Gustav Claims Several Lives

August 31, 2008

findImg.php?pic_size=200&table_name=news_img_tab&table_field=img_id&img_id=1775 The Government estimates that as many as 11 persons may have died during the passage of Tropical storm Gustav.

The police have confirmed seven deaths directly related to Tropical Storm Gustav. But the authorities are yet to arrive at a final figure, and Prime Minister Golding fears it might rise to as many as 11.

Much of the government's attention is now focused on communities along the Hope River in St. Andrew such as Tavern and Kintyre, where several houses collapsed, and a number of these deaths occurred. Other persons might have died while seeking to cross rivers elsewhere and others were washed away in their vehicles. Image

Mr. Golding says the government is now determined to put a stop to the construction of houses in vulnerable locations such as those along the Hope River. He attributes this practice, in many instances, to faulty decisions by some politicians.

"The truth of the matter is that some of us are too careless and some of us politicians are too irresponsible, in the case of Hope Tavern for example, I am advised that it was declared for many years ago as a no build zone and a politician of great note thought it appropriate to go and allocate the lands to the people as a result the people went there and build their houses and its something that should never have been done, and we are paying the price now," he said.

As many as 150 houses were destroyed, a significant number of them in Portland.

Regarding the country's infrastructure, the prime minister highlighted the destruction of the Harbour View bridge, linking St. Thomas and the Corporate Area as well as the Westmoreland Bridge in St. Mary.

He says work will start almost immediately to erect a temporary bailey bridge across the Harbour View span to restore that vital link between the Eastern side of the island and the country's capital.

In the meantime, the prime minister says the government is very reluctant to legislate compulsory location of citizens from vulnerable communities. A St. Catherine farmer died early Friday morning as heavy rains caused his house to collapse. The dead man is Gilbert Wright,60, of Marley near Point Hill in the parish.

Former Jamaica Labour Party Councillor for the Ginger Ridge Division, Hyman Smith told RJR News that the house collapsed during the a heavy down pour.
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) - A Malaysian welder had to have a nut removed from around his penis after an attempt to lengthen it before he gets engaged next week went embarra**ingly wrong, a news report said Sunday. The nut got stuck on his penis following an erection, the Star newspaper said, forcing him to seek help at a hospital in southern Johor state. Staff from the Sultanah Aminah hospital had to drain some *lo** from the penis and cut away a top layer of skin before the object could be removed, the newspaper said. It said the fire and rescue department were also involved in trying to remove the nut from the unnamed welder, who is in his 20s and hoped the nut would weigh down his penis to make it longer. "The patient is now recovering and we hope to discharge him today (Sunday)," hospital director Daud Abdul Rahim told the Star. On August 25, another young man in Kuala Lumpur had tried to increase his sexual prowess by slipping a steel ring around his penis, forcing the fire department to cut off the ring after doctors were unable to remove it, the newspaper said.

As the clock continued to tick down for Prodigy, his fans, family and industry buddies came out to support the rapper at B.B. Kings, last night. For those who dont recall, P pleaded guilty to unlawful gun possession charges on October 9th, 2007. Being his third gun conviction, the Queensbridge lyricist was facing a fifteen-year sentence. Having struck a plea bargain, though, gave Prodigy a commuted sentence of 3˝ years in jail.

The facility was packed to the teeth. Armed with a mass array of video cameras and digital ones capturing the event, Prodigy was joined on stage by many of his Infamous Mobb affiliates, Alchemist, Big Noyd and Cormega. I came out to wish the homie well, Darren Simonson said as he drove from Long Island for the event. P is one of my favorites and I hope that he keeps his head up, he continued.

With the streets showcasing their love of the prison bound rapper, the HNIC performed Shook Ones Pt. 2, Quiet Storm, A, B, Cs and their hits with G-Unit.

Teen stabbed to death

August 30, 2008

A 16-YEAR-OLD has been stabbed to death in Liverpool. Cops say the lad was attacked after becoming involved in an argument at a party. Police were called to an address in Liverpool, just after 7am today where they discovered the youth had been stabbed. The boy died later in hospital. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by detectives. Superintendent Graham Yip of Merseyside Police said: It appears that this incident took place following an argument at a party at this property. We are appealing for anyone who was at the address during the course of this party to come forward and make contact with the police. House-to-house inquiries are ongoing and there is a high visibility police presence in the area. Fifth Meanwhile a fifth teenager has been arrested by police investigating the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old in Walthamstow, east London, last Sunday. Charles Junior Hendricks was knifed in the chest. A routine police patrol found him collapsed on the ground at around 1.40am and he was pronounced dead at Whipps Cross Hospital shortly afterwards. Two males, aged 19 and 17, who were arrested nearby shortly afterwards remain on police bail. Another two 16-year-old boys arrested on Thursday are still being questioned by detectives. And police today revealed they have arrested a further 16-year-old boy, who is being held at an east London police station. Charles, known as CJ, was the 24th teenager to be fatally stabbed in London this year

PHNOM PENH (Reuters) - The price of rat meat has quadrupled in Cambodia this year as inflation has put other meat beyond the reach of poor people, officials said on Wednesday.

With consumer price inflation at 37 percent according to the latest central bank estimate, demand has pushed a kilogram of rat meat up to around 5,000 riel (69 pence) from 1,200 riel last year.

Spicy field rat dishes with garlic thrown in have become particularly popular at a time when beef costs 20,000 riel a kg.

Officials said rats were fleeing to higher ground from flooded areas of the lower Mekong Delta, making it easier for villagers to catch them.

"Many children are happy making some money from selling the animals to the markets, but they keep some for their family," Ly Marong, an agriculture official, said by telephone from the Koh Thom district on the border with Vietnam.

"Not only are our poor eating it, but there is also demand from Vietnamese living on the border with us."

He estimated that Cambodia supplied more than a tonne of live rats a day to Vietnam.

Rats are also eaten widely in Thailand, while a state government in eastern India this month encouraged its people to eat.

Usain was on course for 9.52 in Olympic final
published: Saturday | August 30, 2008

ZURICH, Switzerland (CMC):

Usain Bolt's coach Glen Mills believes the Jamaican sprint marvel was on track to run 9.52 seconds in the 100 metres at the Beijing Olympics, had he not eased up to celebrate at the finish.

Bolt clocked 9.69 seconds to win gold in a world record-breaking performance but slowed to celebrate the phenomenal win 10 metres before the finish.

"Bolt's first 60 metres was very good. I was told that with an all-out finish, after the opening 60 metres, Usain was projected to run a 9.52," Mills told reporters ahead of yesterday's Weltklasse Golden League meeting in Zurich, Wednesday evening.

Own standard

"I haven't seen the complete biomechanical report from Beijing yet, but I can say that Usain had a good start by his own standard."

Meanwhile, any doubts as to whether Bolt would continue to run the 100 metres after his incredible season this year were put to rest by Mills.

"This is only his first year of running the 100 metres, his first year with serious work in the event," said Mills.

"In two more years, he should be peaking at this distance and, by then, I am certain he will be down to there (9.50 or faster)."

A FIVE-YEAR-OLD child shot her brother in the head with an airgun, the boys grandfather said today.

Rashid Rullah, who is 18-months-old, had been playing in his familys back garden with his father and sister when the tragic accident happened shortly before 7pm yesterday in Washwood Heath, Birmingham.

His father, handyman Bakht Zaman, was using the gun for target practice moments before the accident.

He then turned his back to answer his mobile phone.

But the 29-year-old left the gun loaded in preparation for his next shot.

The boys grandfather Bakht Rammand, 48, said: There are no words to describe it really. The whole road loves them.

The toddler remains in a critical condition in Birmingham Childrens Hospital.

Mr Rammand said the boys mother Fazilat Zaman, 25, had spent the night at Birminghams Childrens Hospital but was now sleeping at home before returning to her sons bedside.

He said his grandson remained unconscious and seriously ill in hospital after his sister Asna Almas shot him.

Doctors were unable to operate on the boy as he was still unconscious, he said.

Mr Rammand said: The children usually come down here about 10.30am and spend all day, every day with us. At 4pm they usually go home. When they went home yesterday they were playing with their dad in the garden.

He was target practising with the gun and then somebody rang his mobile. The gun was ready to fire and he answered the phone.

Rashids sister is really active and she got hold of the gun and pointed it at her brother. He was on the high ground and she was on the low ground. It hit him right in the middle of the back of his head.

Busy Graces Fader Magazine

August 31, 2008

findImg.php?pic_size=200&table_name=news_img_tab&table_field=img_id&img_id=1773 Dancehall star Busy Signal has been featured in yet another international magazine, The Fader. The New York based magazine recently interviewed Busy and has made him the cover feature for their August issue. Busy's sophomore album Loaded is set to be released on Tuesday, September 9 on VP Records and the deejay has been getting much publicity leading up to the release. It seems everyone wants to go behind the music and lyrics of Busy Signal; Fader being the most recently released with this feature excerpt.

Born Reyano Gordon, Busy was the first young gunner to put a face and a sound to the name Alliance and in the last year or so, his grimy and lyrical tunes like Curphew and These Are the Days have been played on almost every radio station as if it were the soundtrack of disc jockeys. Unknown Number with its "gangsta nah answer no private call" catchphrases (You number block, no badda caaall mi/ Cause mi nah go answer even if a mi mommy) is the ubiquitous ringtone, perfectly capturing the paranoia beneath the relative quiet.

On Pon the Edge, a fast tune that held at number one on a preponderance of dancehall charts throughout the spring, fitting somewhere between Dutty Wine and Hot Wuk. This phenomenal run of hits is a surprise comeback for Busy, who mysteriously dropped out of the juggling for an almost yearlong silence after making noise in 2006 with the signature tunes Step Out and Not Going Down. "We never quiet," he says. "We always be voicing songs, but at those times nobody beef of 2006 and 2007 began, and it isn't necessarily productive to do." Suffice to say it had its root in the mother of all Dancehall clashes, the never ending c****at between Beenie Man and Bounty Killer that stretches back to the early '90s.

It's almost impossible to separate his own powerful musical appeal from the violence in which he sees in the society like in the track No Escape. On it, Busy launches into a hyper-fast, arrhythmic narrative in dense patois, detailing betrayal and police roadblocks en route to an informer's hiding place, only to break into chilling singsong a minute twenty into the track with "Mr. Death comes knocking at your door" "No escape!" Seen from his point of view, Busy has taken the struggle and stress of garrison life and transformed them into a museum piece of cinematic wordplay.

"I'll just have a little cake with my children and we'll probably watch some cartoons," the pop star said in an interview with ABC News' "Good Morning America." Jackson talked by phone with ABC on Thursday.

Jackson, a twice-divorced father of three, said he aims to provide a normal life for his children.

"I am letting them enjoy their childhood as much as possible. ... I let them go to the arcade and go to the movies and do things. I think that comes naturally. I want them to get to do things I didn't get to do," he said.

"I get pretty emotional when I see them having a wonderful time," he said.

As for his career, Jackson said he's "looking forward to doing a lot of great things. ... I think the best is yet to come in my true humble opinion."

He said recording the blockbuster albums "Thriller" and "Off the Wall" were the happiest times of his life.

"That meant very much to me and seemed to be received so beautifully by the public and the world. You know, I enjoyed it very much," he said.

Jackson was asked if he had received a card from AARP, which focuses on the needs and concerns of those 50 and older.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Authorities have taken out another five warrants against a former Cub Scout leader accused of molesting children.
Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter said Friday five more children have come forward claiming they were abused by 44-year-old Harry Brett Taylor. Porter says the number of alleged victims is now at 15, with more expected to come forward as the investigation continues.
The initial charges against Taylor started with two boys, including a family member, who have said they were molested by the former Gwinnett County library official.

Taylor was arrested in July. He remains in the Gwinnett County jail without bond. A bond hearing is scheduled for Sept. 4.

A computer virus is alive and well on the International Space Station (ISS).

Nasa has confirmed that laptops carried to the ISS in July were infected with a virus known as Gammima.AG.

The worm was first detected on earth in August 2007 and lurks on infected machines waiting to steal login names for popular online games.

Nasa said it was not the first time computer viruses had travelled into space and it was investigating how the machines were infected.

Orbital outbreak

Space news website SpaceRef broke the story about the virus on the laptops that astronauts took to the ISS.

Nasa told SpaceRef that no command or control systems of the ISS were at risk from the malicious program.

The laptops infected with the virus were used to run nutritional programs and let the astronauts periodically send e-mail back to Earth.

The laptops carried by astronauts reportedly do not have any anti-virus software on them to prevent infection.

Once it has scooped up passwords and login names the Gammima.AG worm virus tries to send them back to a central server. It targets a total of 10 games most of which are popular in the Far East such as Maple Story, HuangYi Online and Talesweaver.

Nasa is working with partners on the ISS to find out how the virus got on to the laptop in the first place.

The ISS has no direct net connection and all data traffic travelling from the ground to the spacecraft is scanned before being transmitted.

It is thought that the virus might have travelled via a flash or USB drive owned by an astronaut and taken into space.

The space agency also plans to put in place security systems to stop such incidents happening in the future.

Nasa told Wired News that viruses had infected laptops taken to the ISS on several occasions but the outbreaks always only been a "nuisance".

Yesterday I noted Peter Oborne's chilling article about a young woman called Memory, in Zimbabwe.  Memory had her buttocks repeatedly thrashed by wooden poles - all because she is a supporter of the opposition to Robert Mugabe.

I was speaking to Peter about his undercover journalism yesterday evening and he has emailed me two photographs of Memory's savagely beaten body.  The Daily Mail - quite understandably for a family newspaper - didn't want to publish the photographs but I reproduce them below as one powerful proof of the horror that Mugabe is presiding over in Zimbabwe.  They are gruesome so please do not press "Continue reading..." if you are disturbed by *lo**y images.

If you missed Peter's article - which describes a process of "electoral genocide" - it's here.

INTERNET LOVE

August 25, 2008
Started By alligcold11 Comments

Dear Pastor,

I have a situation that I need your advice on. Eight months ago, I met a wonderful young lady on the Internet. She lives in Jamaica and I live in the States. The problem is after meeting online we exchanged numbers, and have been communicating via emails and over the telephone.

The thing is this, a few months later, I agreed that I would care for her monthly, by sending her money every month, because things were a bit hard for her in Jamaica. After I started sending her money, things changed with our regular phone conversations that we would have at nights, because I work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. I even went out and bought a cellphone, for her to reach me. She also would call me at work, but because of the nature of my job, she stopped.

So frustrating

What disturbs me the most is that she accuses me of cheating on her. If she calls and I don't pick up the home phone or my cell, I am out cheating on her. This is so frustrating to know that I work very hard and long hours; sometime seven days a week and she is accusing me of cheating. I had made plans to visit her in Jamaica, but I changed my mind because I think I am being used. A month later I stopped sending her money. Now I am getting text messages from her calling me all kinds of names. I don't know if it's because I stopped sending her money or what. She calls me a homosexual, because someone sent her an email saying I am one.

The annoying thing about this is I am so in love with this young lady to the point that it is affecting my job and my health. She walked into my life in such an instant and has established herself in every aspect of my life. Meeting her online was one of the sweetest things one can ever ask for. For me it's a matter that needs a solution and my only conclusion is to leave my heart in the hands of time. For years I have used work to build a wall around my heart. How did she get into it, pastor? Only God knows.

Pastor, I need your advice.

P.D., New York, USA

Dear P.D.,

Lots of couples meet online, but so often people don't speak the truth about themselves. Many young women search the web seeking men who would be friendly with them and send them money.

It is not unusual for women to have their boyfriends in Jamaica and collecting money from other men in North America and other places. And whenever these men come to Jamaica, the women lie by telling their boyfriends that they have to go to see their parents. Then they turn off their cellphones and their boyfriends cannot reach them until the guys they met online leave the island.

I am sorry you wasted your money on this woman. I hope you will learn from your mistake.

Beckham backs Bolt's right to gloat

By Andrew Cawthorne

BEIJING (Reuters) - Crowd-pleaser David Beckham applauded Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt on Saturday for his showmanship in smashing three world records.

"He's so talented. It's great, if you're that good," the English footballer and flagbearer for London's 2012 Olympics said of Bolt's exploits, including a 100 metre victory when he slowed down to thump his chest in celebration before finishing.

"If you've got the confidence he's got ... it's right. It's such a big stage, the whole world's watching you. So if at the end of the day you can perform like many people have performed over here, and especially him, you can gloat, it's good to see."

The comments by Beckham, in an interview with Reuters and Britain's Press Association, were the latest backing for Bolt after International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge accused him of lacking respect for other athletes.

I'm unable to post the official article that includes the logos of The World Anti-Doping Agency, Olympics and The IAAF( International Association Of Athletics Federation), however I can post the official statement.

COULD SOMEONE PLZ TELL ME IF THIS IS TRUE???????

OFFICIAL STATEMENT:
In a joint statement issued by the presidents of the World Anti-Doping Agency, International
Olympic Committee (IOC), and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the
following foods have been placed on the list of banned substances issued by WADA: yam, green
bananas, cocoa, dasheen, breadfruit, ackee and saltfish, mackeral run down, turned
cornmeal, Jerked pork and chicken, escovietched fish Malta, Supligen, Milo (said to be the
food drink of Champions), Horlicks and coconut oil
.

Jamaicans seem to become extremely athletic on diets with these foods. Coming out of WADA labs, one of the major banned substances from Jamaica is the Cassava root, a high fibre, high starch tuber root eaten in Jamaica.

It has properties which are said to enhance endurance and cause muscle fibres to twitch faster. This comes after extensive study of the diets of the Jamaican athletes which took part in the Beijing 2008 Olympic games. Though natural foods it is felt by WADA that these foods because of their unique properties give Jamaican athletes an unfair advantage.

Highconcentrations of carbohydrates and other naturally occurring substances are said to bemimicking the effects of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs). Some foods have been noted to in particular cause an unusual increase in the male hormone testosterone. As such WADA has seen it fit to add these foods to the list of banned substances.

Given the sensitivity of this issue,Jamaican athletes participating in the current Olympic games underway in Beijing have not been banned but must submit to these new restrictions within the next two years.

Two substances which have been discovered in testing of the Jamaican foods are yamstenine, a yam derivative and cocosterone, a derivative of the coco plant.

These substances have been found to mimic nandrolone and the *lo** booster EPO, hence the preliminary banning of the substances
themselves and the banning of the foods they derive from.

This ruling will also affect other Caribbean and some African countries which share similar diets as Jamaicans.
"Scientists in England gave 84 heterosexual college students chilled lime-flavored drinks that were either non-alcoholic or given a dose of vodka equivalent in alcohol to a large glass of wine or a pint-and-a-half of beer.

After 15 minutes, the volunteers were shown photos of 40 other college students from both sexes. Both men and women who drank booze found these faces more attractive, "a roughly 10 percent increase in ratings of attractiveness," said researcher Marcus Munafo, an experimental psychologist at the University of Bristol in England."

"The news on the beauty street is that high-end skincare product manufacturer La Prairie is all pleased as punch with themselves because they managed to produce a cream that costs more than the average American makes in a week. For $1,000, a 1.7-ounce jar of their new Cellular Cream Platinum Rare (pre-order here!) is the most expensive skincare offering on the market per ounce, most closely rivaled by La Mer's $1,350 bucket of cream--16.5 ounces--which somehow looks oddly economical by comparison."

Why is NBC ignoring Usain Bolt?

August 18, 2008

I have been asking myself the same question for days now?.... what r u views on this Mediazone?.... Usain Bolt picked a bad night to run the most electrifying 100 meter race in Olympic history. As Michael Phelps' eighth gold medal dominated television coverage, Internet sites and newspaper headlines in the United States on Saturday night, Bolt's scintillating 9.69 was buried as a second story. Normally the premiere race of every Games, the men's 100 final received scant domestic publicity despite it's historic, thrilling result. Clearly, the 12-hour time difference played a huge role in the under-coverage of Bolt's feat. While Michael Phelps' races garnered live coverage on NBC (because it was competed in the morning in Beijing), Bolt's wasn't shown until nearly 13 hours after its completion. Even then, it felt like an afterthought to Phelps' eighth gold medal swim. NBC is said to be worried about post-Phelps ratings for these Olympics, yet they squandered the opportunity to turn Bolt into their second-week star by dumping his race in the outer-reaches of primetime and then giving it no notice on yesterday's broadcast. Bolt's speed, charisma, youth and good looks make him a prime candidate to be the breakout star of these Games. The Peac**k Network is more concerned with squeezing every last ounce of coverage out of Michael Phelps though. (Not that I blame them.) Bolt will have the stage to himself on Wednesday when he runs the 200 and is expected to challenge Michael Johnson's 12-year old world record. Hopefully he'll get the coverage he deserves. ept_sports_oly_experts-971641063-1219070957.jpg?ymu_x3_C9UU0Uo28

.Kartel Invades Warhead Riddim

findImg.php?pic_size=200&table_name=news_img_tab&table_field=img_id&img_id=1770 Coming fully loaded with an arsenal of potential hits from the likes of Vybz Kartel, Bramma, Wasp, Lefside (Mr. Evil), Mega D, Kenyatta Fiyah, Black Violin, Chico, Shawn Storm, Delly Ranx, and Bitta *lo** among others, the Warhead rhythm from F.R.E.E. Entertainment/Bambino Muzik has been steadily holding its own among radio and sound system enthusiasts from the Caribbean to North America and parts of Europe.

The follow up to last summer's Torpedo rhythm, the Warhead is spearheaded by Justin 'Jus Bus' Nation, Antiguan Glen 'Madd Dawg' Francis and sound system selector/artiste Orett 'Bambino' Hart.

Tracks on the Warhead include Everybody Want Fi Turn a Badman by Vybz Kartel; Foreign by Lindo P; Clouds Open by Bramma; Black Sheep by Kenyatta Fiyah; War by Wasp; Hustler's Prayer by Mega D; and Tings Dem by Lefside (Mr. Evil).  Pressed as to how the name for the rhythm project was arrived at, Jus Bus said "Since there were so many lyrics about gun on the market, we decided to roll with warhead. It is inspired by previous army march type rhythms such Baby G's Gang War and the Mission, and even as far back as Birch's Military rhythm. We slowed this one down and gave it a one drop speed but we used dancehall influenced sounds and styles of lyrics and flows with a touch of hip hop. This project is to really bring awareness to the amount of violence that is taking place and how influential the music can be in highlighting it'.

Antiguan born Francis whose Taking Over Entertainment has been merged with F.R.E.E. Entertainment (Freedom Rebels Emancipating Earth), says a lot of work has been put into the Warhead project. "We put a lot of hard work and time into this project and we wanted to let people see the talent that up and coming producers have and what we are capable of doing. We also wanted to make people aware that dancehall songs can be more than just violence as the media portrays most of the time".

Asked whether it was difficult for them to get the artistes involved in the project since the producers are based overseas, Francis said "It was slightly difficult because when we decided to voice the artistes, I had classes at University in Buffalo, New York. We made a lot of phone calls and dealt with the artistes to make sure that the songs would be voiced properly".  But Jus Bus chimed in "Its always a challenge working with artistes through telephone contact or various links, when you have limited resources, but we managed to create a great project musically".

While Francis had some reasonable experience with the Torpedo rhythm last year, Jus Bus was responsible for the rhythm track for QQ's hit 'Tek it To Dem'. He has also done numerous remixes and mix tapes. Bambino on the other hand has been doing recordings as an artiste under the pseudonym Trevor Off Key, and he has also done remixes and some amount of production work.

Ice Creates 'Gully Bolt' Dance

findImg.php?pic_size=200&table_name=news_img_tab&table_field=img_id&img_id=1769 Since setting the world on fire with his astonishing world record performances and killer dance moves at the recently concluded  Beijing Olympics, it seems that the frenzy has not stopped.

876radio.com understands that acclaimed street dancer David Alexander Smith more popularly known as 'Ice' and protege of the late dancing great Bogle aka Mr. Wacky said he was very pleased to see that Usain Bolt used his dance (Gully Creepa) amongst others to celebrate his victory in the Chinese capital.

Since then the dancer has wasted no time putting together some new dance moves titled the "Gully Bolt" which is a fusion of the Gully Creepa and some of the runner's signature moves including the beating of the chest and the hands in the air portraying a bolt of lightning.

Ice said this version of the dance is a lot simpler than the original Gully Creepa and should be easier for Bolt and fans alike to catch.

According to Ice Bolt did the Creepa but never gave it enough justice so it's only right that something be tailor-made for him.

JAKARTA (Reuters) - An Indonesian man dubbed the "tree man" because of gnarled growths on his body has returned from hospital after six kilograms (13 pounds) of warts were surgically removed from his body, a doctor said on Tuesday.

Dede, who like many Indonesians goes by one name, first noticed the warts on his body after cutting his knee as a teenager. Over time, he was sacked from his job, deserted by his wife and shunned by neighbours as the horn-like extensions covered most of his body.

One of Dede's doctors, Rachmad Dinata, said the hospital had allowed the 37-year-old man to enjoy the Islamic fasting month with his family now that 95 percent of the warts had been removed after nine operations. The fasting month begins on September 1.

"He cannot be 100 percent cured, but his life quality has improved. If once he depended on others to do his activities, now he can eat by himself, use his hand to write, use the cell phone," Dinata said.

The doctor said the warts on Dede's body, which an American doctor said were a result of severe Human Papilloma Virus infection, might re-grow. But the disease is not life-threatening anymore.

Dede was operated on at the Hasan Sadikin provincial hospital in Bandung in West Java where he was admitted nine months ago with a lung infection as a result of the warts.

Dede must still go through more surgery to trim more warts from his palms and the back of his hands after the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday in October.

"We sent him home so he can gather with his family again, especially ahead of the fasting month. It will mentally help the healing process," Dinata said.

To those of you who are single or married, saved or not saved, this is for you. I am a 35-year-old African American or Black brother dying of Aids. I would like to share my testimony with you.

I am an owner of a Mortgage Company in Atlanta, GA. I own a 2007 Jaguar and I also own a $350,000 beautiful home in Cobb County. I have a beautiful Lady who is deeply in love with me and a loving family. But most important, I have Jesus, this is just a wake up call to all single brothers and sisters who are professing to be Christians, but don't want to be complete. Brothers, I had a beautiful young lady who loves the Lord and worships the ground I walk on. But I still wasn't quite happy because sometimes I would see another sister with a Coca-Cola bottle shape and just wanted to hit it. Because I was using a condom, I thought that I wouldn't catch the killer 'AIDS' but guess what? I did. And the person I caught it from was a girl that I knew well. But the condom came off and now I am dying of AIDS. Yes, I wore a condom. But yes it did happen. God gives us time after time to straighten our lives up. I do know the Lord in the pardon of my sins. I've been saved now for 7 years. I found out 7 months ago that I had the virus, and now I have full-blown Aids. I really didn't think that I was doing anything wrong, because I would tell the women who I would deal with about the woman I love. I thought that was good enough. But it wasn't. I am a good man and also a God-fearing man; but my weakness was women... I really wasn't out there like you may think I was, but every once and a while I would see something I wanted to try. My girlfriend is a praying woman. I know now that she was intimate with me because she loved me and she wanted to make me happy. Now I've given AIDS to the woman I love (who has been faithful to me) because of lust. Brothers and sisters, what I am telling you is that God is tired of us hurting each other and using each other for self-gratification. God has given me my home, my dream car and a beautiful woman and I took it all for granted. I've been tithing for 7 years. I am the chairman of my Deacon Board. But when I told my Pastor I had AIDS, he could not believe it because of the way I would carry myself. Brothers, If you have a sister who loves the Lord and who loves you for who you are and not for what you look like and not for what you have, cherish her. Sisters. If you have a brother who loves the Lord, love him and cherish him. My life has been altered. I've been with my lady since I was 20, and I've always used my young age as an excuse for not being loyal and not settling down with the woman I loved. I was being a hypocrite thinking that I was missing something, and not realizing that I had a good woman who loved and adored me. I wish I had been a real man and had appreciated the good woman God had sent me by not making excuses and dedicating my life to her. I would love to travel and marry this beautiful young Lady, but now I can't. I've embarra**ed my family, my church and m y friends. But I was hardheaded and now I must suffer. God is cleaning up. Stop playing with God. God is revealing the secrets of us Christians. Brothers and sisters, we don't have to have so many 'friends,' you know what we call them. The ones we are planning to sleep with but haven't yet.' We often say that we don't want anyone to know our business, but God is about to reveal something˘s. Especially to us young people. We think so carnal. But we say that we have been transformed. We have been transformed from what we want to be transformed from. Let's be real. God knows that the opposite sex attracts us. And he knows the desires we have for each other, but we don't have to have multiple partners. If I could do it all over again, I would marry the woman I love and live happy forever. But now I can't! But you can! Singles...I gotta tell you, it's not worth it. I love you all! Get rid of casual sex. This is really deep. After you've read this, think about yourself. Could this have b een you? Some of you may not relate, but think about anything you are doing right now that is not of God. We are living in the last and final days, and pretending to be saved is not going to cut it. Professing that He is Lord, and yet worshipping the devil every chance you get will lead you to the same path as me. Get your mind out of the gutter and put it in the Word of God and you'll have great success. Don't and you'll have great woe. I love the LORD and thank Him for all that He does in my life; therefore, I'm passing this on. Yes, I do love Jesus who has forgiven me of the repeated sins. That forgiveness does not cancel out the consequences, at least not so far. But that's on me. Still, the Lord is my source of existence and Savior. He keeps me functioning each day and is letting me share my story with you.
I'm telling it like it is THIS REALLY is to help somebody. Without Him, I will be nothing. Without Him, I am nothing but with Him I can do all things. Phil 4:13
If you love Jesus, send this to lots of people!!!!!! Be Positive - Be Progressive...Take the time to make a positive difference in someone's life.

Life must be lived forward but can only be understood backwards.

sweepingDevon Garvey, who is said to be Marcus Garveys great grand son, has been charged in Half-Way-Tree Criminal Court with allegedly sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl.

Garvey, who hails from Gold Smith Villa in August Town, St Andrew had the carnal abuse charges laid on him this week after reports surfaced about his indiscreet actions towards the adolescent.

Police reports state that Garvey was accompanying the young girl from church on May 31 this year, and instead of taking her home, he brought her to his house, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Arrested and subsequently charged for the offence, Garvey has denied the allegations, says his attorney, Christopher Townsend.

He will return to court on September 8 for a preliminary enquiry into the incident.

A BOOZED-up visitor to a wildlife park was ripped to pieces by EIGHT crocodiles in front of 50 horrified tourists.

He was dragged into the water by one of the beasts after he leaned over a rail to stroke it.

Seven others then tore him to bits in the attack at Lake Carpintero sanctuary near Tampico, Mexico.

Fire department spokesman Ramiro Alos said: Its unheard of for eight crocodiles to join forces in killing a man.

Its the most savage attack in living memory in Mexico.

There are no remains and we cant identify him. He must have suffered horrifically.

MediaTakeOut.com has just learned that theres an uproar in the G-Unit camp. As we reported to you earlier this week, G-Units label Interscope did not ship adequate copies of CDs to retailers. And now early sales of G-Units album are looking very disappointing. According to the website hitsdailydouble.com. 50 Cents group will sell only slightly more than 100,000 units in first week sales in the U.S. And heres how a member of G-Unit puts the mood at 50s camp: The entire industry has been trying to bring down 50 artists, producers, and I even think some people at the labels too Its almost like theyre trying to mess up this game. Dont they understand that 50 Cent stands for an [entire genre of] hip hop. If G-Units only selling 100K how many units will Game sell, or any other [gangsta rapper] whos not from the South. These idiots dont understand that by doing what theyre doing theyre [ensuring] that 5 years from now all hip hop will be is kids in tight pants rapping like Soulja Boy Developing

ATHENS (Reuters) - Fuelled only by used cooking fat, eight teams completed a 2,500-mile car rally from London to Athens on Wednesday in a bid to promote awareness of cheap and environmentally-friendly bio-fuels.

The "Grease to Greece" race, the brainchild of 34-year-old Londoner Andy Pag, took the teams on a 10-day mission across Europe in which they begged oil to fuel their cars from restaurants, motorway cafes and fast-food joints along the way.

"There is no reason why Joe Public cannot do this, save themselves a bit of money and help the environment because they are not using fossil fuels," Pag said.

The race ended on Wednesday with a ceremony at the British Embassy in Athens where Ambassador Simon Gass presented a Golden Lard award to the team which had earned the most "Grease Marks" for collecting fuel.

Unlike expensive conventional rallies such as the Paris-Dakar, Pag paid only 500 British pounds for his second-hand Peugeot 405 and spent nothing on fuel since leaving London -- saving the equivalent of what he paid for the car.

An experienced eco-traveller, Pag drove to the desert town of Timbuktu in Mali last year using a truck powered by waste chocolate. His next scheme is a round-the-world trip next year using aviation fuel made from recycled plastic bags.

Racers received a warm welcome from most restauranteurs.

"Whenever people have had oil they have been really, really willing to give it. It's a waste product for them so we are taking away their rubbish," Pag told Reuters.

The competitors in the race included a policeman, several engineers, farmers, a film editor, and an accountant.

Farmers Coleen and Mario Chadwick drove to Athens in their unconverted Range Rover, using used cooking oil sieved through kitchen equipment. They plan to keep driving on cooking oil from their local primary school once they return to England.

Pag's red Peugeot was converted to run on cooking oil using an kit produced by Britain's Regenatec.

"Demand for this technology is rocketing," said Adrian Hensen, whose company sells bio-fuel equipment. "With petrol prices so high, lots of people are looking for ways to reduce their fuel bills and this is a fantastic way to do it."

Jamaica Braces For Gustav

findImg.php?pic_size=200&table_name=news_img_tab&table_field=img_id&img_id=1771 We are heading toward the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season and the tropics are definitely heating up.

Tropical Storm Gustav strengthened overnight and continues to show organization this morning. The storm is nearing Jamaica in the Caribbean. Maximum sustained winds are now 70 mph and it may reach hurricane status later today.

As of 11 a.m. EDT, the center of Gustav was located about 45 miles east Kingston, Jamaica, and was moving to the west at 5 mph. Given Gustav's overnight redevelopment south of its previous center of circulation, it now appears the center of Gustav will track right over Jamaica through the afternoon and evening.

View the Gustav Tracker.

Regardless if the center misses a direct hit on Jamaica, heavy rain and the threat for flash flooding will increase over Jamaica today, along with gusty winds and increased surf.

After last night's southerly movement and redevelopment, Gustav is now moving west. During the course of the next few days, it will turn to a west-northwest then northwest direction.

Although its interaction with land will limit strengthening today, Gustav is forecast to intensify after passing over Jamaica. It will likely be at hurricane strength as it approaches the Cayman Islands later Friday.

Gustav is then forecast to enter the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend, and continue tracking northwest or north. It could threaten some part of the US Gulf Coast by Labor Day.

View the projected path.

There is still some uncertainty regarding Gustav's future strength; which will likely be fine tuned based on what happens today. It is forecast to be a hurricane as it tracks through the Gulf of Mexico; possibly a major one. All interests along the Gulf Coast should pay very close attention to this potentially dangerous storm.

A TWO-HEADED baby is under police guard after a 150,000-strong mob arrived to gawk at the tot in hospital.

The boy born in Bangladesh has been moved to a second hospital after the huge crowd gathered for a glimpse.

It was feared some people might force their way into the hospital and crush the mother and child.

Previously, babies born with physical abnormalities in Bangladesh and India have been hailed as living gods.

Last night the baby, named Kiron, was under police guard as medics tried to decide if he had any future.

Kiron was born in a caesarean operation on Monday, weighing 5.5kg, in Keshobpur, 100 miles from the capital, Dhaka.

Gynaecologist Mohamad Abdul Bari said: "He has one stomach and he is eating normally with his two mouths.

"He has one genital organ and a full set of limbs.

Dr Bari said the baby developed from one embryo 'but there was a developmental anomaly'.

He said the clinic was unable to say if the baby had one or two sets of vital organs.

"Even before we moved the baby and his mother from the clinic the crowd had grown to 150,000 and it is now just as big at the hospital," he said.

"People are desperate to have a look at this baby.

"We had to call the police to control the situation at the clinic and now the police are on 24-hour guard at the hospital."

Bangladeshi newspaper Samakal said well-wishers had left money for the baby's family.

Kartel say car wsnt bomed!!

Gangster lyricist Adejah Palmer more popularly known as Vybz Kartel was given a rude awakening when his Honda Accord motor car was allegedly b****ed outside of his plush upper St Andrew home in the late hours of Sunday 24th August. According to reports from the area, a motorcycle was heard entering the road on which the Dj lives and moments later an explosion shattered the silence complimented by the sound of the motorcycle speeding off.

When the OutARoad.com team arrived on the scene, the charred remains of the car were seen outside the deejays gate cooling down.

Vybz Kartel sent out a press release stating that his car was not fire b****ed even though residents strongly believed that it was the act of a motorcyclist who sped from the scene seconds after the car exploded.

However, according to reports from Vybz Kartel, he had no idea of his car being b****ed by a motorcyclist. He also mentioned that his Honda had an electrical problem, which might be the caused for the car to explode.

The deejay added that, he has nothing against Mavado and even if Mavado has something against him, it is not evident. Vybz Kartel said he has no time to focus on negative things right now as his focus is 100% about making money - money over war.
