Dear Pastor,

I am in deep distress. It all started when I was living in Jamaica. Five years ago, I left Jamaica to live with my mom in England. When I landed in England my mom was married to a man who was not my father. One day I was in the bathroom

and this man opened the door and said" lets make love". I asked him what he meant and he said to me "shut up or get out of my house". I did not know how to tell my mom because my mom probably would not believe me anyway, so I did not say anything about it, but it continued until I got pregnant. It's my first child and I don't believe in abortion.

Pastor, please help me, because my mom will eventually find out that I am pregnant and I will have to tell her who is the father. Do I tell her that it's her husband or wait until the child is born to tell her the truth? I need help right now.

I realised that I need help after talking with a friend. I am 17 years old and live with my mother, who is destroying my life.

My mother had her first child, my sister, now 26, at 16. Then she had six more. All of her children have suffered. The first one was taken to a home because my mother left her in a car shortly after she was born.

Hungry

When I was about 13, she used to make all of us go to town and sell while she stayed home. If we got hungry while selling ginger and thyme in the sun, we were not allowed to use any of the money to buy food, not even a sweety. That was how bad it was. Because of this, my sister ran away and got pregnant. My mother did not even look for her. My sister was just 17.

When I was 15, she allowed a man who liked me to sleep in her house with me on the same bed because he paid her to do that. He told her that he had locked his keys in his car. That night I was raped. I told her, but she did not believe me.

Abortion

After about two months, she noticed that I was pregnant. She took me to do an illegal abortion and argued that it was not him who got me pregnant, after beating me. She does not work, but yet she loves money. Because of her, I am with a man who is 50 years old. He is old enough to be my father.

I cannot help the situation because he has assisted me through high school. He got me pregnant twice and she made me have abortions. Because of the abortions I am having constant infections and bleeding problems.

I have to sleep with him because if I don't, our rent will not be paid. I do not eat, go to school or have any money at all. If I decide I do not want to talk to him or answer his calls, she curses me and beats me. I am now 17 and I am still living like this.

Pastor, tell me, should I run away or move out? If I do, I am afraid I won't be able to make it. I am currently in school and I pray every night for help. I am suffering in hell. Please, help me.

They shell out money as if it's going out of style to cater to these women's needs and in return, sooner or later wifey can't take any more and she walks out.

Seriously the reason for this article came about because of a friend who allowed his marriage to fall apart over a loud, non ambitious female...who in the end when his wife left him, told him she wasn't interested in washing, cooking or any of that stuff as that's

Early this morning, Bembe came to a premature end as Alliance selector Foota Hype plugged out Richie Feelings' microphone and ended his set presumably because enough Mavado songs were not being played. Reports reaching one876 is that Bembe ended at about 1:30 a.m. after a disgusted Richie Feelings packed up his CDs and left. Foota Hype then played a Mavado song, declaring 'ah we run Kingston 8, no Kartel nuffi play in yah, we no business wid no media, we loaded!" and then passed the microphone to Boom Boom who declared: wah do some bwoy?. Earlier, patrons had had a good time at Bembe even though the crowd was smaller than usual. The weekly fete has been on the decline in recent weeks because of a c****ination of factors including pressure from the policemen enforcing the Night Noise Abatement act after constant complaints from residents of the area. Dancehall deejay Assassin and famed music video director Julia Braham are at odds regarding a video shoot gone bad.

According to reports Assassin's management and Ms. Braham had a verbal agreement to shoot the video for the song 'Don't Mek Mi Hold Yuh'. She was paid some moneys for the project and the shoot went according to plan, but the same can't be said for the editing session. It seems that the hard drive containing the footage from the shoot was accidentally drop by her editor during the editing session, and hence the drive became dysfunctional.

She said the mishap was conveyed to Assassin and his management team and an agreement was reached to do another shoot but this time it would be for the 'Money Machine' song featuring Sakidi. The new arrangement was that she would shoot the new video for free, with provisions in place to pay any excess that may occur (if the new video cost more that the previous one she would be paid the residual amounts)

Even though the agreement was reached there was still no a formal written contract in place but Assassin's Brother/Manager Garath Campbell gave the nod of approval.

Braham said after the new video was shot and edited she had adviced her editor not to hand over the finish product to Assassin's team until the excess was paid, unfortunately those instructions were not followed and now she has been put in a compromising position with a lot of her workers some of whom have threatened her if the relevant payments are not forthcoming.

Assassin's manager in response to Julia's claims had this to say,

"Ms. Braham was granted a huge favour has we could have taken our business elsewhere after her earlier mishaps, we did spend an additional $200,000 out of pocket and so I cannot understand how we are still indebted to her, as even the damaged drive which was shipped to Connecticut for recovery is being paid for by us, Julia is unprofessional, as one could see, she never even had a backup of the data, she threatened to hit me in my face if the additional moneys were not paid to her, and now that the project is complete all i have to say is she is on her own".

LONDON The son of an Arab monarch took the King of Pop to court Monday, charging that Michael Jackson took $7 million as an advance on an album and an autobiography that he never produced.

Lawyers for Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain say the money was given to Jackson as an advance on the book and joint recording project with the sheikh, who is an amateur songwriter. Jackson claims the money was a gift.

Jackson and Al Khalifa were not at London's Royal Courts of Justice as the trial opened. Jackson's lawyers said he would seek permission to testify by video link from the United States.

Bankim Thanki, a lawyer for Al Khalifa, said the royal first spoke to Jackson by telephone while the singer was on trial in California on charges of child molestation.

Al Khalifa wanted to work with Jackson on rebuilding his career, Thanki said. To that end, the sheikh spent millions paying Jackson's legal fees, moving him to Bahrain and supporting Jackson, his family and entourage.

The expenses included $350,000 for a European vacation for Jackson and his associates, Thanki said.

"The cost even included the expenses of bringing out Mr. Jackson's hairdresser," Thanki said. "It's not a conventional commercial dispute."

The lawyer said Jackson and the sheikh became close and at one time both were living in a palace in Abu Dhabi owned by Al Khalifa's father, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the oil-rich country. The singer stayed nearly a full year in Bahrain as a guest of the son, who serves as the governor of the country's Southern Province.

Thanki acknowledged that Al Khalifa gave some gifts to Jackson but said that most of what Jackson received was part of a business deal.

The gifts, he said, "were essentially personal effects watches, jewelry."

Jackson's finances fell apart after he was arrested in 2003 over allegations he molested a 13-year-old boy at his ranch. A jury cleared him of all the charges.

Feuds have long been a part of Jamaican music, from the ska era to the dancehall. However, in recent times they have reached unprecedented levels of violence, often with personal vendettas on and off stage. In music, competition occurs across genres. In rap music there was Kanye West versus 50 Cent and Eminem versus Jermaine Dupri (and almost all the rap community). In rock, there are British rock bands versus American rock bands, in pop Britney Spears versus Christina Aguilera, and the list goes on. While most stopped at word throwing, there have been instances of violence, such as the infamous feud and resulting death of rap stars Tupac Shakur and the Notorious BIG. In the dancehall, probably the most explosive feud has been between David Brooks, aka Mavado, and Adidjah Palmer, aka Vybz Kartel.

Deejay Einstein has broken his silence about a shooting incident that occurred last Wednesday night at a popular studio in St Andrew.

The STAR understands that Einstein, whose real name is Jermaine Shaw, and another deejay, Blak Ryno (Romain Anderson), have been linked to the shooting in the parking lot of the studio.

The Half-Way Tree police took 10 persons into custody for questioning, including Blak Ryno.

Einstein said he was at the studio doing dubs when he took a break to get food.After relaxing in the parking lot, Einstein said he left the scene with a friend. "I was on my way to get some seafood when I got a call and dem seh mi involve inna some shooting at di studio. Mi link call and seh bare police down there and dem a seh mi and Blak Ryno a fight," he said.

Einstein said he headed back to the studio where he saw a number of police personnel but decided it was in his best interest to leave. Since then, Einstein said he has received numerous calls from persons talking about the incident.

Man Makes 2 Trips To ER In 6 Hours, Police Say


BOULDER, Colo. -- A man was hospitalized after he was hit by a train while walking his bicycle across a railroad bridge in Boulder, Colo., early Wednesday, about six hours after he was hit by a car, local station KMGH reported.
Police said it was the second trip to the emergency room in six hours for the man.
According to authorities, Robert Evans, 46, was clipped by an empty Burlington Northern Santa Fe coal train.
Boulder police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley said Evans was found 10 feet under a bridge, and was taken to Boulder Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The bridge, which is about 50 feet long, is only wide enough to accommodate the train tracks. It is intended for trains only and is marked with warning signs to deter pedestrians from using it.
Evans is facing a possible ticket for trespassing, according to police.
On Tuesday around 10 p.m., police said Evans was struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bicycle at the intersection of Folsom Street and Canyon Boulevard in Boulder. Police are looking for the driver who left the scene.
Evans was released from the hospital at 3 a.m. and was heading back to his camp outside town when he was hit by the train.

Rivals deejay Vybz Kartel and singer Mavado exchanged disses at Champions in Action this morning.

Kartel suggested that "ah pure fish live inna the gully' while Mavado continued to protest that a member of the Empire entourage had put a tattoo with Kartel's name on his neck, a sure sign of homosexual behaviour. Kartel also hurled disses at his former friend, Bling Dawg, call him a 'bwoy'.

Kartel earned big forwards for Wah Dat Fah? but Mavado blew up with his hit songs, and also earned additional forwards for two new songs that had the audience in a tizzy. He closed the show alongside his mentor and friend Bounty Killer, and the huge crowd at Jamworld waited until they finished performing to leave. Mavado easily got the most forwards on a night when Shaggy, Assassin and Ninjaman also performed well. Assassin delivered one of his best ever performances. Beenie Man was not booked to attend the show.  

Empire members Blak Ryno and Jahvinchi showed why they were considered rising powers in the dancehall game. Blak Ryno was simply awesome as he did Mek Di Paper and Thug Anthem, while Jahvinchi got a big ovation when he hit the stage to sing Askella Spray.

NEW YORK Citigroup Inc. is shedding approximately 53,000 more employees in the coming quarters as the banking giant struggles to steady itself after suffering massive losses from deteriorating debt.

The New York-based bank, which has already reduced its assets by about 20 percent since the first quarter of the year, also plans to trim expenses by 19 percent in 2009 from third-quarter levels, to $50 billion.

The plans, posted on the company's Web site, were discussed by CEO Vikram Pandit at the company's town hall meeting in New York Monday with employees.

The company said it is shrinking its work force by 20 percent from its 2007 peak of 375,000. The company had already announced in October that it was eliminating about 22,000 jobs from that level.

About half of the expected work force reductions will come from business sales; Citigroup already announced that it was selling Citi Global Services and its German retail banking business, accounting for about 18,000 jobs. Citi is planning to sell other businesses, too, but has not announced them yet, a spokesman said.

The other half of the work force reductions will come from layoffs and attrition, the spokesman said.

The New York-based bank has posted four straight quarterly losses, including a loss of $2.8 billion during the third quarter.

In an effort to instill confidence in the company, Citigroup emphasized in its presentation Monday that its Tier 1 capital ratio, a measure of financial strength, is 10.4 percent after a $25 billion investment from the government part of the $700 billion financial rescue package passed by Congress last month. That ratio is higher than peers Bank of America Corp. and Wells Fargo & Co., after their purchases of Merrill Lynch and Wachovia Corp., respectively.

Citigroup also stressed that it has doubled reserves in a year to $24 billion; that its revenues are stable; and that Citigroup has lower exposure to U.S. consumer mortgages than JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

But the announcements were not met with enthusiasm from investors. Citi shares fell 46 cents, or 4.8 percent, to $9.06 in morning trading. The company's shares have been trading at 13-year lows.

Shortly before the town hall meeting in New York, Citigroup Chairman Win Bischoff said at a business forum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, that it would be irresponsible for Citi and other companies not to look at staffing in the event of a prolonged economic downturn.

"What all of us have done and perhaps injudiciously we've added a lot of people over ... this very benign period," Bischoff said.

"If there is a reversion to the mean ... those job losses will obviously fall particularly heavily on the financial sector," he added. "Certainly they will fall particularly heavily on London and New York."

A Citigroup spokesman said that while certain regions and businesses might have higher concentrations of job cuts, they would generally be across the entire company and around the world.

In his comments to The Associated Press, Bischoff did not rule out the likelihood that Citi's leaders would go without bonuses this year a move that would effectively amount to a substantial pay cut for the company's executives.

"Watch this space," he said when asked about lost bonuses.

On Sunday, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. said seven top executives, including Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein, opted out of receiving cash or stock bonuses for 2008 amid the ongoing credit crisis.

An Oregon woman who is out $400,000 after falling for a well-known Internet scam says she wasn't a *u*ker or an easy mark.

Janella Spears of Sweet Home says she simply became curious when she received an e-mail promising her $20.5 million if she would only help out a long-lost relative identified as J.B. Spears with a little money up front.

Spears told KATU-TV about the scammers' ability to identify her relative by name was persuasive.

"That's what got me to believe it," She said. "So, why wouldn't you send over $100?"

Spears, who is a nursing administrator and CPR teacher, said she mortgaged the house and took a lien out on the family car, and ran through her husband's retirement account.

"The retirement he was dreaming of cruising and going around and seeing America is pretty much gone for him right now," she said.

She estimates it will take two years to clear the debt that accumulated in the more than two years she spent sending money to con artists.

Her family and bank officials told her it was all a scam, she said, and begged her to stop, but she persisted because she became obsessed with getting paid.

The scheme is often called the "Nigerian scam" and it's familiar to many people with e-mail accounts. It still exists and it still works.

Spears first sent $100 through an untraceable wire service as directed by the scammers. Then, more multimillion dollar promises followed so long as she sent more money.

The scammers sent Spears official-looking documents and certificates from the Bank of Nigeria and the United Nations. President Bush and FBI Director Robert Mueller were also involved, the e-mails said, and needed her help.

But it wasn't and now Spears is paying the price for her costly lesson.

Dad accused of killing daughter while cleaning gun

MARYSVILLE, Wash. A father arrested after his 6-year-old daughter was fatally shot in their Washington state home allegedly told authorities he had been drinking double shots of vodka while cleaning his guns.

Court papers say Richard Peters told detectives he had asked his daughter, Stormy, to bring him the .45-caliber handgun Sunday. He said he must have pulled the trigger, and the girl fell to the floor. She was pronounced dead Monday.

Bail for Peters, 42, was set Monday at $250,000. He has been arrested for investigation of first-degree manslaughter.

His attorney, Annika Carlsten, requested that Peters be released from jail, The Herald newspaper of Everett reported. She argued that Peters isn't a flight risk, or a danger to himself or the community.

"It's obviously a tragedy for all involved and my primary concern is for my client and his family," Carlsten told The Associated Press on Tuesday night, declining to discuss any specifics.

The Snohomish County sheriff's office said two other children were removed from the home by Child Protective Services.

Teen lives 4 months with no heart, leaves hospital

MIAMI D'Zhana Simmons says she felt like a "fake person" for 118 days when she had no heart beating in her chest. "But I know that I really was here," the 14-year-old said, "and I did live without a heart."

As she was being released Wednesday from a Miami hospital, the shy teen seemed in awe of what she's endured. Since July, she's had two heart transplants and survived with artificial heart pumps but no heart for four months between the transplants.

Last spring D'Zhana and her parents learned she had an enlarged heart that was too weak to sufficiently pump *lo**. They traveled from their home in Clinton, S.C. to Holtz Children's Hospital in Miami for a heart transplant.

But her new heart didn't work properly and could have ruptured so surgeons removed it two days later.

And they did something unusual, especially for a young patient: They replaced the heart with a pair of artificial pumping devices that kept *lo** flowing through her body until she could have a second transplant.

Dr. Peter Wearden, a cardiothoracic surgeon at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh who works with the kind of pumps used in this case, said what the Miami medical team managed to do "is a big deal."

"For (more than) 100 days, there was no heart in this girl's body? That is pretty amazing," Wearden said.

The pumps, ventricular assist devices, are typically used with a heart still in place to help the chambers circulate *lo**. With D'Zhana's heart removed, doctors at Holtz Children's Hospital crafted substitute heart chambers using a fabric and connected these to the two pumps.

Although artificial hearts have been approved for adults, none has been federally approved for use in children. In general, there are fewer options for pediatric patients. That's because it's rarer for them to have these life-threatening conditions, so companies don't invest as much into technology that could help them, said Dr. Marco Ricci, director of pediatric cardiac surgery at the University of Miami.

He said this case demonstrates that doctors now have one more option.

"In the past, this situation could have been lethal," Ricci said.

And it nearly was. During the almost four months between her two transplants, D'Zhana wasn't able to breathe on her own half the time. She also had kidney and liver failure and gastrointestinal bleeding.

Taking a short stroll when she felt up for it required the help of four people, at least one of whom would steer the photocopier-sized machine that was the external part of the pumping devices.

When D'Zhana was stable enough for another operation, doctors did the second transplant on Oct. 29.

"I truly believe it's a miracle," said her mother, Twolla Anderson.

D'Zhana said now she's grateful for small things: She'll see her five siblings soon, and she can spend time outdoors.

"I'm glad I can walk without the machine," she said, her turquoise princess top covering most of the scars on her chest. After thanking the surgeons for helping her, D'Zhana began weeping.

Doctors say she'll be able to do most things that teens do, like attending school and going out with friends. She will be on lifelong medication to keep her body from rejecting the donated heart, and there's a 50-50 chance she'll need another transplant before she turns 30.

For now, though, D'Zhana is looking forward to celebrating another milestone. On Saturday, she turns 15 and plans to spend the day riding in a boat off Miami's coast.

A Swiss man Tim Steinier has sold an elaborate Virgin Mary tattoo on his back to a German collector, with the understanding it can be exhibited three times a year.

The tattoo, which fetched $260,000 dollars, also allows the artwork to be removed from the man's skin upon death and handed to the owner.

The tattoo which took 35 hours was created by Belgian artist Wim Delvoye, who is known for his work which depicts the Virgin Mary with a lifeless skull.

The tattoo will go on show for the first time next week in Singapore and Shanghai.

What led to the breakdown of Comedian/Actor Katt Williams? Was it a woman? According to close friends, yes, it was a woman. Williams was admitted to a South Carolina mental facility last week. His family stepped in and convinced him to be committed to saving his life. The past two months have been crazy for the comic actor, and his behavior was getting stranger by the day. There was his no show at the BET Hip Hop Awards; his no show for The Conan OBrien show; and, his arrests on weapon charges. Williams had been leaning heavily on drugs and alcohol to get him through the day. He had an arsenal of weapons because he feared people were after him. His crazy behavior had everyone around him scared. Last weekend he showed up at a hotel to book a room. He was naked underneath a bathrobe, and he had a towel wrapped around his head. Hotel management called the cops when they realized something was not right. He walked in and he was talking gibberish. When
