"Well right now Aidonia is doing alot of recording, he just recently voiced two songs for Equinoxx who has their studio in Vineyard Town and he is suppose to do another for Pay Day Music and Steven "Di Genius" McGregor. Apart from recording he's done a number of foreign shows one April 11th in Connecticut, he did another in New York May 3rd, Antigua May 5th and Barbados May 10th so he's been quite busy". - his management told 876radio.com
Born Sheldon Lawrence Aidonia is still ranked by many as one of the most compelling lyricist in Jamaica despite his absence in the mainstream spotlight due to a still pending legal matter. Since 2008 the "No Non Sense, No Chat, No Pree, No Cree, No Violation, No Explanation" deejay has dropped a slew of street singles including the banger Start It / Border, the raunchy Hot Suh, and the richly creative Badmind People / Jail Story which was recorded after his release from jail in late January.Aidonia will be performing in Atlanta June 14th and is said to be working on his highly anticipated debut album due out this December. Dear Pastor,
Well, I'm a Jamaican born American who lived most of my life in Jamaica. And all my life I have been taught to believe that all homosexuals must die. Growing up in Jamaica, I had never had a problem with it.
However, in the past few years, I have had these strange feelings. I seem to be having sexual feelings for men. Being that I am also a male, that is extremely wrong. I was able to control my urges, but unfortunately one day I lost control. So now I believe I am considered a homosexual.
Being that I think that all homosexuals must die, is it not only right that I end my life as well? I'm confused. I don't want to be a hypocrite and I know the Bible says killing oneself is unforgivable, but how can I live with myself, knowing that I have sex with men, and the fact that I believe that people who do so must die?
DW, California, USA
Dear DW,
Not everybody in Jamaica believes that homosexuals must die. Yes, some shout "bun dem". Many homosexuals have been demanding that people accept their lifestyle and they are getting in a lot of trouble because some of them have been caught frolicking in public and they should not expect the Jamaican public to be tolerant to that type of behaviour.
I am not going to encourage you to kill yourself, but I would like to encourage you to seek professional help. Kindly make an appointment to see a psychologist.
Pastor
Pastor, what should I do?
W.W., Florida, USA
Dear W.W.,
Have the baby, but understand that it would take the grace of God for your sister not to hate you. This man and you had some drinks, but you were not drunk. I know that for sure because you said that both of you had sex and the sex was "so good".
Bad girl
And I am putting it to you that you are a bad girl and I say that to say that if you were indeed under liquor and lost control of yourself and a mistake was made, why did you continue to have sex with your sister's fiancé? You know that both of them are engaged to be married. Why have you continued to go to bed with her man?
This man will always look at you as being an easy prey. He is not a good man and frankly your sister should leave him when she finds out what has happened. Some would say that this man took advantage of you because you are such a young woman.

In the latest installment of the Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition the announcement was made that DJ Jigga would move on to battle DJ Rohan for the coveted crown and one million dollars in cash and prizes in October. Even though the competition is all the DJs, that was not the highlight of the night. Instead it was the serenading of the two finalists by popular radio jocks Nikki-Z and DJ Sunshine and 876radio.com was there to watch its unfolding. After the announcement of the finalists the two radio jocks were asked to pick a contestant and serenade them for the night, but that was not to be as the competition quickly transformed into a lyrical tune for tune war between the two. DJ Sunshine was the first to go and she started off well reassuring her man for the night, Jigga that he was undoubtedly going to be the winner, before unleashing her selection. This was met with loud applauses in approval from the crowd. However after a few exchanges the crowd was amped and wanted more and indeed they delivered. Nikki-Z the rookie of the two showed her musical prowess and wit with a selection that hit Sunshine where it hurts the most. (go figure) "Ok Sunshine, you did your thing, you got your little cheers but I got something to tell you" - Nikki-Z said. While cuing her track she asked someone from the audience to assist her for a minute and within seconds a young lady was reading a text message from her iPhone, it read. "Nikki-Z there is no Sunshine in my life without you" she then asked the young lady who is the sender at which she shouted "Jigga". This was followed by Rihanna's, 'Take A Bow' with the lyrics saying "you look so dumb right now" that sent the crowd into a frenzy. A seemingly shocked Sunshine tried everything to make a comeback but it was very evident she had been outgunned and outsmarted by the 'Z'. In the end everyone enjoyed themselves while the jocks hugged in the name of friendly rivalry. Collin Hines and Kurt Riley, judges for the night called it a tie, but honestly they were just being politically correct in an effort not to offend anyone. "We have a new found respect for both jocks and will never look at them the same way" the two lamented before hinting at the possibility that Heineken should consider creating a female version of the competition. |
Expected to step on the block, so to speak, of Stern's Sirius radio studio is a San Diego woman who says she wants to sell her maidenhood to pay her college tuition.
"I don't have a moral dilemma with it," says the pretty brunette, who's using the pseudonym of Natalie Dylan "for safety reasons."
"We live in a capitalist society," she tells us. "Why shouldn't I be allowed to capitalize on my virginity?""

One brave, honest cop Inspector Edgar Brown chases robbers, hands over stolen $45m to owners |
BY KIMMO MATTHEWS Sunday Observer staff reporter editorial@jamaicaobserver.com Sunday, September 21, 2008 |
Police Inspector Edgar Brown was having one of his normal days in June. He had picked up one of his daughters from school and was driving home to Montego Bay, St James, apparently looking forward to a relaxing evening with his family.

However, his routine was disrupted when he noticed an Atlas Security vehicle travelling at high speed behind him, and the subsequent events led to him being recognised last Thursday for honesty, having recovered over $40 million, stolen during a robbery in Ocho Rios, and handing it over to be returned to its owners.
"I heard the screeching sound of a vehicle behind the private vehicle I was driving, and instantly my instincts told me something was wrong," Brown told the Sunday Observer.
"The vehicle. sped past me and I decided to give chase, but this was not before I called for support. I used my phone to call police control, but at the time no one answered. Despite the danger, I made the decision to follow the vehicle," Brown said.
As it turned out, the vehicle was taken by two gunmen who had shot dead Atlas security guard, 52-year-old Gilbert Davis of Port Maria, St Mary, during the robbery.
"While I was chasing the vehicle, two motorised policemen heard of my ordeal and joined in the chase," Brown said. "The vehicle, which by now was speeding past cars and swerving across the road, travelled for a few miles until it crashed into an embankment near the Bailey bridge in Steer Town."
The gunmen, he said, dashed out of the vehicle. They were chased by the other cops but apparently managed to escape. Brown, in the meantime, stopped to check if anyone else was inside the vehicle and to find out if they were hurt.
"Scores of onlookers and would-be looters started to come down on the vehicle," Brown said, adding that he had to stand his ground to keep the crowd at bay.
"When I saw all the persons coming down on the vehicle, some in an attempt to loot, I did not know what was in the vehicle, but I pleaded with the onlookers, telling them that a man was killed in the incident and it was very important to maintain the scene and not contaminate the evidence," Brown said.
His search of the vehicle yielded two bags, which he placed in his car and drove to a police station, where he handed them in. He said that it was during that trip that he found out that the bags contained the money - a whopping $45 million!
"Someone told me after the incident that while I was removing the bags from the vehicle. a group of strange men had arrived on the scene and were acting suspiciously. It was just the protection of God that kept me safe that day," said Brown, who worships at the St Ann's Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Last Thursday, 51-year-old Brown, who was named the Lasco Top Cop in 2001, was presented with an award and commended by both Prime Minister Bruce Golding and the minister of national security, Colonel Trevor MacMillan at the Annual Symposium of the Jamaica Constabulary Force Inspectors' Branch, held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.
Sporting a broad smile, Inspector Brown received thunderous applause from his colleagues as he accepted the Inspectors' Branch Board Integrity Award.
"I have been criticised by persons in many circles about the decision I made, but I strongly believe that it was my strong conviction in God and my upbringing from my parents that made all the difference," said Brown, who also used the occasion to urge his colleagues to continue to uphold all that was right and decent.
"My philosophy in life is that the greatest want of the world is the want of men - and men who will not be bought are our world's greatest need today," Brown explained.
Yesterday, Inspector Steven Moodie, national co-ordinator for the Inspectors' Branch Board, hailed Brown as a shining example to the police force and said that the award was presented to him in recognition of his honesty and to highlight the Inspectors' Branch's commitment to integrity and decency in the police force.
Police reports are that on Sunday evening, the police were conducting an operation along the Bustamante Highway in the parish when they signalled a Toyota Corolla motor car with two men on board to stop.
One of the men reportedly jumped from the vehicle before it stopped and made his escape.
The other man, Donovan Rhule, 45, of Planter's Hill in the parish, was charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export ganja after the car was searched and the drug found in 20 knitted bags.
Meanwhile, the police say they are searching for Garnet Newell, who they believe can assist in their investigations.

PHOENIX -- Police in Scottsdale, Ariz., said a German shepherd saved his owner's life by dialing 911 when he began to have a seizure.
Joe Stalnaker said he adopted the dog, Buddy, when he was 8 weeks old and trained him to get the phone if he began to have seizure symptoms.
Stalnaker said he also trained the dog to press programmed buttons until a 911 operator is on the line.
Buddy, who is now 18 months old, can be heard whimpering on a recording of the 911 call at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday. Emergency responders arrived two minutes later.
Stalnaker was hospitalized for two days following the seizure but has recovered. He said Buddy is his best friend.
Stalnaker said his seizures are the result of injuries he received during military service.

During a concert in Columbus, Ohio Elephant Man abruptly left the stage after females grab his penis and ripped his pants.
Apparently Elephant Man was tempting the women with his penis and some of them got carried away.
Elephant Man was extremely upset and left the stage in the middle of the concert.
Elephant Man aka 'energy god' with the Dancehall's favorite "Gully Creeper" as made claim to the #1 spot on the HYPE-TV Top 20 chart. The single was the 'Shot to Watch' last week in the #2 position threatening to spoil Mavado's 'On The Rock' at the top and so it did. Elephant Man is doing major damage on the local scene and has been holding down the top spot with his breathtaking dancer's anthems. However the king of the dancehall, Beenie Man with "Gimme Likkle" is set to cause another upset, the single is the 'Shot To Watch' for this week, despite its distance from the top. The song currently sits at #9. 'Gully God' Mavado with his single "Money Changer" continues to make major moves on the chart, the song has now grab hold of the Greatest Gainer title. It has jumped three places up the chart to #13 from #16 last week. |
Mrs. Neita - Robertson >> Official Statement
Further to what transpired and subsequently has been published by Press Agencies both print and web based myself and Aidonia's family would like to publicly emphasize the innocence of Mr. Lawrence.
At no point in time was he even involved in any violent activities, he is a very prominent entertainer who has the highest regard for the law.
It's unfortunate the way he has been treated since he was detained on January 5th after he in good faith took the initiative to visit the Grants Pen Police Station after receiving word that a shooting had occur in his community.
I am both confident and comfortable that his account of what transpired on Saturday is accurate and will exonerate his alleged involvement in the shooting incident.
Contrary to previous reports printed in yesterdays copy of the Star, Aidonia was actually the victim of an extortion plot which involved several men who has been targeting him for some time now and it was upon his refusal to comply with their demands that men came into the community in search of him.It should also be noted that it was when these men became hostile that Mr. Lawrence and his group left the scene, shots were reportedly fired after and according to sources it was by the same individuals one of who is now in hospital.
On the matter of his car tyres being slashed and the shooting being viewed as a reprisal thats ludicrous, we can state boldly at no point in time was his vehicle or any of his personal property ever damaged, those were false reports.
He had been threatened several times prior to the incident and even went as far as to file formal reports at the Grants Pen Police Station, this can easily be verified by them.
Currently he is still being held as he has still not been formally charged of any offense, we are actively conducting our own investigations as we believe persons in the community may have witnessed what happened.
It is said some witnesses have come forward and made statements, but the matter is still being probed. At this point we are requesting a fair and detailed investigation from the Police as the shooting was in broad daylight. I am conducting my own investigations and soon the DJ's name should be cleared of all ill-repute.
The family would also like to thank the friends and fans of Aidonia for their support, they truly appreciate the loyalty in this a time of need.
