Residents of Galloway Road off Waltham Park Road in Kingston hit the road today with placards as rain drizzled down from a gunmetal sky protesting the severe beating of a dancer from their community last Saturday at Mas Camp in Kingston.

The placards had derogatory slogans such as Breaking NewsMavados bodyguards bad for society, Mavado must pay for damage to fans and Dont Start War If Yu Nuh Mean ItJustice.

The dancer, Andre Beep Beep Dawson was hit with a bottle by members of Mavados entourage after he lost his platinum chain in the crowd during the Heineken Green Synergy competition last Saturday forcing a premature end to the event.

Beep Beep who says he is a big Alliance fan said that members of Mavados entourage hit him in the face with a bottle, spilling his blood, and requiring him to get ten stitches from a medical doctor.

But what caused the uproar and why was he get hit?

Some residents claimed that they were robbed in the subsequent stampede that began after the brawl, and lost articles of clothing, jewellery and cellphones.

According to eyewitness reports, Busy and Mavado had been performing, when Mavado decided to perform a few girl songs for his female fans who he had invited over the barricade. The girls dragged him into the crowd. One girl took off his chain, and members of his entourage ran towards him and a tussle developed between a few of them and members of the crowd. A bottle was thrown and some patrons 'roughed up' by the entourage. When patrons realized that there was a brawl taking place, they began to flee in all directions, triggering a number of mini-stampedes. Eventually, the crowd began to exit the venue.

For his part, Mavado seemed ticked off that his entourage had caused a premature end to the event. He insisted that the dancer be carried to the hospital, and berated his entourage.
