The Miami Police Department will set up surveillance cameras throughout the streets of Miami.
According to Police, these cameras will be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Multiple cameras are being set up and geared at cars and pointing at people. "The beauty of these cameras, first and foremost is eyes for us out there in the event, God forbid, there's a suspicious package," said Chief of Miami Police John Timoney. "We'll be watching crowd controls and traffic controls, as well."
Authorities also say these cameras will serve to search for key elements pertaining to homeland security, like terrorist suspects.
