Today nine people were rushed to hospital and dozens more had minor injuries when an Air Canada plane from BC (where I live)  made an emergency landing in Calgary on its way to Toronto.
In New Brunswick a few hours later another plane made an emergency landing moments after takeoff because a  big "non essential" piece of metal  fell off one of the  engines. 
THEN,  a short while after that, a helicopter went down 10 minutes  from my mothers house in  St Johns, Newfoundland! No lie, check the web!
I am at my moms visiting now and I fly back to Vancouver on Monday. I am on the east coast of the east coast and I have to fly something like 9 hours of actual airtime to get to the west coast.
I want to take a train or something now but it would take about 6 days. Plus Newfoundland is an island and there is trouble with the ferrys right now so just getting to the mainland is tricky. maybe i should stay here...
