Macka Diamond to do track with Stephen Marley

We have now entered that special time of the year designated to be Women's month, and for those who have not noticed, the women of Reggae and Dancehall are determined to leave a mark of their own on the male dominated industry. While others strive to represent the 'fairer sex', one woman, Macka Diamond, may be looking to outdo them all with a power move worthy of a female DPP a la Paula Llewellyn.

Macka_Diamond.jpgFresh from her successful Trinidadian tour, the 'Money Goddess' was revealed that DiamondDistrict Ja. (Macka's new entertainment company) has a host of projects in the pipe line, but the crown jewel is a charity project aimed at assisting single mothers all across the island, throughout the month of March where Macka will be paying the bills for poor single mothers struggling to meet ends in an economy buffeted by the onset of an economic recession in the United States.

Macka has been going great guns recently. She recently hobnobbed with none other than The First Lady of Reggae, Rita Marley, at the recently held Reggae Academy Awards, at the National Indoor Sports Complex in Kingston Jamaica. Both ladies looked flawless, but as great as they both looked, fashion was not the reason for their bright smiles, because word on the street is that Macka was more excited about the coveted opportunity of going into the studio to work with Grammy Award winning producer, Stephen Marley.

"Trus mi, a murda, Macka and the Marley's, dem nuh ready fi dis," says the Money Goddess, who was ecstatic about the opportunity. "Dem yute dey have di sound and di natural gift, suh working wid dem is like a dream come true, believe mi."

They say opportunity favours the prepared man, but opportunity also favours the prepared woman, and Macka Diamond is proving to be just that, prepared for whatever, landing a number one soca collaboration, and then working with living legend, Toots Hibbert, now this, what's next? . Details surrounding the project were sketchy, but one thing is for sure, whatever it is, with Stephen Marley's Grammy touch, and Macka Diamond's witty play on words, all we can say is, run di track
