting a policeman arising from the incident.
Reports are that on April 9, the policeman went into Jimmy's Supermarket along Burke Road. He reportedly attempted to leave through the entrance door when Martin, who is a security guard assigned to the supermarket, told him he could not.
The policeman managed to leave and a tussle developed, during which he was allegedly hit with the door in his face and kicked in the region of the buttocks. After investigations, Martin was arrested and charged.
When the case was called up for mention, the policeman did not appear in court and the case had to be put off.
