SASOD is a group based in Guyana which is committed to eradicating discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. The group website reports that the reggae artist's(Buju Banton) "lyrics...gleefully promote pouring acid over gay men and setting them on fire".
Buju Banton is schedule to perform at Guyana's National Stadium in on October 27 an event which has promoters facing enormous pressure from SASOD Guyana. In response to SASOD the GT Entertainment group promoters of the reggae event have committed to ensuring that the Guyana Music Festival is not discriminatory to any Guyanese citizen.
