For the third time in a week, a suspect who was on the most wanted list is now in police custody.
Almost five weeks after the death of his brothers, the third of the Dryden brothers, Linton Dryden, reportedly turned himself over to the police last week.
He is the third person on the police most wanted list to have been taken into custody in the last week. On Monday, Eldon Calvert of Salt Spring, Montego Bay, was captured by the police in Trelawny. At the time of his arrest, Calvert was on the island's most wanted list. On Wednesday, a man who was being sought in connection with the murder of seven persons in the east Kingston police area, was held in August Town, St. Andrew. Linton Dryden became the third when the police announced yesterday that he had handed himself over last week. He is currently in custody where he is being interrogated.
$1 million
He, along with his brothers, was being sought in connection with several murders in St. Catherine.
A $1-million reward was subsequently advertised for information leading to his arrest.
On Tuesday, residents of Old Harbour Bay padlocked the gates to the cemetery in the community preventing the burial of the two deceased brothers, 34-year-old Wayne and 32-year-old Dion.
The residents made it clear that they wished not to have the men buried in their community.
The brother's bullet-riddled bodies were reportedly found on Spanish Town Road on December 9 in a car. A baby was also reportedly found dead in the vehicle.
Their father, 54-year-old Egbert Dryden was also shot dead earlier this month.
