A man who bit and beat two goats to death was remanded in custody when he appeared in court on Tuesday.
Fitzroy Forbes of Guanoboa Vale, St Catherine, stood in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's court to answer to charges of cruelty to animal and unlawful wounding.
The court was brought to laughter when Detective Corporal Kirk Roache, outlined that on July 30, Forbes ran down two goats and bit the animals after they trespassed on his property. He is also reported to have beaten the animals before he was arrested that same day.
The charge of unlawful wounding was laid on Forbes after it is alleged that he used a stone to hit a 78-year-old woman who dared to question his brutal actions towards the goats.
When the accused appeared in court Resident Magistrate Lorna Errar Gayle questioned Forbes' sanity as there were also other complaints of praedial larceny being thrown at him.
The accused however responded to her by stating; "Mi neva kill nuttin nor tief no ackee and yuh a violate. Yuh a violate man, dis nuh right."
Having heard his response, R.M. Gayle then told the accused that she was not afraid of threats.
Forbes was remanded until September 11, when the matter will again be mentioned.
