ORLANDO, Fla. The Florida mother charged in the killing of her toddler daughter described herself as a victim when talking to her parents during a jailhouse visit last August. Casey Anthony, 22, told her parents she was just as much a victim as anyone else in the case during the recorded visit at the Orange County Jail in Orlando. Copies of the visit were released this week.
At the time, Casey was in jail on charges related to the disappearance of her daughter Caylee. She was charged with first-degree murder in October.
In the video, Casey Anthony cried and got angry when pressed by her parents for information about Caylee's whereabouts. She even threatened to end the conversation.
"This is seriously the first time I've been angry, that I've been frustrated to the point where I can't even think straight at this moment," Casey Anthony said. "The worst part is nobody can see my side and I have to keep my mouth shut."
Caylee's remains were found in December by a meter reader in woods near where Caylee lived with her mother and grandparents. Four months earlier, meter reader Roy Kronk had made three phone calls to the Orange County Sheriff's Office about his suspicions that remains were in a bag he had spotted in those woods.
A sheriff's deputy responded to the woods but didn't see a need to investigate further. That deputy was removed from patrol duty this week pending an investigation into his response.
A former attorney for Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, rewarded Kronk Friday with $5,000 for finding the remains. The attorney, Mark NeJame, said he had received $5,000 for his work on the case and felt it was right to give the money to Kronk.

KETCHUM, Idaho Police said a 52-year-old Ketchum woman is facing misdemeanor battery charges for whacking an opposing player with a hockey stick during a no-contact hockey game. Sun Valley police said they issued a misdemeanor battery citation to the woman earlier this week.
Assistant Police Chief Mike Crawford said the woman broke her stick over the leg of a male player on the opposing team who was lying on the ice at the time his leg was struck.
Crawford said the department normally doesn't get involved in on-ice altercations, but he said witnesses described the episode as excessive for a friendly hockey game.
Police began looking into the case after being notified by the victim after the game.
The woman was scheduled to appear in Blaine County Magistrate Court Feb. 2.
Think of a weightlifter and the image that comes to mind is of a musclebound hulk with thighs like treetrunks.
Think again.
Petite 14-year-old Zoe Smith has staked her claim to be the strongest girl in Britain after lifting almost two-thirds more than her bodyweight.
The 5ft 2in schoolgirl, who weighs 9 stone, managed to hoist aloft an astonishing 95kg, or 15 stone, in one 'clean and jerk' event.
Zoe, from Abbey Wood, South- East London, was named one of the British Olympic Association's Athletes of the Year for 2008 after she took gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games in India.
She set a world record for her age and bodyweight by lifting a total of 159kg, or 25 stone, in three events.
Her astonishing power has seen her tipped as a star for the London Olympics in 2012.
Winning the BOA's Athlete of the Year award for her sport puts her in an elite group alongside Olympic champions such as Chris Hoy, the triple gold medal-winning cyclist.
'Seeing my name on a list as an equal alongside all the big names from last year's Olympics was unbelievable,' she said.
'At first I thought there might have been some mistake and was a bit nervous about telling anyone, so I was amazingly happy when it sunk in that it was true.'
Like many teenagers, Zoe has her own Bebo web page where she lists her likes (chocolates, staying up all night, international competitions) and dislikes (prawns, scary movies, losing).
She attends Townley Grammar School in Bexleyheath and is studying for GCSEs in maths, English, French, science, art and PE.
A former gymnast, Zoe started weightlifting at the age of 12 when she was asked to make up the numbers in a team. She said: 'From my first session, my coach Andy Callard said he could tell I had the natural talent and strength to do well.' He was right. Zoe set an amazing 98 British records in 2008.
Of her 2012 ambitions she said: 'Just being selected would be a dream come true and of course the ultimate aim for anyone would be to win the gold medal, me included.'
Looks like some more dirt bud just popped up in a Texas home unannounced:
UPS delivers, but not always to the right address, a Denton man discovered Monday when he found a lot of green inside a package dropped on his porch by the men in brown. The man took the package to Denton police later that night, police spokesman Officer Ryan Grelle said. It contained a 30-pound brick of compressed marijuana with a street value of $10,500.
A brick of 30# in decent dank should bring in more than double $10,000. (From what we hear, of course.)
And you thought that billion dollar bust in Arizona last month was the end of Mexican dirt weed

Yendi Phillipps, Former Miss Jamaica World, yesterday played down rumours that she and sprint star Asafa Powell are involved and are more than just friends.
The beauty queen, who represented Jamaica at the 2007 Miss World competition in Sanya, China, described their relationship as "long-time friends".
"No man, me and Asafa are friends from long time. He was a part of and contributed to my fund-raising programme," Phillipps told The STAR yesterday.
Fascinated by people
"But I think people are just fascinated by people who are held highly in society and you can't knock people for wanting to know," she said.
Powell, a former 100m world record holder, participated in Fashion Xplosion: A Celebrity Charity Fashion Show, in October 2007, which was organised by Phillipps. Rumours have been circulating recently of a possible romance.
Efforts to contact Powell yesterday were futile, as, at the time, his mother, Cislyn Powell, said he was at training.
Closed-door relationship
However, The STAR spoke to a source close to Powell, who hinted at a possible closed-door relationship.
"Well, the only thing I can say is that you can't see things and just judge it. There are a couple of times when she (Phillipps) is around."
The source added: "The girl he used to be with, it look like they broke up. I saw her (Phillipps) two times. The last time I could not (properly) recognise her (because of how discreetly she dressed)."
Another well-placed source indicated that Phillipps has been spotted at a number of Powell's training sessions.
The source further told The STAR in a telephone interview that the possibility of a full-fledged relationship could not be ruled out.
"Anything is possible and I hear that she is around a lot of times when I don't see. I'm not going to say them a talk because I see them smiling together. Really, it's not my business. I am not the type to go around and ask about other person's personal relationships," the source stated.

A nasty big of schadenfreude is playing itself out in St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands regarding Serani being robbed. Some residents are actually celebrating the singer's misfortune, one post on an Internet website gleefully sang: "Everywhere I go, they ROB me-ee--eee".
One teenager sent out an email which was forwarded to one876 that spoke about the anticipation that accompanied the initial concert that Serani was supposed to attend but failed to show angering his fans.
"Time went on and a rumor of Serani not coming to the concert started to surface in the club. Obviously thismade people mad. With ticket prices at $30 for advanced tickets, more at the door, and $50 for limited VIP tickets, people were not trying to believe he wasn't coming. Finally around 3 a.m. is when a representative of Daseca (serani's peepz) came on stage to confirm that the rumor was true. He claimed that the reason Serani was not coming was because he missed his plane from Jamaica to St. Croix. This mad me vex!
How could you have people waiting for this man for a couple hours while being subjected to all kinds of foolishness? They brought on another local artists named Pumpa to keep the concert going, but not even the VI Energy God could satisfy angered Serani fans.
In St. Croix, what we were given at that Serani "concert" was a jam (a local party) and was worth nothing more than $10 in my opinion. Then to top it off, the Daseca Rep. had the nerve to tell us "Keep your wristbands, when Serani comes he is going to give you a free show. "HOW CAN YOU GIVE US A FREE SHOW WHEN WE PAID $30 & $50 FOR IT?!!!" That made people even more vexed. With all of that said some people stayed out and partied while the others (including myself, my bro, & his friend) left
disappointed.
Serani was going to get "Stinkin Rich" alright, stinkin rich of the
money of the VI people that came out to see him!
Serani's reps kept their word and arranged with the promoter Ayinde Gomez to have another show on Sunday, January 4th, where "Serani would perform for free at the Festival Village for the general public... while those who held on to their VIP wristbands would enter for free on Monday, Jan. 5th for Daddy Jones and Pumpa alongside Dog Heart and Avalanche in Club Flava. The promoter said that Serani missed his plane twice in a note on Facebook.
One anrgy VI teen wrote in the widely disseminated email that said:
"Missed his plane twice? Yuh to lie! How do you miss your plane twice? No Green Card? No work Visa? Or did he just NOT want to come? The people want to know.
Anyway, Serani did come to the Festival village. The DJs were actually saying "People get ready for Serani! He's coming up!" This was the last day of Village and it was packed. I believe the fact that Serani was going to be there brought more people out.
Serani came on the stage about 11 p.m. He was there for a while "hyping up" the crowd. During his performance he sang about a half of each song. His attitude was terrible. You could tell he was only performing because he had to. When he wanted the DJ to stop halfway through the song he would like fling his arm. When the DJ messed up (which was a couple times) he turned around with an angry look on his face, at one point he even told the audience to kill the DJ not him.
It even seemed like he talked more than he sang. At one point while he was talking he said, "all man dat does hit woman, dem is faggit!" He also said, "You see me, I'm Serani. And no bad man can do me nuttin', and no gun man can do me NUTTIN!" Hello buddy this is a family show! He even practically embarra**ed this one girl on the mic by telling her when she asked him to sing a certain song, "it is not your time, when your time come you will know." Rudeness!
Overall that little make-up performance wasn't good at all. What's up
with that? He was on the stage for about a 30 minutes and with an
attitude. He looked bad, talked too much, had a stinking attitude,
didn't sing a reasonable amount of any of his songs, and then ended and left the stage. When he was done it was about 11:30 p.m. and had people wondering if that was it? He was there to do a free show and he *u*ked.
Shame on Serani. He didn't even sign autographs or anything, just left
in a vehicle that was waiting for him. That man didn't even say
goodnight or thanks for coming out. Terrible!! No manners! I don't
know about everyone else but I WANT MY $30 BACK!
It was then said that later that night the promoter dropped Serani and a member of his entourage outside of their hotel and left them at the
curbside without escorting them into the building. Well it has been
reported that they were held up and robbed of money and jewelry. Not to sound mean but...OH WELL SERANI! SOMEBODY ELSE IS STINKIN RICH! I still like your music, just won't go to anymore of your shows! The promoters did try after this disaster at the village to give people with their wristbands another free "jam" at another club, but I don't feel that was a good enough attempt to satisfy the people.
During the current economic state, in all due respect I must say, I WANT MI BLASTED MONEY BACK!"
Boy, that's harsh.
"Kendra Wilkinson is dishing on life at the Playboy mansion in the latest issue of US Weekly. It sounds like Kendra is saying that she didnt have sex with Hef, but was expected to stay faithful to him and found the restrictions too hard to deal with long term. Shes now engaged to football player Hank Bassett and was sneaking out to see him while she live under Hefs paternal thumb:
Kendra Wilkinson has opened up to Us Weekly about her relationship with Hugh Hefner and how she cheated!!
I had to have sex every now and then, so I had to kind of sneak it, she said, noting that Bridget and Kendra stayed faithful to Hef. I was like How the hell can you do that? I had to have [sex] so I could feel my age, like a healthy human being.
She also says she didnt spend a lot of time with Hef. Besides the nights we went out, I only saw Hef, like, once a day walking through the halls to his office there were never solo dates The most we kind of say to each other is, I love you, Love you too, I hope you have a good day, Did you have a good day?
Kendra also bitched about Hefs notoriously controlling ways, saying it was way more strict than my life has ever been and that it drove her insane that staff members would keep track of the girlfriends whenever they left the Mansion. In fact, staff would note the times they left and returned to the mansion in a book, and Hef would review it each morning. And they werent allowed to spend the holidays away from the Mansion. And the paycheck? An allowance of $1,000 a week. I kind of have trouble believing that. Shit, their hair extensions alone had to be like $3K a month in maintenance. And the wardrobes?! Those girls were definitely spending more than a grand a month.
Kendra said, I hate putting my hand out, but we couldnt have jobs other than getting appearance fees. Hef was kind of like my best friend, but a sugar daddy at the same time Hef made me feel beautiful. Now Im totally against [Hefner's] way of life, with three girlfriends and all of that.
[Quotes from US Weekly, presumed to be print version, January 26, 2008, via Evil Beet]
Its widely assumed that Holly was the only one of the three who regularly had sex with Hef, and thats probably true because Bridget has said that she was celibate for months. I wonder what kind of creepy deal Hefs new girlfriends, the 19 year-old twins and their college student doppleganger, made in order to get a roof over their heads, free food, and the infamy that goes along with being linked to a dude old enough to be their great grandfather.
I really enjoy The Girls Next Door and part of the appeal of the show is the pure excitement all of the women have for the great things they get to do. They all seem genuinely thrilled at the fun experiences they have and it offers a lot of vicarious fun. I doubt that the show will have half the appeal with a new, younger cast of barely-legal women that are likely used to getting their way and take more for granted. Hefner had a great cast of women and although his latest co-eds are some compensation, its probably like switching from eating at The Olive Garden to McDonalds. One at least has the surface level semblance of class." Celebitchy.com
Damn Kendra! I don't blame ya girl...you had to sneak out and get yours! I guess the old man didn't wanna bother with Viagra then. Poor thang.
Lottery scammers in Montego Bay, St James, are digging deep into their pockets to pay local 'witch doctors' to protect them against evil forces rumoured to be plaguing their colleagues.
Some scammers are said to be paying as much as $600,000 to get rid of DeLaurence spells, THE STAR has learnt.
The streets of Montego Bay are buzzing with talk that the scammers, who have made millions from conning persons out of their money, are now being haunted or even killed by duppies and spells said to have been 'sent' by those affected by their operations.
Some scammers are said to be having thousands of dollars mysteriously becoming ablaze in their pockets, short spells of insanity and having visitations from 'foreign duppies'.
Pretty white girl
In one report from a resident, a scammer is said to have fainted after people complimented him for travelling around with a "pretty white girl" on the back of his motorcycle. The scammer, however, had no knowledge that the girl was riding around with him.
One witch doctor with whom THE STAR spoke on the condition of anonymity said the scammers have been paying between $200,000 and $600,000 to protect them against the spells.
"Mi work wid de majority a dem man deh. Some top man inna de scam link mi fi mi 'seal dem up'. Anywhere mi deh, dem find mi," he said. He further said that the price of the job varied according to the type of seal the scammers were seeking.
"All $500,000 or so they have to pay sometimes because you have different seals. You have the seven seals and then the 21 seals, so it vary."
After explaining the process where coffins, bottles, jewellery and fire were used to perform the rituals for the clients, he noted that the affected men did not hesitate to fork out the cash when he named his price.
"Dem sort mi out yes, because dem ave the money," he said. He even bragged that he was behind the success of many of them as he has "fixed up the papers" (sheets of paper with the details of the persons to be scammed), allowing for easy persuasion when the scammers contacted the unsuspecting foreigners.
"So, a nuff a dem mi tun inna millionaire, mi buss dem," he said. "Nuff time dem all bring back dem friend fi mi sort dem out too."
While stating that the dark forces have not affected him, one scammer with whom the newspaper spoke related the experiences of two of his colleagues.
"A nuff things a gwaan inna de game man," he said. "All money bun up inna mi breddrin pocket, 'bout $100,000 him did ave. Him affi hurry up and tek off him shorts." He continued: "All Lukazukamakfrom up the road, him ave a client, any time him call them (on the telephone) him head tek him. Him can't sleep, him just start run up and down like him mad."
The man went further said he has heard about persons who have had 'caucasian-looking ghosts' knocking on their room doors, stating that they came to collect their "package".
Assistant Commissioner of Police Denver Frater, in charge of the Area One, told THE STAR that they have heard of the DeLaurence rumours. "We have heard the rumours but it is not something that we can confirm," ACP Frater said, almost chuckling through his response.
The Montego Bay lotto scam came to light in 2005 and has since boomed into a multi-million dollar business for criminals. Scam artists use illicitly obtained personal information about American citizens to con them into sending money under the guise that they had won a lottery.

In what seems to be a case of sibling rivalry to dangerous degrees, a man and his sister appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. Both were charged with wounding after a fight developed between them.
Prince Nugent and Princess Nugent appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brown.
Princess told THE STAR that on the day in question, her brother stormed into her house and began searching through her things, while accusing her daughter of stealing his phone. She said she spoke to him about searching her house and he pushed her and went for a knife and an ice pick, both of which were taken away by her daughter. She said the accused then went for an iron baton from his car and hit her in the head while she was breastfeeding her new-born baby.
Miscarriage
She also told the court that sometime before, she had a miscarriage because of injuries inflicted by her brother. She also alleged that after the incident, her brother attempted to run over her daughters with his car. She also told the court that when her brother washes his car, he throws the water at her doorstep.
Prince, however, had a different story. He said some items, including a phone, went missing from his house and his daughter told him that she saw Princess' daughter leaving the house. He said he went to the house, and was attacked by his nieces who fetched a shovel and screwdriver. He also told the court that his sister was always picking on him. Responding to a query by Senior RM Brown, he said he would not attend his sister's funeral if she died.
He was sternly reprimanded by the Senior RM who told him: "You have to learn to control yourself. You are the problem. You went to her house."
The matter will return to court on February 12 for trial in the night court. The truth is that far from being the poor victim it likes to portray itself as, Israel is in fact the most aggressive and belligerent nation in the region, having invaded pretty much everyone it shares a border with.
The following maps show what Israel has actually done.
| |
The above map is Israel as it was first created by UN declaration in 1947. The blue portion is Israel, the rest is all Arab lands. Note that Jerusalem was completely within Arab lands and Israel was much smaller than it is today. Note also that there is NO Israeli presence inside the area surrounding Jerusalem. No settlements, certainly no IDF. The red square outlines the approximate region shown in the map to the right. | This is Israel as it is today. Note that the western border of Palestine has been pushed up to Jerusalem. Such a land grab is NOT the result of a defensive act, but of an invasion to bring Jerusalem under Israeli control, even though Jerusalem was not originally part of Israel. The maps clearly tell the story of an Israel conquering lands which do not belong to it. Since Sharon took office, Israel has built more illegal Jewish Settlements on Palestinian land. Note on the above map that the majority of the lands which were originally Arab lands when Israel was created, are now under complete (white) or partial (orange) Israeli control. Only the black areas remain to the Palestinians, and those are shrinking by the minute. |
How does a defensive action result in the total conquest of someone else's lands? The answer is that it does not. Israel is the aggressor. The maps of Israel then and now prove it. |
Stop buying into what Sharon claims Israel "has to do" and look at what Israel has actually done. The maps tell the story of a nation eager to conquer lands which do not belong to it. Israel has invaded virtually every nation it shares borders with, including Syria and Lebanon, and as the map above shows has almost conquered Palestine and is ready to "ethnically cleanse" the region. Far from being the poor victimized society desperately defending itself Israel likes to pretend it is in order to wrest more money from Americans, Israel is in fact the most militarily aggressive nation in the region.
Israel has ALWAYS portrayed non-Israelis as animals, in order to make it easier for the American tax payers who pay for the weapons accept their killing. And Israel has always resorted to staged terror b****ings to further its agenda, such as the Lavon affair and more recently when a supposed suicide b****er turned out to be a known Israeli collaborator. In one recent case photos showed that what was reported as a suicide b**** in Jerusalem was actually a car b****
Even now, the Israeli media admits that nobody (other than the purported b****er) was actually hurt in this latest b****ing. Now, would a real anti-Israel suicide b****er, obviously able to select where and when the b**** is to go off, really choose to detonate the b**** when there is nobody around, damaging ONLY buildings?
So, if you are being lied to about the Jerusalem b****ings, and with Israel's past use of, indeed PRIDE of, deception as a tool to be used against friend and enemy alike, it's time to take another hard look at the fact that every other nation on Earth except the United States is opposed to what Israel is doing.
You know, if the United States REALLY wanted peace in Palestine, all they have to do is stop signing the checks that pay for Israel's war machine.
"Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it."
-- Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001.
Another claim that Israel likes to make is that Palestine never really existed to start with.
"How can we return the occupied territories? There is nobody to return them to." Golda Maier, March 8, 1969.
"There was no such thing as Palestinians, they never existed." Golda Maier Israeli Prime Minister June 15, 1969
Again, maps tell a different story.

One man has been taken into custody in connection with the death of popular dancer, Ice, whose real name was David Alexander Smith.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody on Saturday, but is yet to be charged.
Ice was shot dead about 7:55 a.m. on Boxing Day, moments after he exited a bar along Newark Avenue, Kingston 11. He had gone there to purchase cigarettes. Earlier reported that investigators believed that the dancer's car was hit as when they went to the scene, there were signs of an accident. Reports are that Ice went into the bar and was shot dead when he exited.
The suspect is said to be a labourer from Content Avenue, off Waltham Park Road.
Shooting incident
Police was told that statements collected from witnesses implicated the suspect in the dancer's death. He was detained while reporting as a condition of bail in a shooting incident for which he has been charged.
Reports are that while the suspect was reporting to the Half-Way Tree Police Station, a complainant was making a report about a case of robbery with aggravation, where his jewellery and other items were stolen.
The complainant reportedly identified a watch being worn by the suspect as one that had been stolen from him and he was detained and interviewed. Based on the interview, investigators determined that he was the man they had been looking for.
He is to be further interviewed and will be charged soon.
Ice, a long-time member of the Black Roses Crew, created the popular 'Gully Creepa' dance. The dance brought attention to the dancer, especially after Jamaican speedster Usain Bolt performed the move after winning the 100-metre event at the 2008 Olympics in China in August. All passengers and crew aboard were reported safe after New York City firefighters and ferries rushed to the aid of the US Airways jet, which floated near in the river near the historic aircraft carrier The Intrepid.
US Airways flight 1549, an A-320 manufactured by Airbus en route from New York to Charlotte, N.C., was carrying as many as 146 passengers and five crew members, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
The plane took off and 3:26 p.m. ET, and 30 seconds after takeoff the pilot reported two bird strikes and said he wanted to return to LaGuardia Airport.
Controllers began giving him directions tor return, but the pilot requested to land at the nearby Teterboro airport over New Jersey. The tower reportedly lost contact soon after that last transmission.
Commuter boats in the area were seen fishing people from the frigid waters and rescuing passengers standing on the plane's wings after the crash.
ABC News' Robin Roberts, who saw the plane crash from her apartment window, said it appeared to be a controlled landing
"It completely just hit the water full force, never bounced or anything like that, and came to a relatively quick stop," Roberts said. "But it didn't skim along the water. There was very little trauma to the aircraft. It was I'm still can't believe what I saw."
The water temperature in the river was reported at 42 degrees, just above freezing.
John Ostrom of the Metropolitan Airports Commission out of Minneapolis chairs the Bird Strikes Committee, which advises the aviation industry on wildlife management to eliminate possible hazards.
"There's a variety of ways a bird can take down a plane," he told ABC News today. "There have been instances where birds the size of robins bring a plane down, all the way up to Canada geese."

WHILE THE Government is considering imposing a tax on gasolene for road maintenance, one parliamentarian is warning against the move, which would force motorists to dig deeper into their pockets at the pumps.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Works Agency Milton Hodelin told the Public Adminis-tration and Appropriations Committee of Parliament on Wednesday that a proposed tax on petroleum, in excess of $2 per litre, was being considered.
A recommendation was made in 2005/2006 that a tax of $2 per litre be imposed on gasolene. However, the CEO said: "We are reconsidering that it should be a little higher than that."
Central Kingston Member of Parliament, Ronald Thwaites suggested that the Government source money for road maintenance using another approach.
Individual retailers
"The money needed to fix the nation's roads (should) come from the petroleum company of Jamaica, opening their gates to the individual retailers, foregoing that pathway through the marketing companies," said Thwaites, who is a member of the committee.
He said the current price of fuel contained a margin of between four and 12 per cent to the petroleum marketing companies, even though no apparent value was added.
"Let them stay as rentiers and landlords, and that money be made available to your agency for the fixing of roads, without further cost to the public of Jamaica," Thwaites urged officers from the Ministry of Transport and Works.
The officers were appearing before the committee for the second time since last year.
Other measures being reviewed by the ministry to raise funds for road rehabilitation and maintenance are an increase in taxes on motor vehicle licence and the enforcement of weight limits for vehicles that are overweight.
Recommendations
Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Alwin Hales confirmed that the ministry was working on recommendations for Cabinet to raise additional funds for road maintenance through the taxing of petroleum.
He said Thwaites' proposal should be considered by Cabinet.
On the matter of weight limits for large vehicles, Dr Hales said the introduction of scales would help the authorities to remove overloaded trucks from the roads and thereby extend the life of the road. Additionally, he said the Government could earn revenue from non-compliant motorists.
The transport ministry has ordered four fixed scales to be installed at Harbour View in Kingston; Agualta Vale, St Mary; Ferry in St Catherine and Montego Bay, St James. Two portable scales have also been ordered by the ministry.
The ministry has recruited consultants to do the design for the facilities.
DON'T THEY ALREADY HAVE A SPECIAL CONSUMPTION TAX ON GAS MI NUH RATE THIS.....ANOTHER RIOT IF THEM TRY DO THIS.
The REVEREND Dr Roderick Hewitt yesterday called for tougher laws against corrupt officials in both the public and private sectors, while another minister made an impassioned plea for politicians involved in crime to repent.
Pointing to inequity in the society, Hewitt charged that the rich and "politically powerful" escape sanctions for corrupt acts, while other Jamaicans were brought to book.
evil pervading the land
Speaking at the 29th annual National Leadership Prayer Breakfast at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston, Hewitt told the audience that there was an entrenched and multifaceted evil pervading the land.
The Hope United Church pastor, who selected a text from Jeremiah for his message, said many were chasing the "dishonest dollar".
He charged that the twin forces of greed and selfishness that give rise to corruption had taken up permanent residence in the land.
Taking aim at corruption, the preacher argued that scarce resources to develop the country and to assist the poor were being siphoned off by corrupt officials.
Commendable work
He hailed Commissioner of Customs Danville Walker and Contractor General Greg Christie for the work they have been doing to weed out corruption in the country.
"Ordinary people must begin to see corrupt officials being held accountable, white-collar officials, not the little man on the corner alone," he said to resounding applause.
He encouraged the Government to launch a major campaign against corruption with the same urgency as if it were fighting a deadly infectious disease.
At the same time, the Church was not spared the verbal wrath of the preacher.
He rebuked members of the clergy who led their flocks astray in an attempt to reap big financial gains from the unregulated investment schemes.
Duty to teach
Hewitt said the shepherds had a duty to teach their parishioners how to save their earnings.
"That's the gospel we should be telling our people, (rather) than looking for quick interest over 10 per cent like you working obeah in the financial sector," he added.
Many of the so-called alternative investment schemes crashed last year.
According to Hewitt, sections of the church community fused their "designer prosperity gospel" with a corrupt financial system built on greed and deception.
In a prayer for the nation, Minister Blossom White, from the Tower Hill Missionary Church, gave a moving invocation for the country's children who were being abused and killed.
She led a prayer for a group of children from troubled communities who attended the prayer breakfast.
White called on politicians who might have contributed to acts of crime and violence in the society to repent. She said the repentance would pave the way for healing and forgiveness in the nation.

After going missing almost three years ago, 17-year-old Omar Dennis brought surprise and joy to his family this week when he suddenly returned home.
"Mi just thank God him alive and come back home safe," Rhona Henry, the boy's mother, told The Gleaner yesterday as tears filled her eyes.
700 missing last year
More than 700 children were reported missing last year. Of this number, the authorities say at least 500 have returned home.
Police officials were, however, unable to comment on whether the return of a missing child after such a lengthy period was a frequent or rare occurrence.
In 2007, THE STAR, in collaboration with the Jamaica Constabulary Force, began a series on missing persons, which sought public assistance in finding them.
Went missing in May 2006
Omar, who has a learning disability and went missing in May 2006, was one of the first persons featured in the series.
The 40-year-old mother of two said she was at home preparing her dinner when she received news that her son had turned up at his father's, Fendley Dennis, house in Allman Town. Henry said she immediately dropped what she was doing to attend to her long-lost son.
"Mi never even did feel hungry again," she said. "Mi did just happy fi know that mi son come home."
Henry said Omar has told her several stories about his whereabouts during the three years, but she planned to take him to the doctor for a full check-up.
When Omar went missing in 2004, Henry said she had reported his disappearance to the Stony Hill Police Station. Since his return home on Wednesday, she said she has called the police to inform them of his safe return. The station was unable to confirm whether the report had been filed.
Knew he would return
Omar's father said he knew his son would one day return home.
"Mi know one day I would see him," the elder Dennis said.
He said that, prior to his disappearance, Omar had a tendency to slip out of the house in the early hours of the morning. He added that measures would have to be put in place to prevent him from running off again.
Omar has run away from home on more than 10 occasions, but his parents said three years was the longest he had ever gone missing.
The teenager first ran away from home when he was 12 years old.
"He seems to have a wandering spirit," Henry said. However, she is convinced her son will never run off again.
"Mi nuh think him a leave again. He told me he missed us," she said.
Remember 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell?
Adolf and his two sisters -- one-year-old JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and 8-month-old Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell -- were removed from their parents home Tuesday night by the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services, Holland Township police chief David Van Gilson told LehighValleyLive.com.
It is unclear why the children were removed from their parents home. Gilson said his department did not receive any reports of abuse or negligence.
Heath and Deborah Campbell, the children's parents, were scheduled to appear for an undisclosed hearing Tuesday, but it was postponed, according to the website.
Due to confidentiality laws, Kate Bernyk with the N.J. Division of Youth and Family Services would not comment or even acknowledge any involvement with the Campbells when NBC10s Doug Shimell contacted them.
DYFS isnt talking much about the Campbells situation, but the kids being taken away has nothing to do with the names and birthday cake issue in December, according to Sgt. John Harris, Holland Twp. Police in Milford, N.J.
Calls to the childrens parents were met with a message that the line had been temporarily disconnected.

* More on this story Thursday (but no its not a one-off pair or Nike iDs, and yes it is a limited edition)
If you're willing to put your money-shot where you mouth is, you'd send away for a copy of the cookbook "Natural Harvest," which goes into stomach-churning detail about how to store, prepare and serve semen as food.
Yes, it has really, erm, come to this.
"Semen is not only nutritious, but it also has a wonderful texture and amazing cooking properties," the book's description goes. "Like fine wine and cheeses, the taste of semen is complex and dynamic. Semen is inexpensive to produce and is commonly available in many, if not most, homes and restaurants. Despite all of these positive qualities, semen remains neglected as a food. This book hopes to change that."
And, yes, it appears to be a real book, and a second edition is already on the way.
Right off the bat, you get a recipe for a c**ktail (a White Russian, naturally):
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. coffee liqueur
cream or milk
ice cubes
1/2 oz. semen

An ongoing feud between the nation's two major telecommunications firms, Digicel and LIME, could lead to consumers being slapped with increased phone rates in the long term, according to the country manager for one of the companies. Geoff Houston, country manager for LIME in Jamaica, told The Gleaner yesterday that if the feud worsens, it could also lead to restrictions on calls to other networks. |
Blake's pending release was announced on the BET programme, American Gangster, which aired on Thursday night.
The programme looked at the rise and fall of the Shower Posse - a criminal organisation which has its roots in Tivoli Gardens and which established bases in several cities in the US, Canada and Britain.
Blake was sentenced to 28 years in 2000 after he pleaded guilty to racketeering and criminal conspiracy. He never faced a jury after inking a plea bargain deal which resulted in the time he served while in Jamaica being used as part of his sentence.
Blake spent five years fighting extradition to the US after the American Government accused him of ordering dozens of murders, drug trafficking and other serious crimes.
The Shower Posse reigned terror on the streets of the US and its members are reported to have murdered over 1,400 persons in the United States.
The group has been accused of funnelling huge amounts of cocaine into the United States and was said to use its profits to smuggle guns and ammunition back to Jamaica.
Blake is quoted on the programme as saying "I ran it like a CEO of a Fortune 500 company. The only difference is that instead of litigating in a court of law, we held court in the streets."
The gang was said to have major drug operations in New York, Miami, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Alaska, Washington D C, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Montreal, Toronto and London.
In October 1988, Blake managed to elude a nationwide dragnet which saw more than 100 posse members being held during Operation Dragnet, which was set up to nab members of the notorious gang.
He left the shores of the United States on December 3, 1988 on a cruise ship and entered Jamaica at Ocho Rios in St Ann. He remained free for 10 years and was the owner of a car, motorcycle and jet ski rental company and a once popular night club in St Catherine.
But while Blake was enjoying his freedom, some of his cronies who were slapped with long sentences, began to turn against him. Chief among them was Charles 'Little Nut' Miller, a native of St Kitts who said many of the murders were committed on Blake's orders.
Miller was eventually sentenced to life without parole after slipping out of witness protection and leading a ruthless drug-running operation in his home country.
Also turning on Blake was Shower Posse enforcer, Kirk Bruce, who admitted to committing more than 100 murders on US soil and is now serving a life sentence.
Hey, people. Sorry I never wrote anything yesterday, I was a bit stunned by some terrible news, my girlfriends aunt died of brain cancer and it kinda shook me up a little. She and I were in church on Sunday and when the pastor asked if anyone had anybody they wanted to pray for, my friend, Suzie and I stood up. However, I couldnt stand for long because I was wearing a pair of stiletto high heels and I had to sit down. So yesterday, I was kinda racked with guilt the karmic payback type -- that maybe if I had stood a little longer, maybe shed be alive, but perhaps I am just being silly, or being self-obsessive again. Anyway, it shocked me into writing in English for todays Wednesday Tea introduction. Hope you like it, tomorrow I return to my skettel self.
IS GAVESHA HAVING BABY HERE?
Word on the street is that Gavesha did fly down to Jamaica the other day fi attend the funeral of her uncle who did drop out inna Cassava Piece the other day inna some war vibes. Condolences to the family. But everybody ah wonder if she did plan fi have the baby inna Jamaica and if she still de ya because she is a green card holder so even if the baby born here, the rights dem still authentic, right?
Anyway, we wish her a happy pregnancy and by the way, mi see her former mate Avah inna one picture weh she de a Sherlock All White boat ride and she look crawny times two.
Avah, go sort out yuself, how yu so pap down?
WHY SO MANY AWARDS SHOWS?
It seems that Jamaican stars will be downing the Hennessey and the Moët et Chandon White Star champagne this year as there are no less than five awards shows set for the next few weeks. We have the EMEs, the HYPE TV, the RE TV MVP awards, the Reggae Academy and the Gleaner-sponsored Youth View awards. I dont know about you but I am pretty sick and tired of this grinding pat-myself-on-the-back-a-thon as our media personalities and stars get caught up in self-congratulation and adulation. Ho hum. When will it all end? Especially at a time when the dancehall industry is struggling to survive. A.K.A tells me that Jamaica only has one pressing plant, one place to cut stampers and that the leading radio station still does not kick over mechanical rights to artistes. What is there to celebrate?
RAGGA, GET A GRIP
I like listening to Raga just as much as everyone else, even though his use of the proper sort out phrase at every conceivable opportunity has become somewhat nauseating. But his little spat with the Broadcasting Commission is getting ridiculous. He is claiming that he is being hara**ed by the BC because of his use of the vernacular on the radio, a development that certain powerful members of society turn up their noses at. Mi believe sat Ragga just a get a bit paranoid right now. Years ago, if you are old enough to remember the great Babatunde who waged the battle of using the local vernacular in the public space of radio and won, and showed media leaders that the common people gravitated towards the use of their language on air, could spark a phenomenon which generated millions of dollars in income for the station at the time and even threatened Mutty's supremacy as the top afternoon radio talk show host at the time. What Ragga is doing is nothing new, and I believe he is confusing what should be a matter of taste and self-restraint with state-sanctioned censorship. It's much ado about nothing.
MACKA AND BLACK-ER RECONCILE
Mi love fi see how the industry people support Macka Diamond party. Richie Feelings deal wid the whole thing nice, mi love how him intro Macka inna her gorgeous orange and silver outfit and she look like a real Money Goddess when she sauntered down the red carpet all the way to the designated birthday area. The cutting of the Money-O cake decorated with (what else) dollar signs alongside long-time friend Black-er.
She and Black-er have had their differences over the years but they had the dancehall classic, Bun Him, together so that counts for something. Queen Paula whose new single Daggering Shop is about to hit the road was present Other artistes such as Kiprich, D'Angel, Captain Barkey and Wickerman, Latiesha and Portmore Dancehall Queen Dahlia also came out to support the 'Money O' queen. Big up Tony Matterhorn, Code Red, and Black Shadow who bun an early fire. Special props to the Warlord who arrived early in the morning to bless up the Money Goddess as well.
ALAINE IS A WINDOW SHOPPER?
I never knew that Alaine was a window shopper, or worse, a try-them-all-on-but-fail-to-buy-any shopper. It seems that she went to a popular uptown clothes store recently and had the store attendants racing around the store getting her clothes and shoes to try on, only for her to complain about the high prices and leave without . We wonder why. Especially when everybody know say it tek two credit card fi buy her man shirt. Wah do dem?
PEOPLE WAAN FI KNOW...
When we ah go see Mavado Nike shoe deal materialise?
