Genuine quotes from BUSH!!!!!!!!

August 13, 2008

George W Bush quotes, Bush Blunders, Bush Gaffes
Yes, believe it or not, these are all genuine quotes from the man the people elected as the 43rd US President:

Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream.

I admit it, I am not one of the great linguists.

For every fatal shooting, there were roughly three non-fatal shootings. And, folks, this is unacceptable in America. It's just unacceptable. And we're going to do something about it.

I am a person who recognizes the fallacy of humans.

I have opinions of my own, strong opinions, but I don't always agree with them.

I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.

I know how hard it is to put food on your family.

I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe - I believe what I believe is right.

I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn't here.

I recently met with the finance minister of the Palestinian Authority, was very impressed by his grasp of finances.

I think anybody who doesn't think I'm smart enough to handle the job is underestimating.

I think war is a dangerous place.

I understand small business growth. I was one.

I wish I wasn't the war president. Who in the heck wants to be a war president? I don't.

I'm not a very good novelist. But it'd make a pretty interesting novel.

If the terriers and bariffs are torn down, this economy will grow.

If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier - so long as I'm the dictator.

I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things.

I'm the master of low expectations.

I'm the commander - see, I don't need to explain - I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being President.

It would be a mistake for the United States Senate to allow any kind of human cloning to come out of that chamber.

Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?

Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people and neither do we.

The problem with the French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur.

There's an old saying in Tennessee, I know it's in Texas, probably Tennessee, that says 'Fool me once [pause], shame onshame on you. [Long pause] Fool me. [Pause] You can't get fooled again.'

They have miscalculated me as a leader.

They misunderestimated me.

This foreign policy stuff is a little frustrating.

We cannot let terrorists and rogue nations hold this nation hostile or hold our allies hostile.

We need an energy bill that encourages consumption.

We ought to make the pie higher.

We're concerned about AIDS inside our White House - make no mistake about it.

Will the highways on the Internet become more few?

Do you have blacks, too? (To Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso)

When I was young and irresponsible, I was young and irresponsible.

You're free. And freedom is beautiful. And, you know, it'll take time to restore chaos and order - order out of chaos. But we will.

This is still a dangerous world. It's a world of madmen and uncertainty and potential mential losses.

I think there is a Trojan horse lurking in the weeds trying to pull a fast one on the American people.

This is a world that is much more uncertain than the past. In the past we were certain, we were certain it was us versus the Russians in the past. We were certain, and therefore we had huge nuclear arsenals aimed at each other to keep the peace. That's what we were certain ofYou see, even though it's an uncertain world, we're certain of some things.

It is clear our nation is reliant upon big foreign oil. More and more of our imports come from overseas.

I think we agree, the past is over.

And there's no doubt in my mind, not one doubt in my mind, that we will fail.

The important question is, how many hands have I shaked.

GeneralI can't name the general.(When asked to name President of Pakistan)

We spent a lot of time talking about Africa, as we should. Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease.

The war on terror involves Saddam Hussein because of the nature of Saddam Hussein, the history of Saddam Hussein, and his willingness to terrorize himself.

When I was a kid I remember that they used to put out there in the Old West a wanted poster. It said, Wanted: Dead or Alive.

My answer is to bring them on. (On Iraqi militants attacking US forces)

Major c****at operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed. -- May 1, 2003

edo competition modifies the Bentley Continental GT

It was paramount for edo competition to turn the Bentley Continental into the worlds fastest GT. Consequentially, particular attention was paid to the engine modifications and all associated components.

In factory trim the Bentley reaches a top speed of 326 km/h (203 mph) with 610 horsepower. Since this provided a good starting point for the edo speed GT, the power output of the 6.0-liter W12 engine was increased to 680 horsepower, making edo competitions offering the most powerful GT in the world. The already massive torque output of 750 Nm (553 ft-lb) rises to 880 Nm (649 ft-lb) at 2,500 rpm. As a result the edo speed GT reaches a top speed in excess of 340 km/h (211 mph) and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a phenomenal 4.2 seconds!

Getting this power to the ground are 20 in. racing wheels shod with Sport Contact V-Max tires specially developed by Continental for the edo speed GT. The wheels can be painted according to the customers wishes.

edo competition has developed a new high-performance exhaust system for the speed GT which along with the ECU recalibration is responsible for the increased output. The high-flow exhaust is made from stainless steel and produces a wonderfully deep and sonorous sound, ensuring the aural experience is given appropriate attention. A new butterfly valve system (with an optional remote control) provides two different settings for the volume level. The development work for the cat-back exhaust system was performed on a dynamometer.

The lowered suspension draws attention to the sporty appearance. The suspension can be adjusted individually thanks to the electronic air suspension control module. The front and rear of the vehicle can be lowered by a maximum of 35 millimeters. As an additional benefit the lowered suspension improves the handling capabilities.

Beautiful wrapper: Customers with a desire for guaranteed exclusivity can opt for a custom exterior color scheme. This is realized using a special foil available in any desired color.

Innovative electric-car startup Tesla is unveiling the latest addition to its lineup this afternoon in Southern California. The sedan is meant to serve as a more affordable entry to the Tesla lineup that will appeal to the mainstream, with a ticket price of around $50,000 (as opposed to well over $100,000 for the Tesla Roadster). Current estimates for release of the car are late in 2011. Earlier today Diggs Kevin Rose leaked a number of photos of the car (which has been kept tightly under wraps until now). The car apparently features a very large touchscreen in the center console, as well as a digital display that is possibly touch-sensitive in the dash. Rose appears to have made the Flickr accounts he originally posted the photos to private, but they have been copied to a number of other sites.

Jaguar XE Supercar

Jaguar is working on a 503-hp all-aluminum supercar called the XE to take on the likes of an Audi R8. According to Julian Rendell of AutoWeek (who happens to be familiar of whats pumping in the Jaguar product pipeline) the Jaguar XE is actually a front-engine sports car - not a 200 mph supercar.

Jaguar has yet to sign-off on the project but according sources, that shouldnt be a problem. Rendell says that the car will be more of a Porsche Boxster, BMW Z4 and Mercedes-Benz SLK competitor. Sources tell Rendell that the future of the XE is tied up with the next-generation XK which isnt due until 2012 or 2013.

Ford iosis Max

Is this the most aggressive people carrier you've ever seen? Kia reveals its new No 3 concept by suggesting that it's the first beautiful MPV and Ford turns up with the iosis Max, a concept so angry-looking it probably eats pretty little Kias for breakfast (especially given that the Koreans appear to have adopted Ford's design language, but that's another story). With downforce-generating c-pillars, an enormous rear wing and grab handles influenced by aircraft vortices, we've never seen a people carrier quite like this. But despite the visual stroppiness, the iosis Max is really a big softy at heart. Powered by a 1.6-liter Ecoboost, it debuts Ford's new family of environmentally friendly turbo engines.

Frazer-Nash Namir - Geneva 09

Frazer-Nash Namir by Giugiaro

Proving that eco-friendly supercars don't have to be hideous is this concept, the Frazer-Nash Namir by Giugiaro. Yes, the Frazer-Nash in question is related to that famous British motor-racing marque. The company is now involved in the design, development and manufacture of hybrid systems, and that's what is showcased here. Cloaked in a car designed and built by Giugiaro, the Namir's hybrid drivetrain uses a tiny 814cc rotary c****ustion engine to provide power to four electric motors. The result is claimed CO2 emissions of less than 60g/km. It also runs from zero to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a 187 mph top speed, potentially making this the fastest hybrid ever.

race-cars-2025-1.jpg
There's something about car racing that grabs the imagination. The speed and the danger make the sport seem romantic and glamorous while racing designs and technology have made their way into everyday life. The sleek shape of an old-fashioned toaster mimics the rake of the 1950's Formula One cars, while fashionistas wear jackets with mandarin collars and sneakers with rounded heels -- both designs originally developed for race car drivers.

Auto racing has influenced everyday products, but it has also influenced, well, car racing. Designers and engineers are constantly pushing toward that next record, toward even greater speed and control. While there are many types of car racing, and each has produced its own technical and design innovations, much of the innovation in car racing has come from the most popular forms of the sport, including stock car racing and Formula One racing.

Of course, it makes sense that the most popular, and best-funded, types of car racing gave rise to some of the best known innovations. Some of the things that we take for granted in everyday car design, like aerodynamics, were developed from the early days of car racing when teams discovered that a car with a smooth and sleek body could cut through the air more easily, posting faster lap times. Even though racing is all about speed and handling, a number of safety innovations came directly from car racing, too. After all, if you're going to be going that fast, you need a good strong safety system in the event of a crash. This thought gave rise to such safety features as shoulder seatbelts and the concepts of safety cages and crumple zones. Even components that we now consider basic equipment on modern cars, such as disc brakes, also came from auto racing.

Yet the sport of auto racing continues to innovate. Today's race car engineers and designers are experimenting with lightweight materials, like carbon fiber, to make racecars safer and stronger while innovators interested in alternative fuels and propulsions systems are beginning to race cars that function completely different from the cars on the track at Talladega. It's tough to say where all of these new ideas will take racing, but the 5th Annual L.A. Auto Show Design Challenge offered a glimpse at the types of racecars some automotive designers are envisioning for the future.

Keep reading to see what some of the industry's most innovative thinkers believe race cars will look like in the year 2025.

Maybach Zeppelin

Compared to this car, the Rolls-Royce 200EX concept looks like a positive paragon of virtue and prudence. Say hello, plutocrat, this here is the limited edition, $564,699-plus Maybach Zeppelin. It has a 640-horsepower twin turbo V12 and a back-seat perfume dispenser. What more could you possibly ask for? Based on the existing Maybach 57S and 62S, the company reckons it can sell 100 of each of them. Special features include the unique two-tone exterior finish, Zeppelin badges everywhere including on the standard champagne flutes and more streamlined mirrors. The name comes from the airships, Maybach having supplied the originals' engines.

THE MONK WHO PRAYED TOO MUCH

March 11, 2009
Started By MZ Legend19 Comments

Every day before sunrise, he arrives at the temple steps, places his feet in his footprints and bends down to pray a few thousand times before walking around the temple.

The footprints are 1.2 inches deep where the balls of his feet have pressed into the wood.

But the years are beginning to make their own mark on his body.

'During the first years I would pray 2,000 to 3,000 times a day.

'But I have grown older, so in recent years I have only done around 1,000 each day,' he said, adding sheepishly that he could sometimes only manage around 500 in the cold of winter.

Check out the sweet kicks above. Those are custom Nike Air Force Ones to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the PlayStation 2 in Japan.

The 10th Anniversary version of one of the most collectible Air Force Ones features gradient color bleeds on patent leather(!) uppers and standard AF1 liners. Although less than 50 pairs were created, these babies are not numbered. Sony made 'em to give out to company executives, media people, and other important members of society.  So no, you probably won't be given a pair...but that doesn't mean you can't get your sneaker-pimp hands on 'em!

The first pair of these unique sneaks is on the eBay auction block right now, being sold off for charity. Current bid: US $2,135.00.

Ferrari 599XX

If the 100th-anniversary Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire had been blessed with the 1,350 horsepower rumored before the show, it would almost certainly have made our supercar pick here in place of this Ferrari. But as it is, the Bug is just a particularly tasty one-off special edition. And the 599XX is utterly mental. Even the extreme looks don't quite do this car justice. A track-only special that will be offered exclusively to hand-picked Ferrari faithful, the 599XX is packed with advanced, Formula 1-derived technology, and can lap the Fiorano test track in 1 minute 17 seconds. That's seven seconds faster than an Enzo. Whoa.

Mansory Chopster

You could argue and many people do that the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is outrageous enough upon leaving the factory. A 550-horsepower 2.5-ton SUV that can do zero to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds doesn't really need any help in this regard. Still, you can't fault specialist tuner Mansory's effort when trying. This is the Mansory Chopster. It has 710 horses under the hood. The revised bodywork is crafted entirely from carbon fiber. The roofline has been lowered 2.4 inches hence the name and the suspension dropped by 1.8 inches. The alloy wheels are a ridiculous 23 inches in diameter, and you could literally fit your head in the exhaust. It's awful. But we really, really want one.

Rinspeed ichange

If there's one thing you can rely on at the Geneva Auto Show, it's that Swiss coach builder Rinspeed will always have something completely ridiculous on display. Last year it was the sQuba a bizarre, amphibian, modified Lotus Elise. This year it's the iChange, a concept car that adapts its body shape depending on the number of passengers onboard. This is really quite a bright idea, reflecting the reality that most cars are single-occupant vehicles for most of the time. So when there's just the driver, the iChange adopts a streamlined teardrop shape. Need more space, and the back pops up to accommodate two additional passengers. An electric motor provides the power.

Bentley Continental Supersports

What we like particularly about the Bentley Continental Supersports is that Bentley is pitching it as the first stage in the company's new environmental commitment. OK, it uses biofuel. Fine, but the Continental Supersports is also the fastest, most powerful Bentley ever made. Somehow the two aspects don't quite compute. Then there's the genius of having a car as big as a Bentley Continental, and fitting only two seats in it. The Supersports develops 630 horsepower, for crying out loud. It does zero to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 204 mph. Would the extra weight really have made that much difference?

Koenigsegg NLV Quant concept

What the ...? Seriously, sitting just next to this on the same stand was yet another Special Edition version of the fabulous Koenigsegg CCXR a car that's as dramatic as it is unaffordable. The Koenigsegg Quant, on the other hand, looks like an extra-large, super-ugly, upside-down bathtub. Still, the attempt to create a solar-electric supercar with space for four is virtuous enough, we suppose. And the projected statistics make intriguing reading: twin electric motors, rear-wheel drive, 512 horsepower, zero to 62 mph in 5.2 seconds, and a theoretical 310 mile range. The bodywork is covered in solar cells, and the aerodynamics reputedly excellent.

Knowing that Lamborghini can squeeze an extra 29 hp from its 6.5-liter V-12 for the lightweight, limited-edition LP670-4 SuperVeloce, its not surprising that the Italian automaker can give its flagship Murciélago a milder upgrade to keep its customers hungry. The new LP650-4 roadster has been granted such a promotion, gaining nine additional horsepower for a total of 641. Torque output will remain the same, though, at 487 lb-ft.

Aside from the minor engine tweaking, the new modellimited to only 50 examplesis set apart from the lesser Murciélago LP640 roadster by a unique Grigio Telesto exterior design. The gray bodywork is accented by a special orange-painted lip spoiler and side-sills, along with similar bold touches to the brake calipers and badging.

Black Alcantara covers the drivers portion of the dash, door panel, and center tunnel, while the co-pilot must make do with only fine-leather trimmings. Orange paddle shifters direct the e-gear six-speed automated manual transmission, with additional orange accents scattered about the black interior.

Lambo estimates this bull will charge to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and top out at 205 mph. But as we have clocked an equally weighty coupe hitting 60 mph in 3.2 seconds with nine fewer ponies, the LP650-4 roadster stands to at least match the time of its fixed-roof sibling.

Its set to be the fastest open topped car Lamborghini has ever produced and with a production run limited to just 50 models its likely to be one of the most exclusive.
Capable of a top speed of over 205mph, the LP650-4 aims to blend agressive looks with stunning performance, and will be the firm's new topless flagship.
The new LP650-4 arrives hot on the heels of the Reventon a £650,000, 650bhp limited edition model released at last years
