Deejay Mavado made references to his recent incarceration in Barbados during his hosting of the R.A.S promotion Beer Vibes at Caymanas last Friday.
He hit the stage a few minutes after 3 a.m, and as soon as he became visible, and declared hell bruk loose again, members of the audience rushed towards the barriers to get a better glimpse of the gangsta for life.
People mi haffi turn up, me did de a prison a Barbados, some bwoy diss and mi haffi beat off dem face, he said, before singjaying mi go so nah nah nananah, and deejaying Chat Too Much.
During his second segment, he did We No Badmind Like Dem where he promised to put straight gun shot inna the face of Shebada. The crowd roared its approval.
Dem diss me a Barbados, but wha mi tell dem say he said, before belting out his version of the hymn classic, Amazing Grace.
The deejay was charismatic and in command throughout his stint as host. He also played up the arrival of Firelinks as the real big man, ratcheting up the level of anticipation for the dub plates that Firelinks would unleash on the audience later.
Personalities such as VJ Nikki Z, publicist/broadcaster Odessa Chambers, Alex Fras of HYPE TV, writer Claude Mills and photographer Nicketa Thomas of XNEWS were also in the house.
