Has ne1 else noticed? Or is it just me. The quality of dancehall music declining over the last year. 2-3 years ago whole riddims wuld sell off. Now its only 1-2 tune,& most riddims r wack U can count on ur 1 hand d amount of hits weve had dis yr. n 75% of dem were made by 1 man. Vado.
I blame it on da riddims cumming out 2 quick & di artists losing creativity. Wen last Kartel mek a tune weh wwwwwwwwwwicked?

giggle.gif fo real everyday i see a new riddim being posted or someone requesting a new riddim and i've been wondering what the hell is going on. Things and time change still, i guess they are trying to keep the fans interested with different spins, but not really putting much effort into it

Could be. But its making the music lose quality. Most songs I hear n Im like. R dey crious. How culd da quality drop so fast. Memba 2004 wen culture & dancehall was goin haaaaaaard. Now I can't even fink of 10 tunes weh sell off. Maybe I just notice more coz I Dj. n u can't buss tune in a dance agen. Evre1 just stands dere

LOL, fi real, DJs will pick up on these things faster than us cause you are the ones that have to create a hype for the people on the dance floor. But some people (regulars) dont even listen to the riddims all that, they just listen to the words and notice whether the beat fast or slow and how to dane to it. I dont think some regular people (especially females) put emphasis on riddims.

Yea dats tru, girls don't really listen riddim 4 riddim. and coz da dancing ting kinda die out 2. Dat mek it 10x harder.

But Skendon 4 real. Ud rather dem put out 10 riddims n u not like 1, dan dem put out 5 or even 2 hot riddim weh evre tune bad?

in tht scenario now tommy its dependent on the artist not on th riddim producers u seet.if u dont ave the ability to voice a good chune on a riddim then dont push urslf up on it.for example. me is a donia nigga yu seet evry single donia buss mi gots it. but him chune pan di chromium was utter fkry yu seet.suh if yu as a artis no u caa manage sumn nuh tek it up pan yu hed .jus tru riddim buss nuh mean yu affi go pan it

But dis games bout $$$. & no matter how yuh see dem a pree bout dem nuh bow fi money. If sum1 offers u money 2 do wot u do. Ur gonna take it.
So I still fink producers hav 2 take sum blame. Coz if ur bringin out a riddim evre wk n sayn 2 ur artist, I hav a riddim 4 u dere gona take it. n if da producers bringin out a riddim evre hr. How can u stil stay creative?

Y Thank Ubad . But Im not 2 sure bout Donia aswell. Lyrically only Kartel can see him. But I cant ever see him selling off like Vado. He needs clarity. If me a bred Jamaican can't undastand him sutyms. I dno who will. & he needs catchier songs

My 2cents...mi agree wid unnu say the market saturate wid somuch riddim that u caan even keep up (even as a DJ). Dem nuh gi the masses time to enjoy a tune/riddim b4 dem release summin else next day. Some a di artists dem fi blame 2, reggae (Sizzla, Turbulance) and dancehall (Kartel, Donia, Vado). Dem nah give u time to enjoy a album b4 dem drop a next album. Man like Sizzla drop 2-4 album every year. Di man bus 12 years ago and have almost 40 album. Wha kinda deal dat? Dem nuh have nuh stamina inna di business fi mek dem tune maintain airplay like bak in da dayz like di veteran dem like Supercat, Shabba, Admiral, etc...and contemporary artists like Shaggy, Damian Marley, Sean Paul. Dem man deh mek more doalls releasing a album every two year or so keeping the masses appetite wet fi dem next release....yuh c-me!

fact is years ago you prolly weren't online download whole riddims, and you only heard certain tunes from riddim on mixtapes. Now you have access to everything, you realize how much tunes are getting ignored in dances.
