On Tuesday December 18, Islandstubs.com officially launched its new Caribbean online ticketing service. The launch was held at Kingston Beer's Tuesday Nite Live at the Village Café in Kingston.
At the launch Noelle Nicolls, Director of Island Stubs, gave a visual demonstration of how the site works. She emphasized its easy to use system and how the site cuts the time for buying tickets. Users can use PayPal, International credit cards or Jamaican dual currency credit cards.
She further explained the core services of Island Stubs are 'will call' ticketing and 'print at home' ticketing. With 'will call' tickets, event patrons have the convenience of purchasing tickets online and collecting them at the gate on the day of the event while 'print at home' tickets are purchased online, printed and presented at the event gate for scanning. Each 'print at home' ticket contains a unique bar code that is individually processed through a secure database.
Noelle also announced that Supreme Promotions has now joined up with Island Stubs to sell tickets online for the 24 th staging of Guinness Sting.
"Last year, Guinness Sting had a crowd of 35,000. This year, with the help of island stubs we may get a little closer to our goal of 45,000 patrons." - Howard McIntosh, Director of Supreme Promotions.Island Stubs reported that they have sold over US$10,000 worth of tickets within the 1st week of selling tickets for the Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues festival."So many persons have approached us to sell tickets online, but Noelle had the right words, right system and right attitude to make this work. And it's Caribbean." Walter Elmore of Turn Key Productions told 876radio.com.
Elmore also pointed out that individual promoters are able to access sales data for their events, which will enable them to directly market to their clients for future events "We have faith in this product and see it more than just selling tickets but also as a tool to building networks which will benefit Jamaica."Basil Smith, Director of Tourism, Jamaica Tourist Board spoke of the JTB's endorsement of Island Stubs: "Island Stubs comes at a time when the JTB is heading the 4th dimension of marketing. The Internet moves tourism into the 21st century. Last year 40% of our visitors bought their packages online. Jamaica hosts a multitude of events and Island Stubs facilitates a need to market our events internationally."Islandstubs.com is now selling tickets online for both Guinness Sting 2007 and the Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues festival 2008. Noelle envisions that Island Stubs will be selling tickets globally for ALL major Caribbean events in the near future. For all the patrons that are planning to attend STING you can also purchase you tickets at these outlets locally.
