Big Ship head Freddie McGregor issued a statement to One876Entertainment.com that his family would not be drawn into a verbal battle with the Gangsta Ras who has been dissing members of the McGregor clan in his recent songs.

"We anno gangsta from we born, ah music we ah pree. We're more talented than that, Chino has taken it hard because it is his little brother who is being dissed, but Munga is on his own, we are not into that, we are about music, at age 17, Stephen has proven that. Chino has an album coming out, Munga has no album to compare to that, and I am known for good music," Freddie McGregor, the elder statesman of the reggae music scene, told One876Entertainment.com.

"I don't know Munga, if I see him, I wouldn't know him, but he has to be careful, careful how him pass him place, cause him nah go like how we ah go address it," he said.

Freddie suggested that "Munga was trying to look a hype off the McGregor name".

"Munga de pon him own wid that, other people outta road can respond to him but ah music we know, if him waan challenge we musically, him can do that, ah that we ah pree," Freddie, whose monster international hits include Big Ship and So I'll Wait For You.
