CLAY COUNTY, FL -- Two mothers are accused of using their children to help them shoplift almost $700 worth of clothes from a Kohl's department store in Fleming Island.
Deputies say 30-year-old Alicia Metcalf and 22-year-old Melinda Blankenship were spotted removing clothes from hangers and then putting the items under their children who were sitting in shopping carts.
The moms are accused of leaving the store without paying for any of the clothes.
Deputies say they also found stolen clothes inside a diaper bag inside the mothers' car.

Trauma ... sister Lydia (right) found Leah with dead tot
I really dont know if she thinks the babys alive or dead.
She said her child was 27 weeks and was stillborn although there appears to be medical evidence to the contrary.
She is very shocked and distressed and finding her strange situation in a foreign hospital very disturbing.
We have a male and female guard with her all the time to make sure she doesnt act on her depression.
Shock news ... The Sun yesterday
Leah, who has sons aged three and 15 months, was accused of murder and quizzed for an hour by a prosecutor yesterday.
She is likely to face magistrates today to decide if they will press ahead with a murder charge.
She is expected to deny the charge.
The Sun told yesterday how Leah was discovered with the dead tot early on Monday by her sister Lydia, 24, and a pal.
She was bleeding heavily and needed a transfusion.
Hours earlier, Leah had felt ill on a night out and gone back to their shared room in the Natalie Hotel in the resort of Malia.
When Lydia returned, she ran screaming to reception.
Coroner Manolis Michalodimitrakis said the newborn boy had bruises all over his face and nails.
He added: He was not sick or malformed at birth and had begun to breathe.
Leah was taken to hospital in the capital Heraklion.
Cops say neither Lydia nor her hols pals Sherene Olusesi, Krystal Donaldson and Leanne Archer-Brown knew she was eight-and-a-half months pregnant.
Last night Leahs parents Isaac and Pamela were caring for their grandsons at the familys £350,000 home in Hither Green, South East London.
Binman Mr Andrew, 54, said: None of us had any idea my daughter was having a child. That was a shock in itself.
Joe Richardson went missing on Monday evening after telling his mum Soffia Rawsterne he was off to play in nearby woods.
Soffia, 43, was helped in her search by pals, who found him dangling by a nylon rope from a swing in Up Holland, Lancs.
Distraught Soffia said last night: Joe was friendly, popular and much loved.
She and Joes stepdad John, 39, were struggling to come to terms with his death.
Up Holland High School head Peter Doyle said: Joe was quiet, bright and articulate.
He had many friends and we had no concerns for him.
But a police source revealed the lads family had said he had been unhappy recently.
He added: They think this is probably related to something in school or the possibility Joe was being bullied.
MORGAN Pound, nine, hanged himself trying to swing from a beam at home in Penryn, Cornwall, a Truro inquest heard. Verdict: Open.JULY 17--Porn star Janine Lindemulder is facing a federal criminal rap for failing to pay about $80,000 in income taxes, according to court records. Lindemulder, 39, was named last month in a misdemeanor information accusing her of stiffing the Internal Revenue Service for taxes due on $350,101 of income in 2004. The charging document, a copy of which you'll find below, was filed June 18 in U.S. District Court in Eugene, Oregon. Lindenmulder, who was previously married to motorcycle fabricator (and "Monster Garage" host) Jesse James, was charged under the name Janine Marie James (though the Lindemulder surname was included as her a/k/a). Lindemulder was arraigned Monday on the federal count and released without bail after entering a not guilty plea. She is scheduled for a September 16 trial before a magistrate judge. Lindemulder, who moved from Oregon to Huntington Beach, California, is one of the porn industry's most recognizable figures. Along with starring in hundreds of adult films, Lindemulder has appeared in Howard Stern's movie "Private Parts" and has dated Motley Crue singer Vince Neil, with whom she appears in a homemade sex tape widely available on the Internet. Lindemulder did not respond to a voice mail message left on her home phone. (2 pages)
Like his first appearance at Reggae Sumfest in 2005, R&B sensation Akon got a reception of deafening screams and overwhelming energy from patrons inside the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex in Montego Bay, St James on Friday night.
The Senegalese-born singer opened with his disc jockey, Benny D, spinning dancehall and hip-hop hits, much to the delight of patrons.
In addition to singing hits including Smack That, Ghetto, Trouble Nobody and Locked Up, the entertainer did a striptease that saw him throwing t-shirts into the crowd.
This gesture, he told the crowd, was open to "the ladies only". Akon, who took time from his Canadian tour for Reggae Sumfest, also invited Jamaica's Tami Chynn on stage for their hit collaboration Frozen.
He also demanded to go 'to his people'. He jumped off the stage, made his way through the VIP area with the help of security officers - stepping on patrons in the process - and over the fence that separated the rest of the patrons.
Friday night's show also included headline acts like 26-year-old R&B singer Keyshia Cole, Queen Ifrica, Jah Cure, who was performing in Montego Bay for the first time in eight years, and the conscious Richie Spice.
Cole's back-up singers and dancers did more to engage the patrons. Queen Ifrica was in her full element as she lit up the venue with her social commentaries and witty lyrics.
There were also noteworthy acts from the electrifying LUST, Terry Linen, who impressed the crowd with his vocal styling and message-filled songs, Lutan Fyah, Pressure and Courtney John.
From her repertoire of hits, Queen Ifrica treated an appreciative audience to Brown Skin,Randy, Sensimina and Below the Waist. There was a heartfelt moment during her duo with Choc'late Allen from Trinidad and Tobago titled Friends.
"You can change the laws of man, but you caan change the laws of God - nuh bring it to Jamaica, keep it to yuself," sang Ifrica, as she debuted her new song that challenged homosexuality.
The Rastafarian daughter ended her set with Daddy Don't Touch Me There.
Richie Spice, who was the closing act, displayed maturity as he delivered songs like The Plane Land, Earth A Run Red, What Is This, and Groovin' My Girl.
Two-year-old Caylee Anthony, shown here in this undated photo, went missing a month ago.
ORLANDO, Florida (AP) -- Prosecutors said Tuesday that the case of a missing 2-year-old is beginning to look like a homicide, and her mother is a person of interest, though she has not been charged.
Casey Anthony does face charges connected with lying to investigators, and Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland set her bond at $500,000 Tuesday, saying the law did not allow him to hold the 22-year-old without bail.
He said he set the amount extraordinarily high because he was worried about evidence of human decomposition allegedly found in Anthony's yard and car. Her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, has been missing since mid-June.
"Not a bit of useful information has been provided by Ms. Anthony as to the whereabouts of her daughter," Strickland said in ordering the bail. "And I would add that the truth and Ms. Anthony are strangers."
Anthony is charged only with child neglect, making false official statements and obstructing a criminal investigation. Authorities say she did not report the girl missing until last week.
Sheriff's deputies said her car smelled of decomposition, and a cadaver-trained German Shepherd noted a smell of human remains in the car and her yard. They said they found a stain, dirt and what seemed to be piece of Caylee's hair in Anthony's trunk.
"The risk of her flight if she is released on some low bond increases exponentially, especially now that she's heard this additional evidence and that she is their person of interest," said assistant state attorney Linda Drane-Burdick.
Defense attorney Jose Baez requested bond around $10,000. He said Anthony's family can't pay a high bond and she has the right be free while facing only low-level charges.
"This is not a capital case, and if it were they certainly would file it, if they had evidence to," Baez said. "There is circumstantial evidence of a possible homicide, I will give them that. But circumstantial evidence has not made them confident enough to charge her with any specific homicide or kidnapping, or any capital offense."
Anthony's parents became concerned after her car was towed from a check-cashing business where it had been parked for days. She and the child lived with her parents, and she told them she worked as an event planner at an area theme park. Watch what the grandmother has to say »
Investigators say Anthony was unemployed, and the woman she claimed was a baby sitter for her daughter seems never to have existed. The two hadn't been home in about a month before investigators were notified that Caylee was missing.
Although incarcerated, Miller sent a letter to THE STAR via courier service which denied and questioned the initial reports.
Earlier this month, the police had reported that Miller could possibly be charged with possession of a contraband after a cellphone was alleged to have been removed from inside his body. In addition, the police in a release also claimed that a cellular charger and Vaseline was also found.
However in Miller's letter to THE STAR he claims that the whole scenario is a 'lie'.
The incarcerated Miller says that the report was "published to damage my name and to lead the public to question my sexual preference."
Miller then goes on to list six parts of the police reports which he says are lies. He writes;
Lie No 1The police person who fed the false story to THE STAR obviously thought I was being held in the section of the Horizon Remand Centre where the police could enter and investigate crimes. Wrong! I was being held in the section of the prison controlled by the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) where the police would not be able to conduct any search!
Lie No 2On Tuesday July 8, 2008 after leaving the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court, I was told about this front-page story. No phone was found anywhere on my body. The story is ridiculous from start to finish and anyone with a little sense could see from the front-page headlines and picture that what was reported was impossible.
Lie No 3On Monday July14 about 10:30 a.m., the leader of the search party who had searched my cell about 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. on Sunday July 6, 2008, ... (name removed) of the JDF, told my lawyer, in my presence that the story that Vaseline was found in my cell was not true.
Lie No 4... also told my lawyer, in my presence, that it was also not true that he had found a cellphone charger in my cell.
Lie No 5No cellphone or landline rang in my body. No telephone rang anywhere during the search by the soldiers, so that was something that the police dreamed about since no police was anywhere nearby.
In fact who was that 'absent policeman' who performed the medical procedure of removing the cellphone as the news report said? Was that police or (soldier) medically trained to perform operations on inmates bodies. This is ridiculous! Unlike the person who is spreading these rumours I do not think of the opposite of sex, just a man to a woman or a woman to a man.
No cellphone was removed from my body with or without gloves. When my lawyer asked ... why I was not taken to the Kingston Public Hospital and allowed to 'pass out' the phone like what they do to aeroplane passengers who swallow cocaine, ... told my lawyer that he could not give him a statement and that the one hour interview time was up.
In ending, Miller also questioned how he could have had the two cellphones since he was searched three times before entering the remand centre.
Despite Mr Miller's claims, when contacted by THE STAR yesterday, Karl Angell, director of communications for the Jamaica Constabulary Force, said that the police are sticking to their report. He said that Miller is yet to be charged for the incident.
Miller's latest incarceration came after he was said to have violated the conditions of a bail agreement. He was taken to the Horizon Remand Centre. The police say that they later organised a search of his cell after they suspected that he had a cellphone in his possession.
The search is reported to have yielded two cellular phones, one which was alleged to have been found in Miller's body and subsequently removed after gloves were requested.
Jones, who pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful wounding, appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday. He is accused of using a knife to stab his sister because she was "lacking in manners".
"Your honour, every day she coming to my house and don't even have the courtesy to say 'good morning' or 'good evening'," the accused said. He further continued: "One day I see her come there and do the same thing, so I tell har fi come out a mi house and then I saw her with a knife, so I went to take it from her and she got cut," said Jones.
When Resident Magistrate Glen Brown asked the complainant for her report on the matter, she told the court: "From last October, your honour, we have not been on speaking terms and I try to avoid him every way. He is the one who does not respond when I say 'good morning' or 'good evening'."
The complainant went on to say that she normally goes to the house to visit the accused man's wife because she just had a baby. "One particular morning, he attacked me, saying I must come out of his house because I have no manners and I went outside in my car ... . He followed me, I had a knife in my hand that I was using to clean something in my car. He grabbed the knife and stabbed me in the leg and scraped my chin."
In response, RM Glen Brown addressed the matter by simply asking Jones to reconcile with his sister, "You find a way to talk back to your sister before I sentence you, okay? You should be wearing the dress, you are behaving like a girl, following up argument."
He is scheduled to reappear in court on August 8.Two foreigners who were arrested for allegedly selling pirated DVDs will be appearing in court tomorrow.
The men who were charged for breaches of the Copyright Act will be in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.
The police report that the men, who are brothers from Ghana, were held during police operations in downtown Kingston and Bull Bay, St Andrew.
Arrested and charged are 26-year-old Rufie Abukar and 36-year-old Allsane Abukar.
Policemen attached to the Organised Crime Investigation Division reportedly arrested the younger brother on Orange Street in downtown Kingston, after he was allegedly caught selling more than 300 pirated DVDs. Subsequent investigations led the police to a premises in Bull Bay where the other brother was arrested for other breaches in the Copyright Act. A number of computers fitted with DVD recorders and more than 2,500 pirated DVDs were reportedly seized at the premises.KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) A feared police commander known as "Rambo," who led a commando-style team accused of multiple killings across Jamaica, retired Saturday and said he plans to pursue an acting career.
Reneto Adams, considered effective but ruthless as commander of an elite, anti-crime unit, is a media sensation in this Caribbean nation who rarely appears in public without his signature aviator sunglasses, helmet and black c****at gear.
Jamaicans often ask for his autograph, and local musicians have compared him in song to Rambo, Saddam Hussein and Dirty Harry. He made his TV debut this year in the soap opera "Royal Palm Estate," a love-and-intrigue-story based in Jamaica.
Adams announced his retirement after 41 years with the department, saying he has turned 59 years old the mandatory retirement age for Jamaican police.
At a news conference Saturday, Adams expressed some regret for a 2001 shootout involving his squad that left an estimated 28 people dead in the capital's Tivoli Gardens neighborhood.
"The criminal elements have always tried to make this community hostile to the police," he told reporters. "So for that, I am eternally sorry and in sorrow for the circumstances that took place."
The Crime Management Unit that Adams headed was created in 2000 to c****at rising violence in Kingston. A local rights group, Families Against State Terrorism, has linked his team to at least 40 extrajudicial killings. It was disbanded in 2003.
Adams was permanently relegated to desk duties in 2004 because of a raid the year before in which four people were killed, although he and five squad members were later cleared in the deaths.
The day after his acquittal, he released a dancehall song called "Serve and Protect," in which he warned criminals that he was returning to the streets. He also accused rights groups of "trying to stop me from doing my job while hoodlums continue to destroy the only livelihood we have."
He said Saturday that he will focus on acting and plans an autobiography.
Hong Kong's English newspaper The South China Morning Post reported Friday that Chinese authorities have issued a secret ban on blacks, Mongolians and other "social undesirables" from Beijing's bars during the Olympics.
As the content on South China Morning Post's site is for subscribers only, here is an excerpt of the article c/o the Beijing drinking blog Beijing Boyce:
Beijing authorities are secretly planning to ban black people and others it considers social undesirables from entering the city's bars during the Olympic Games, a move that would contradict the official slogan, "One World, One Dream".
Bar owners near the Workers' Stadium in central Beijing say they have been forced by Public Security Bureau officials to sign pledges agreeing not to let black people enter their premises....Security officials are targeting Sanlitun, which Olympic organisers expect to be a key destination for foreign tourists looking for a party during the Games.
The pledges that Sanlitun bar owners had been instructed to sign agreed to stop a variety of activities in their establishments, including dancing and serving customers with black skin, they said.
China's preeminent English-language media analysis site Danwei didn't lend credence to the SMCP report, calling the high-level ban "unlikely." However Jeremy Goldkorn writes on Danwei that "it is highly plausible that some low level cops have issued such instructions, especially with the current state of high alert in Beijing making officials and government agencies paranoid and very nervous about foreigners."
Further investigation by Beijing Boyce, who interviewed Beijing bar owners on the alleged ban, found that low-level Beijing cops have been visiting the capital city's watering holes and warning owners and employees to keep their eye on black patrons. According to an update Saturday on Beijing Boyce:
An owner said police met with Sanlitun bar reps and told them to monitor black patrons. He said the police told the reps that drug dealers are predominantly black in the area. He said the police did not ask bar owners to ban blacks.
Dancehall superstar Bounty Killer was arrested early this morning at Reggae Sumfest being held in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
In a performance that started off very upbeat and was initially warmly received in front of the estimated 19,000 in attendance the mood changed dramatically as Bounty was booed when he began to disparage fellow artists Ninja Man and Beenie Man. With both unkind and, daresay, juvenile commentary that included physical threats, sexually charged comments and a slew of obsenities Bounty served to dampen the mood of what was proving to be a full but engaging lineup in front of a packed audience and large international media presence.
After Bounty's performance the MC made an announcement that the police were closely monitoring all performances and those in violation of the laws would be arrested.
Beenie Man who closed the show made light of Bounty's indiscretions (saying he should be forgiven) and played a set that left the capacity crowd streaming out at minutes after 6am fully satisfied with what proved, on the balance, to be an excellent night of terrific music.
LOS ANGELES (AP) Batman has sent Spidey packing as king of Hollywood's box-office superheroes.
"The Dark Knight" took in a record $155.34 million in its first weekend, topping the previous best of $151.1 million for "Spider-Man 3" in May 2007 and pacing Hollywood to its biggest weekend ever, according to studio estimates Sunday.
"We knew it would be big, but we never expected to dominate the marketplace like we did," said Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros., which released "The Dark Knight." The movie should shoot past the $200 million mark by the end of the week, he said."This weekend is such a juggernaut," said Nikki Rocco, head of distribution for Universal, whose musical "Mamma Mia!" debuted at No. 2 with $27.6 million.
Factoring in higher admission prices, "Spider-Man 3" may have sold slightly more tickets than "The Dark Knight."
At 2007's average price of $6.88, "Spider-Man 3" sold 21.96 million tickets over opening weekend. Media By Numbers estimates today's average movie prices at $7.08, which means "The Dark Knight" would have sold 21.94 million tickets.
Revenue totals for "The Dark Knight" could change when final numbers are released Monday.
The movie's release was preceded by months of buzz and speculation over the performance of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, Batman's nemesis. Ledger, who died in January from an accidental prescription-drug overdose, played the Joker as a demonic presence, his performance prompting predictions that the role might earn him a posthumous Academy Award nomination.
"The average opening gross of the last five `Batman' movies is $47 million. This tripled that, and for a reason," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of Media By Numbers. "A big part of that was the Heath Ledger mystique and a phenomenal performance that absolutely deserves the excitement surrounding it."
"The Dark Knight" reunites director Christopher Nolan with his "Batman Begins" star Christian Bale, whose vigilante crime-fighter is taunted and tested by Ledger's Joker as the villain unleashes violence and chaos on the city of Gotham.
Overseas, "The Dark Knight" added $40 million in 20 countries where it began opening Wednesday, including Australia, Mexico and Brazil. The film opens in Great Britain this weekend and rolls out to most of the rest of the world over the next few weeks.
"The Dark Knight," which cost $185 million to make, also broke the "Spider-Man 3" record for best debut in IMAX large-screen theaters with $6.2 million. "Spider-Man 3" opened with $4.7 million in IMAX cinemas.
"Every single show is sold out," said Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president. "We're adding shows as much as we can, but we're at 100 percent capacity."
On opening day Friday, "The Dark Knight" also took in more money than previously counted, Fellman said. The film pulled in a record $67.85 million, up nearly $1.5 million from the studio's estimates a day earlier.
The previous opening-day record also had been held by "Spider-Man 3" with $59.8 million.
Women accounted for most of the audience for "Mamma Mia!", which Universal opened as counter-programming to the male-dominated audience for "The Dark Knight."
"With the crowded summer, we knew we would have to find the right weekend, and this seemed like the perfect one considering three-quarters of our audience was female," Rocco said.
Based on the stage musical set to the tunes of ABBA, "Mamma Mia!" features Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Julie Walters and Christine Baranski.
The weekend's other new wide release, 20th Century Fox's animated family flick "Space Chimps," opened at No. 7 with $7.4 million.
Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC. Final figures will be released Monday.
1. "The Dark Knight," $155.34 million.
2. "Mamma Mia!", $27.6 million.
3. "Hanc**k," $14 million.
4. "Journey to the Center of the Earth," $11.9 million.
5. "Hellboy II: The Golden Army," $10 million.
6. "WALL-E," $9.8 million.
7. "Space Chimps," $7.4 million.
8. "Wanted," $5.1 million.
9. "Get Smart," $4.1 million.
10. "Kung Fu Panda," $1.8 million.
Ready for a Hip-Hop conspiracy theory? Well a week ago, G-Unit dropped their second album Terminate On Sight (T.O.S.) and if you dont know that, stop reading and go find something better to do with your time. Anyways, after the album dropped, initial reports were stating that based on first day numbers, T.O.S. was slated to move about 700k units in the first week.
Then, MediaTakeOut (renowned for posting bullshit) leaked this supposedly internal email:
From: xxxxxx@umusic.com
Sent: Fri Jun 27 16:13:53 2008
Subject:Guys we understand u are pissed, all we can say is 2nd week #s will be out of here.
We acknowledge we SIGNIFICANTLY underestimated the G unit fan base and online awareness. Therefore we have ordered an immediate increase in production, effective 9am today. Early first week estimates stand at around 700K to 800K US. We are working to rectify the international shortcomings and put product in place by early next week. Don will be in touch.
Other reports were stating that theyd only shipped about 100,000 copies. Now this could just be a rumor started by the G-Unit camp or MTO, but we wont argue that here. Note though that they only mention INTERNATIONAL shortcomings (does that include the U.S.?)
Here we are at week 2, and the numbers posted above from HDD (which usually underreports a little bit - they put the carter at just under a milli when soundscan said over a milli), and we see that T.O.S. actually sold almost exactly 100k copies exactly what Interscope was to have shipped? Interesting.
Now the counter to that? Well, I dont buy albums in the stores anymore so I cant comment on that, but I dont remember ever seeing Amazon.com out of stock on the album, and the last time I checked, they were included in soundscan (speaking of, why arent iTunes and Amazon downloads included?). Add to that, T.O.S. was the #1 rap album on iTunes and #3 album overall and then dropped to #13 But perhaps people dont like buying albums online. You decide.
To close out, goddamn Waynes still going! Doing more than T.O.S.s first week a month after its own release. Well at least they outsold John Mayer and before you guys on about who cares about sales remember that 50 started it.
P.S.:Now dis shit is old but i kno the ppl who love 50 wouldnt post this cuz its embara**in and hes prolly lookin 4 pity so u can go out and buy his dumb CD,watever still f**k 50 4 puttin out dis garbage he can do much better.
Just a few years ago, Scott Storch was one of the top producers in hip hop, living in a $10.5 million mansion on an exclusive Miami island, driving luxury cars and dating the likes of Paris Hilton and Lil Kim and Brooke Hogan?
Nowadays, Scott Storch, 34, is missing in action. He owes over $500,000 in real estate taxes and had a warrant out for his arrest when he failed to show up in court in a child-support case last month. He has not had a top 10 hit in three years.
Wow, working with Paris Hilton and Brooke Hogan and he hasnt had a hit in 3 years??? Damn son !!LOL
Many say the fame went to his head. He had a public flare-up with Aguilera over the cost of a private jet to fly him out to produce her 06 album Back to Basics. He also traded insults with fellow hitmaker Timbaland, who called Storch just the piano man in one track.
Timbaland is somewhere in his Virginia Beach mansion laughing his ass off right now.
Life's a bitch named Paris Hilton!!SMH....
More details of an apparently gang-related triple murder are coming to light a day after the victims were found shot to death in an abandoned SUV.
Adrian Inglis Bannerman, 29; Aaron Brendan Macdonald, 20; and Kurt Atiba Charles, 27, all of Toronto, were found shot to death inside a gold Nissan Pathfinder parked on Lunness Road, in the Browns Line and Valermo Drive area, early Sunday. Authorities made the grisly discovery just after 3:30am.
Someone had called 9-1-1 to alert authorities to the murders.
Detectives said the trio was killed in a drive-by shooting and on Monday police revealed the man who apparently parked the bullet-riddled vehicle in Etobicoke contacted them Sunday. That driver is apparently being considered a fourth victim in this case.
"We consider the driver to be a victim. He's a surviving victim from the shooting and he's a witness," confirms Det. Sgt. Dean Burkes.
The driver was behind the wheel of Nissan Pathfinder when a black SUV pulled up beside it and opened fire, killing the three men in the passenger seats.
"The information we have is that the vehicle was in motion, and the suspects were operating another motor vehicle ... and pulled up alongside the victims' vehicle and opened fire on the occupants," adds Det. Burkes.
"We are looking at any gang affiliations or gang associations trying to establish if it is in fact a gang related incident."
Authorities said all three victims were all at Fluid nightclub on Richmond Street before they were killed.
On Monday relatives of the slain men gathered at the spot where their loved ones were found murdered.
"Adrian Bannerman is a good boy," said a grieving relative. "He's not related to any gang members. And this is very sad, what happened...(We were) very close."
Investigators want to speak with anyone with information or who saw the victims at the nightclub Saturday night before the murders. If you can help, call (416) 808-7399 or Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-TIPS.
These three murders mark the city's 33rd, 34th and 35th homicides of the year and the end of a deadly week in Toronto. Six people were murdered in seven days across the GTA.
It has been five years since dancehall star Mr Vegas toured Europe, and in an effort to make up for lost time, the popular singjay brought fans up to speed with his repertoire of soaring hits during some recent performances there.
"I truly appreciate the support that my fans in Europe have given me over years," Vegas said. "I have spent five years away and I really wanted to pay them back with unforgettable performances ... my plan was successful!"
Mr Vegas' European tour, sponsored by Media Com, consisted of 10 cities. On the tour, he was joined by a full ensemble, including Thugz band, DJ Fatta and High Energy dancers.
While in Cologne, Germany, at Summerjam, Mr Vegas was billed as the closing act, following Queen Ifrica, Busy Signal, Ce'Cile and a host of other Jamaican artistes.
Mr Vegas' stint at Rototom Sunsplash in Osoppo, Italy, was equally explosive. On this line-up, he joined members of the dancehall massive, including Voicemail, Bugle and Wayne Marshall, to name a few.
Although Mr Vegas was not the official closing act of the big Reggae Festival in Antibes, France, some time after his segment, Mr Vegas was asked to join the wildly popular French Dancehall group Dub Inc on stage to close the show with his hit Mus Come A Road.
"Mr Vegas' performances in Europe exceeded my expec-tations," says manager Garfield 'Chin' Bourne of Irish and Chin, Inc "I think that Vegas understands the importance of giving quality, flawless shows ... he definitely has mastered the live performance thing."
In August 2008, Mr Vegas will embark on his first tour of Africa and return to Europe for a long-awaited tour of the UK.
Attention would-be thieves: make sure you actually get away with your ill gotten gains before trying them out.
That's a lesson two men in Monroe, Washington may have wished they learned before being arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
The suspects are accused of breaking into a local department store earlier this month and carting off an array of goods, including several pillows, hammocks and backpacks. It didn't take police there long to find them. Cops were able to follow a long trail of cardboard containers and other discarded items that led them right to the people they were seeking.
And when they found them, they didn't offer any resistance - the duo had apparently decided to test out their new belongings and were sound asleep on the items when authorities arrived.
One was snoring away on the hammock while the other was caught sawing wood on several of the comfy pillows. How out of it were these two guys? Cops were actually able to take pictures of them in the Land of Nod (top left) before waking them to the cruel reality of a far less comfortable jail cell.
The pair, one 25, the other 27, remain behind bars and haven't been able to post bail. When asked about their probe, cops would only say it appears alcohol may have been involved.
As to whether the men are prepared to confess to the crime they're accused of in the face of such overwhelming evidence, it might be safe to say they're sleeping on it.

Radovan Karadzic grew a long, white beard to conceal his identity and even managed to openly practise alternative medicine while in hiding, officials said Tuesday in revealing details of the war crimes fugitive's capture after more than a decade on the run.
Karadzic, the wartime leader of Bosnian Serbs, was arrested Monday night in a Belgrade suburb, officials said. A judge has ordered his transfer to the United Nations war crimes tribunal in The Hague, Netherlands, to face genocide charges, war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic said.
Karadzic has three days to appeal the ruling. His lawyer, Sveta Vujacic, said he will launch the process to fight extradition on the last day, Friday, to thwart authorities' wishes for his immediate transfer.
Karadzic -- accused of masterminding the deadly wartime siege of Sarajevo and the executions of up to 8,000 Muslims in Srebrenica during Bosnia's 1992-95 war, Europe's worst massacre since the Second World War -- had topped the tribunal's most-wanted list for years.
Government official Rasim Ljajic said Karadzic, once known for his distinctively coifed hairdo, was unrecognizable.
"His false identity was very convincing," Vukcevic said. "Even his landlords were unaware of his identity."
Karadzic used a false name, Dragan Dabic, Ljajic said.
The editor in chief of Belgrade's "Healthy Life" magazine, Goran Kojic, said he was shocked when he saw the photo of Karadzic on TV, recognizing him as a regular contributor to the publication.
"It never even occurred to me that this man with a long white beard and hair was Karadzic," Kojic said.
Karadzic's whereabouts had been a mystery since he went on the run in 1998, with his hideouts reportedly including monasteries and mountain caves in remote eastern Bosnia.
Serbian security services found Karadzic, 63, on Monday while looking for another top war crimes suspect facing genocide charges, Bosnian Serb wartime commander general Ratko Mladic, Ljajic said.
Karadzic "was arrested Monday evening near Belgrade while changing locations," he said. "International pressure was to arrest Mladic, and a few had expected that Karadzic would be captured."
A judge finished interrogating Karadzic on Tuesday and issued the order for his extradition.
Ljajic refused to reveal more details about his arrest, saying Karadzic's movements are being analyzed and will be kept secret until Mladic's capture. "We are absolutely determined to finish this job," he said.
Karadzic -- disguised by the bushy beard and glasses -- managed to move freely while living in a new part of Belgrade and working at a private clinic, Ljajic said, holding up a photo of a much thinner-looking Karadzic.
Governments worldwide hailed the arrest of the man described by the tribunal as the mastermind of "scenes from hell, written on the darkest pages of human history."
German Chancellor Angela Merkel called it a "historic moment."
"The victims need to know: Massive human rights violations do not go unpunished," she said in Berlin.
European Union foreign ministers meeting in Brussels said the arrest sets Serbia firmly on the path toward EU membership.
"We have waited for this for 13 years. Finally. Finally," said French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said in Brussels. "This is a very good thing for the rapprochement of Serbia with the European Union."
In Sarajevo, Bosnian Muslims rushed into the streets Monday night to celebrate the news of Karadzic's arrest.
"This is a very important day for the victims who have waited for this arrest for over a decade," said the tribunal's head prosecutor, Serge Brammertz. "It clearly demonstrates that nobody is beyond the reach of the law and that sooner or later all fugitives will be brought to justice."
During the siege of Sarajevo that began in 1992, Bosnian Serb troops starved, sniped and b****arded the city centre, operating from strongholds in Pale and Vraca high above the city and controlling nearly all roads in and out.
Inhabitants were kept alive by a thin lifeline of food aid and supplies provided by UN donors and peacekeepers. Walking down the street to shop for groceries or driving down a main road that became known as "Sniper Alley" was a risk to their lives.
The siege was not officially over until February 1996. An estimated 10,000 people died.
The international tribunal indicted Karadzic on genocide charges in 1995. The psychiatrist and self-styled poet-turned-hardline Serbian nationalist continue to wield behind-the-scenes power over Bosnian Serbs, occasionally appearing in public before going into hiding three years later.
The worst massacre was in Srebrenica in 1995, when Serb troops led by Mladic overran the UN-protected enclave sheltering Bosnian Muslims. Mladic's troops rounded up the entire population and took the men away for execution.
By war's end in late 1995, an estimated 250,000 people were dead and another 1.8 million driven from their homes.
Under the UN indictment, Karadzic faces 11 counts of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and other atrocities committed between 1992 to 1996.
He would be the 44th Serb suspect sent to the tribunal in The Hague. The others include former president Slobodan Milosevic, who died there in 2006 while on trial.
LONDON: The British Army says it is considering a recruitment drive in Jamaica as it struggles to find enough soldiers to meet its international commitments.
The military says it is weighing whether to send an Army "overseas selection team" to Jamaica. The Caribbean country is a former British colony and remains a part of the Commonwealth.
The military has had difficulty recruiting and retaining soldiers as it maintains its deployment in Iraq and engages a resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan.
The Army said in a statement Sunday that it is proud to recruit soldiers from countries with close historical ties to Britain.
The British military already employs some 600 Jamaican soldiers. They are among about 12,000 foreign and Commonwealth personnel who serve in its armed forces

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man suspected of shooting his ex-girlfriend outside Crowley Maritime early Friday has shot and killed himself in a Northside home surrounded by police, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Floacia Bell Brookins, 46 -- a longtime employee of Crowley -- was shot as she arrived for work at the Talleyrand facility just after 6 a.m.
Brookins was shot once in the neck and once in the back. She was in critical condition at Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center.
Within three hours, the SWAT team was called to a home in the 11000 block of Oak Lawn Road, where 50-year-old James Lawson Williams III refused to come out.
Early Friday afternoon, after police stopped hearing responses from inside the home, officers entered and found Williams dead of a gunshot wound.
Williams once dated Brookins. When the relationship soured, Williams would not leave her alone, her brother told Channel 4's Adam Landau.
"They had a lot of domestic problems," Joel Bell said. "He stalked her for, like, a month. My brother-in-law was bringing her back and forth to work. I guess he finally caught her by herself and did what he did."
On July 4, Williams was arrested for pointing a gun at Brookins.
Brookins' family members said the woman feared for her life and nothing he did, including getting a restraining order, could keep Williams away.
"He didn't have to do this. There were other ways. He didn't have to do this to her. She's a hardworking young lady, and she has been for a long time. He didn't have to do this to her," said Brookins' aunt, Parthenia Corner.
The early-morning shooting occurred in a parking lot that is on Crowley property.
Witnesses said they saw Brookins begging for her life when a man shot her, then sped away.
Police closed off the front entrance of the 67-acre port terminal while detectives were investigating. Workers arriving for their Friday shift were taken in a different entrance.
Police at the scene confirmed that they had wanted to question Williams about the shooting.
