Hotmail went cold for millions of users of Tuesday and Microsoft is still trying to figure out why. If you use the free online email program, you may not have been able to log in to the service.
The email exchanger, along with others that requires a Microsoft sign-in - like Xbox Live or Messenger - went down for hours during the day, without any real explanation. The software giant will only say the scope of the problem is international and that they're working to fix it.
"We are aware that some customers may be experiencing difficulty accessing their Windows Live accounts," admits spokesperson Samantha McManus. "We're actively investigating the cause and are working to take the appropriate steps to remedy the situation as rapidly as possible."
