The circumstances surrounding the death of Patrick 'Curly Lox' Gaynor’s six year old son, Zion, may have a touch of the macabre, according to police investigators.
It was reported earlier this week that Zion, the son of ‘Curly Lox’, one half of the dancehall comedic duo, Twin of Twins, had died in controversial circumstances involving the child’s stepfather. It had also been said that the stepfather had failed to give consistent statements regarding the child’s death.
One876Entertainment.com went to the offices of the St. Catherine North station on Burke Road in Spanish Town to get more information regarding the death.
The investigating officer was not there but we were able to get information from other officers who were familiar with some of the details in the case.
“The wife and biological father were here last night giving a statement…the statement lasted about five hours and I overheard some of the stuff and it sounded weird, as if it involved some sort of cult activity was going on because at one point, they said that the child had begun to act differently after drinking some special water and dem tings deh,” one police officer confided.
“It was like a twisted story, with whole heap a different parts, and it tek a long time fi tell because it tek about five hours, and right now, we cannot say much more as the police are still investigating it. Right now, it is not even being classified as a homicide…we will make a decision after the autopsy is completed and the results made available to us.”
The mother and stepfather, whose names are being withheld, were questioned and released.
The incident happened in the Greendale community of Spanish Town.
Efforts to get a comment from Deputy Superintendent Meveral Smith of St. Catherine North proved futile.
There were at least two incidents last year which were widely reported where cult-like activity was involved.
