Two persons were killed in separate traffic accidents between Saturday and Sunday.
The first accident occurred along the Haughton Court main road in Lucea, Hanover, on Sunday morning and claimed the life of Michael Williams, 40, of Haughton Barrows district, Lucea.
Reports are that about 12:15 a.m., Williams was riding his bicycle along the said road when on reaching the section near the Lucea Courthouse, he collided with a Toyota Fielder motor car registered 9820 ED, being driven by a Dalton Pringle, also of a Lucea address. Williams sustained multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the Noel Holmes Hospital.
Forty-four-year-old Garfield Mendez of Thompson Town district in Trelawny died in a three-vehicle collision on the Content main road in Williamsfield, Manchester, on Saturday night.
Three other persons were injured in the accident. They have been identified as 19-year-old Donovan Mendez and Garfield Baker, 25, both farmers of Thompson Town, and Noel Gowie of Bethany district, Manchester.
Reports are that about 7:50 p.m., Andre Gowie was driving his Mitsubishi Gallant towards Williamsfield with Noel Gowie aboard. On reaching a section of the road, he reportedly lost control of the car and crashed into a Nissan Sunny which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The impact caused the Sunny to slam into a Nissan pickup that was being driven by Baker and had Garfield and Donovan Mendez aboard.
The injured persons were taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital where Garfield Mendez succumbed to his injuries and the others were admitted for treatment.
