A man and a teenage boy who were allegedly caught in a compromising position at a fast food outlet in May Pen, Clarendon, had to be rescued by the police after an angry mob attempted to beat them.

The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m., while the restaurant was still open for business. It is said that a patron went to use the bathroom, heard strange sounds coming from one of the stalls, and upon closer examination, found the adult male in a compromising position behind the juvenile.

The patron reportedly raised an alarm and an angry mob descended upon them. The mob allegedly started to reign blows on them, before they were rescued by a police party on patrol in the area.

It is alleged that the adult had promised the boy a Motorola Razr cellphone in exchange for certain favours.

The May Pen police have confirmed the incident and added that they are conducting further investigation into the matter. The police say that they have also heard of the allegations that a cellphone was the reason for the encounter.

When THE STAR visited the town, several persons verified that the incident had taken place, and those who spoke were still fuming that they did not get to do bodily harm to the men.

"A nasty the boy dem nasty. A go the man go een deh fi guh use the bathroom an see dem a .... like man and woman, a weh the country gone doah eh?" remarked a vendor.

The adult male, who was led away from the scene in handcuffs, was said to be still in police custody. Up to press time yesterday, he had not been charged.
