What was intended to be a routine walk along a path in Mamby District, Victoria Town, in southern Manchester, on Saturday, resulted in tragedy for two brothers who became entangled in an illegal electrical cable.
Reports from the Asia police are that at about 1:30 p.m., 7-year-old Mario Lee and his brother, 9-year-old Tanhai, were walking along a path in the rain, when Mario, who was carrying an umbrella, got entangled.
Tanhai reportedly tried to assist him and both boys were electrocuted and thrown to the ground. Mario died on the spot while Tanhai was injured.
A huge crowd gathered at the scene before the youngster's body was removed to Lyn's Funeral Home in Mandeville for a post-mortem examination, while his injured brother was treated at the Mandeville Public Hospital and released.
The police accompanied by residents tried to find the source of the cable and travelled for almost two miles to an adjoining hillside before finding the end disconnected.
