An unidentified man who, allegedly, attempted to break into a house at Church Lane, Hart Hill, Portland, was chopped to death by a group of persons in the community on Tuesday.
The dead man, believed to be in the mid-20s, is of dark complexion, slim build and about 175 centimetres (5'10") tall.
Reports are that at about 11 a.m., the man was seen breaking into a residence in the community. An alarm was raised and he was chased by a group of persons and chopped several times. He was taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Portland police are investigating.
'Rassie' killed
Rushan Campbell, 28, otherwise called 'Rassie' was shot dead at his home in Tryall Heights, St. Catherine, on Tuesday night.
The CCN's liaison officer for the parish reported that about 10:30 p.m., Campbell was sitting on a wall at his home in Tryall Heights, when a white Toyota Corolla motor car drove up. Men armed with guns alighted from the vehicle and shot him several times. The police were alerted and Campbell was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died.
The Spanish Town police are investigating.
Cops probe death
The Kingston Central Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man along Anderson Road, Kingston 4, yesterday.
Dead is Ryan Buckley, 18, of Woodford Street, Kingston 4.
Reports from the CCN's Metro Officer are that at about 6:40 a.m., residents heard explosions and alerted the police. The officers discovered Buckley on a gully bank suffering from a gunshot wound. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
