That is the question that will be answered this weekend as dancehall arch rivals Beenie and Bounty square off in Montego Bay, St. James well, sort of.
The dancehall icons are both headliners on competing stage shows in the municipality. Beenie headlines the Kings of Kings Unite the People show alongside Shaggy, Vybz Kartel, Ninjaman, and Bushman at the Montpelier showground while Bounty Killer is the marquis act at the Sonny Ranking promotion, Star Jam 2K7 at the Aquasol complex, alongside red-hot Mavado, Wayne Marshall, Aidonia, Bling Dawg and the Merital family.
The show effectively splits the traditional dancehall stage show crowed and may result in a loss for one of the promoters. Which one it will be depends on the pulling power of the deejays involved?
Beenie Man, a superb entertainer with infinite skills, has always been a showstopper and major crowd puller over his career. However, he has been on the decline in recent times because of his un-Beenie Man like choices cutting ties and threatening former songwriter, the affable Don Mafia and giving abrasive television interviews where he comes off like a shallow, bling-obsessed cad who is fast and loose with the truth.
In the meantime, Bounty Killers stocks are on the rise with his dancehall hit, Bulletproof Vest and he has been able to feed off the energies of his protégé Mavado whose singles, including Last Night which is at #2 on the Richie B charts, are all the rage in the dancehall.
Ultimately, as with any stage show, it is the women who will decide which stage show sells off, and if Vybz Kartel, whose Beyonce Wine number one hit and Wine Pon You songs are big in the dancehall, shows up at Unite the People, it could well swing the pendulum over to Montpelier showground. Advantage: Kings of Kings.
What do you think? Which stage show is going to sell off this weekend? And who will have bragging rights? Beenie or Bounty?
Thats not all that it depends on. You have to take into consideration which event is being more promoted. Also the price of each and the reputation and so forth. Unite the ppl is much more promoted than the bounti show and it will also bring more culture fans

I dont agree that beenie is the KING , but he certainly can give a 2-3 hr performance ,that i dont think bounty or anyone else can do in dancehall. My preference and most women would be beenie, but men for bounty ,so it's mixed and it alos depends on the category of songs your talkin about also.Gun tune or girl tune.
