Energy Gods "Lets Get Physical" ready for the world

Best known to natives and friends of Reggae and Dancehall as the "energy god", Elephant Man can be often seen climbing the poles and the speaker boxes no matter how high the stage. For this and his other extraordinary displays of acrobatic antics onstage, he received that name.

The stage name, Elephant Man stemmed from his large ears, which led to the nickname "Db*m**ocla" in his youth. He began his musical career as a member of the Scare Dem Crew, later continuing as a solo artist. He has also been characterized by several trademarks, such as the yellow-orange hairstyle and his unique low-key voice.

International recognition came for Elephant Man in 2004 when he sealed a contract with Puma, permitting the use of his single "All Out" for an Olympic Games commercial in 2004.

Elephant Man also had a song called "Willie Bounce" that appeared on several mixtapes in 2006. It borrowed the first few bars from "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor.

Today, the Jamaican star has been signed to New York-based label Bad Boy Records, owned by Hip Hop mogul, P. Diddy. It has barely been one year since he signed to the label, which will officially release his album titled, "Let's Get Physical" in March this year.

The first single from the album is called "Five-O" featuring former Fugees member, Wyclef Jean. Speaking to YardFlex on Wednesday afternoon, Elephant man revealed that the album will be a star-studded one. "It is gonna be a serious album. People like Swizz Beats, R.Kelly, Maya, Busta Rhymes, Rihanna and Shaggy are on it." And, the entertainer is loading up with energy for his promotional world tour. "I'm gonna be everywhere... in the sun and in the snow. I'll be going all out for this one," Elephant said.

Responding to questions about his live performances, he said, "A true entertainer is versatile and makes music for the world." His boisterous demeanor, quick chatting lyricism and unforgettable stage presence have all helped transform this Seaview Gardens local deejay into an internationally recognized reggae phenomenon. Elephant Man's music has brought a new innovative flavor to the dancehall. His free-spirited vibration leaves you eager to do nothing less than let loose and party, making it blatantly evident that Elephant's mission is to create energy infused music that everyone can enjoy.

Elephant Man stormed through the doors of dancehall back in 1998 under the wing of Bounty Killa, flexing his creative muscles while managing to successfully brand himself as the energy god. His debut, Good 2 Go (VP Records), became a worldwide smash back in 2004 with the release of chart topping party tunes like "Signal Di Plane" and "Pon Di River," the single which gave him a Source Award for Dancehall/Reggae Artist of the Year and the MTV2 nomination at the 2004 MTV Music Video Awards.

Since then, the hardcore Energy God hasn't slowed down. He has recorded collaborations with Lil Jon, R. Kelly, Pitbull, and Daddy Yankee. He also performed on stage at the 2004 BET Awards
