A 28-year-old St Catherine man who the Linstead police claim was on their most wanted list was shot and killed during a shoot-out with police yesterday. An illegal firearm was allegedly taken from him. Ernie 'Herring' Fisher, of Wakefield in Linstead, St Catherine was shot and killed after he allegedly engaged the police in a shoot-out yesterday. The police said after the incident Fisher was found to have a hand gun with several live rounds and spent shells. According to Detective Inspector Fitz Richards of the St Catherine North Police, Fisher was a very elusive and dangerous criminal who often engaged the police in shoot-outs and that his death has brought closure to a number of shootings in Linstead. The police said Fraser was also wanted for the murder of businessman 65-year-old Roy Lee who was killed in December while he was opening his business place in Linstead. "We believe that the killing of this man will ease the plight of robberies and shootings in the Linstead and surrounding areas as he moved with a vengeance said Inspector Richards.
