Producer Patrick 'Roach' Samuels has denied allegations published online recently that he threatened DJ Liquid from ZIP 103.
"How me fi shoot Liquid fi no play my tune? After mi no fool. Liquid and dem ah the worst set of disc jockey, dem ah sell out the culture and dem not even know it. Right now, no man caan get no deal. Mi call Liquid one month ago and ask him 'weh some bwoy say dem waan shoot yu, dog?' Him say 'bwoy mi no know'. And that was that."
"Last year, mi put out mi juggling name Star Track with Bounty Killer, Lady Saw and Spice, and him play it one time, mi never like how him play it, him play it fast like it de pon octane so mi link ah next jockey and dem play it. After that, mi give him a single, 'Baby Mother Pushing Pram' so him can give it proper justice and all now, it no play, if is even one time, mi woulda feel good. The disc jockey dem a sell out the business, dem a sell spot pon the radio, dem ah produce, right now, no young producer no have no chance," he told One876Entertainment.com.
Roach said that he did not threaten Liquid but that he had been complaining within the industry about his inability to get airplay for his new single.
"The other day, Liquid call me phone and me say 'Liquid no call me phone, go suck yu mumma'. Ah now yu a call mi phone, next time the man dem say dem a go shoot yu, mi nah call yu and gunshot yu ah go get inna yu b----cloth. After that, him hang up and call Don, 'cause Don call me two minute later, and ask 'wah mi a cuss Liquid fah?'. Mi say dem nah play me tune, and Don say, 'ah the same ting dem do me'."
How Don so lie? Check this. Don put out three riddim one time and dem run the place. Don build riddim fi the disc jockey dem. Nuff people know and caan talk, if dem talk, dem song caan play, but mi no care, right now, Marley dying fi hold Don the way Don sell out the music. Marley and Miller de a heaven a wait pon Don fi dead fi go hell fi go give him some rahtid lick fi sell out the music," he said.
"Ah lie Liquid ah tell pon me. Me no par wid no man inna my car, how him fi call my phone and get a next man? Only gal alone mi spar wid, so how him a tell lie say is a next man say Roach say him gi get gunshot. Dem fi go way, is a syndicate dem form and ah lock out the young producer dem, how ghetto yute ah go rise and buy house without shooting people or selling drugs if dem bootleg the business fi dem self and dem friend."
He said that he personally knows that Don Corleone called a record executive overseas and told him not to take Roach's 'Siren' rhythm which had the 'Emergency' hit by Vybz Kartel.
"Me and Kartel de a Don house, when the man call me and say 'Roach, I did not know Don Corleone was so bad mind, he told me not to take your rhythm, but your rhythm is wicked man, I love it', and mi say, wah yu say, and put in on speaker phone and pass it to Kartel and him hear fi himself, so Don dem fi gway. No door no de de fi young producer."
