Police say the boy shot Kenzie Marie Houk, who was eight months pregnant, once at point-blank range in her farmhouse in western Pennsylvania.

The boy, whose name was withheld by CNN because he is a juvenile, was charged with one count each of criminal homicide and homicide of an unborn child in the death of Houk, 26, Lawrence County District Attorney John Bongivengo told CNN.

Houk's 4-year-old daughter found her in her bed Friday, according to police. The child alerted landscapers working near the home, who then called authorities. VideoWatch a community in shock ť

"This is something that you wouldn't even think of in your worst nightmare, that you'd have to charge an 11-year-old with homicide," Bongivengo said, according to CNN affiliate WTAE. "It's heinous, the whole situation."

Under Pennsylvania law, anyone over the age of 10 accused of murder or homicide is charged as an adult. If convicted, the boy faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, Bongivengo said.

Authorities said the boy is the son of the victim's live-in boyfriend at the home in Wampum, about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

"At this point, we don't believe it's accidental," Bongivengo said.

The weapon was a youth model 20-gauge shotgun, designed for use by children, that belonged to the boy, according to investigators.

Bongivengo told reporters the household has no history of child abuse, but that an investigation is ongoing.

Calls to the boy's public defender, Dennis Elisco, went unanswered Saturday.

DMX is officially on "lockdown status" in Arizona's Tent City Jail for one of the dumbest moves an inmate can make -- dude threatened to fight the guards.

After X failed to report for his medication, officials say the former platinum rapper began cussing at officers and threatened to "assault somebody to get some respect."

DMX was immediately thrown into lockdown and punished with a "special diet that is a form of bread and water."

It all started when he refused to report for work, telling officers, "I already have a job and don't need this (expletive)."

Sounds like he's finally reforming..

Old Harbour suspect remanded

February 20, 2009
Started By Garrick3 Comments
The St James man charged in connection with a large gun and ammunition find in St Catherine more than a week ago has been remanded.

Courtney Anthony Jones, 43, a taxi operator of Montego Bay is on charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

He appeared in the Gun Court today but the matter was put off until March 13 to allow the prosecution more time to prepare its files.

On February 8, the police reported that eight firearms including two rifles, four pistols and two revolvers were found in the vehicle he was driving.

They say 99 assorted rounds of ammunition were also found.

If convicted, Jones faces up to 15 years in prison.

The taxi-operator who is said to be a major player in the drugs for guns trade was arrested during a Kingfish led operation.

Cop, son freed of corruption

February 23, 2009
Started By Garrick4 Comments

A police sergeant based at the Ocho Rios station and his son, who were charged with breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act, were freed last Friday.

Resident Magistrate Carol Edwards upheld no-case submissions at the end of the Crown's case in the St Ann's Bay Resident Magistrate's Court in St Ann.

Sergeant Noel Morgan and his son, Morelando Morgan, were freed following submissions by Howard Hamilton, QC, and attorney-at-law Errol Taylor that there was an irreconcilable breakdown of the identification.

The lawyers pointed out that the complainant had claimed it was Morgan who was held during a sting operation while the policemen confirmed that they held his son.

Tables turned

After the men were freed, the RM directed that the complainant, Maurice Robinson, a garage operator, be charged with larceny of the motor car, which allegedly resulted in the arrests of the Morgans.

The RM also directed that two policemen who were named in the statement which Robinson gave to the police be transferred from St Ann.

The Morgans were charged following a sting operation in St Ann in March last year in which it was alleged that money was paid for a larceny case against Robinson to be dropped.

The allegations were that on March 11, Sgt Morgan met Robinson at Reggae Beach in Prospect, St Mary, and arrangements were made for $150,000 to be paid to drop the larceny case against him. Arrangements were allegedly made for the money to be paid two days later at a gas station at White River, St Ann.

Police report

A report was made to the police and on March 13, 2008, a sting operation was set up and Sgt Morgan's son held when he allegedly went to collect money from Robinson.

Robinson testified that he met with Sgt Morgan at the beach on March 1l and then met him again two days later at White River where he paid him $50,000.

Sgt W. James and Deputy Superintendent of Police Leon Clunis, who set up the sting operation, testified that it was Sgt Morgan's son who was held on March 13 last year at White River and not Sgt Morgan.

Hamilton, who represented Sgt Morgan, suggested to the complainant that he had claimed it was the policeman he saw at White River because he had never met him.

Hamilton also claimed that Robinson knew that Sgt Morgan was selling a motor car and he telephoned him, telling him that he wanted to buy the car. It was also suggested to him that he agreed to buy the motor car from Sgt Morgan for $600,000 and was to make a deposit of $200,000.

Arrangements were made for the deposit to be paid at White River where the sting operation took place. Robinson denied all the claims.

Robinson said, under cross-examination, that he had previously paid two policemen $100,000 because they had warned him that his garage would be raided and he should not divulge that information. It was those two policemen who the RM recommended be transferred from St Ann.

Mother of teenager to face court again

February 23, 2009
Started By Garrick4 Comments

The mother of a teenager who failed to report her underage daughter's pregnancy will return to the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on March 13.

Facing a charge of aiding and abetting carnal abuse is 43-year-old Morreen Alexander of Central Village, St Catherine.

Allegations are that on February 2, Alexander's 17-year-old daughter went to the Central Village Police Station, where she reported that she was beaten by the father of her 17-month-old baby. Her small frame caused the police to ask her age and it was revealed that she was only 15 when she gave birth to the child.

The mother was later charged. The police also revealed that they are searching for a taxi operator who they say is the father of the child. The police said the taxi operator had beaten the 17-year-old after he accused her of being unfaithful to him.

For months now, the judges in St Catherine have complained about taxi operators involving themselves with underage girls.

BEIJING A 13-year-old boy apparently hot-wired a public bus and took it on a joyride in downtown Beijing and crashed it into a dozen vehicles in a scene witnesses likened to a blockbuster movie, state media reported Monday.

The middle-school student jumped into the driver's seat of city bus No. 404 while it was parked at a terminal, and sped off while the driver was in the bathroom, Xinhua News Agency said. Beijing Public Transport Holdings, which owns the bus, believes the boy started the bus without keys, Xinhua said.

No one was hurt and it was unclear if the boy had been taken into custody.

He zigzagged through Sunday morning traffic in Beijing's eastern Chaoyang district, first hitting a car and a minibus, Xinhua said, citing the Beijing Public Security Bureau.

When the driver of the car got out to talk to him, the teen reversed and crashed the bus into 10 parked vehicles, sending one crashing through the front of a clinic, Xinhua said. He also knocked down two electricity poles.

"It was like watching a blockbuster movie when I saw the bus crashing into cars like a bulldozer," said Liu, a man who runs a shoe-repair stand near the scene of the crash.

Liu was having breakfast when he said the bus came charging toward him like a "dancing dragon," Xinhua said. "I threw my canteen and ran for my life."

The report did not give the boy's name and said police were still trying to reach his guardians.

benefits of legalizing Marijuana

marijuana-leaf.jpgThe legalizing, regulating and taxing of marijuana is one practical strategy for economic recovery during this time of the economic difficulties across the globe.

Even though marijuana is currently illegal, it is still widely available. As with any scarce commodity, the plants prohibition has simply raised its value on the black market. The illegality of the drug has in no way deterred smokers from obtaining it. The riskier the law makes it for growers and distributors to meet the demands of their market the more these illegal entrepreneurs charge their customers. Also, because of the limited law-enforcement resources marijuana producers and consumers continue about their business, barely inconvenienced.

Governments waste huge amounts of their country's resources, both financial and personnel in the on-going but futile war against the marijuana market. Resources that could be put to better use creating programs to assist the victims of domestic abuse, feeding and housing the poor and improving education and the health industry.

regardless of the laws, so why not take advantage of this fact and use it to ease the government's budgetary woes and simultaneously provide more jobs?

MAD THING
Popular street dancer Kahlyl Williamson better known as 'Nott Nice' is now the butt of a series of jokes, this after some compromising photos resembling him began circulating online sometime late yesterday afternoon. The total of three pictures sent to the office of db promotions shows a dark man resembling Williamson performing sexual simulations on a plastic doll and by the facial expression and bodily demeanor it becomes obvious the act is being enjoyed though somewhat playful.

One photo in particular shows the accused sitting on a bed with the doll strategically placed over the genital area while another shows the dancer sitting in a chain between the legs of the doll. In that photo a female was observed laying to the bed watching the accused as he playfully posed for the camera.

Incidentally many are now wondering if dancehall practitioners are actually practicing what they preach or if some are living double lives. Nott Nice has issued no formal statement regarding the photos but this in any event will probably not make the situation better.

Many who have seen  the photos are of the opinion that the dancer's poses with the doll were just done in jest and should not be taken seriously, while others have disagreed.

What are your thoughts of the images we have embedded below for your viewing pleasure (see image below)

NB. Dancer Nott Nice is NOT the same person as the producer Not Nice who is responsible for several of Vybz Kartel current street anthems

THUGS SELL USED BURIAL SPOTS

February 20, 2009
Started By STUWY7710 Comments
People have been preying on burial spots in the May Pen Cemetery offering already used spaces for sale. Graves without coffins but containing skulls and bones were seen strewn all across the ground. The Kingston and St Andrew Corporation and the police say they are not familiar with the situation. however, residents from surrounding communities say that the cemetery has become fair game for a number of people who make big bucks from the 'recycling' of burial spots. These persons charge at least $4,000 or as much as $8,000 for an already used spot. These prices are much cheaper compared with the cost of burial spots offered by funeral homes which cost anywhere between $50,000 and $100,000. At least a dozen reused spots were pointed out in only a relatively small section of the burial ground. Noticeably, there was also evidence of recently used cement around the spots, a clear reflection of the exploits. The used spots were dug up and the contents removed. COFFINS AS SCRAP METAL Coffins are still a good source of scrap metal. "A big business ya now eno and time hard so a dis a di new hustle," Dane Gregory, 52, from the nearby Denham Town community said. A Tivoli Gardens' resident said: "Dem brave still, more time mi wonda if dem nuh fraid a duppy ... den again, everybody haffi live, an a eat dem a try eat a food still." Though they were reluctant to identify anyone involved in the practice, residents said the activities are no secret. "A nuh really nuttin weh a hide still, yu jus come at a bad time ... cause if yu did a look a spot fi buy, mi sure somebody woulda a set a link fi yuh ..." Kevin, another resident of Denham Town ,said. The search for a burial spot to recycle is not restricted by time or day. "All time a day, all hours a night yu si dem either a go ova deh or ova deh already ... . when yu si dem, dem have shovel, pick axe and dem wheelbarrow," a resident claimed.

Thieves make off with ATM

No-good hoodlums made off with a RBTT bank machine along Main Street, Lionel Town, Clarendon, with approximately $2.7 million on Thursday.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the thugs carried out the theft sometime between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. yesterday.

Reports are that culprits gained entry by using a swipe card. Six bolts used to hold the machine in place were cut.

A police source also said the machine's alarm system was disengaged while the thieves used bubble gum to block the security camera. The Lionel Town police are investigating.

The robbery brings to four the number of automated teller machine (ATM) thefts in Clarendon since last August.
Superintendent Cornwall 'Bigga' Ford was the third witness called for the defence at the trial of 25-year-old waiter Sheldon Pusey who is charged with the murder of 64-year-old Ambassador Peter King. The trial was adjourned yesterday for continuation on March 2 in the Home Circuit Court. The adjournment was granted to facilitate some of the jurors who had business arrangements for next week. On being examined yesterday by defence lawyer Berry Bryan, Supt Ford said that on March 20, he was at a management team meeting with other senior police officers when he received a telephone call. He said as a result, he went to the residence of Peter King. Question: Have you ever been to that premises before? Answer: Yes, sir. Question: Official or unofficial business. Answer: On duty (which meant it was on official business). Bryan: That is all I will ask, I will move on. Supt Ford said he spoke to persons at the premises on March 20, 2006, but he had never taken a statement from anyone there. Prosecutors Caroline Hay and Dahlia Findlay said they had no cross-examination for Supt Ford. Bryan had sought to put in a medical record yesterday through Inspector Vera Thomas but prosecutor Caroline Hay objected. She was called as a witness for the defence and she gave detailed evidence as to how identification parades were conducted at the Half-Way Tree Police Station. Calling more witnesses Senior Puisne Judge Marva McIntosh told Berry that the document could not be tendered through that witness. Berry then indicated that he was going to call two more witnesses. The judge told him that he could call 40 witnesses "because we are here to put relevant evidence before the jury so they can come to a verdict. So you can call 50 or 80 witnesses". Fatally stabbed King was fatally stabbed and chopped at his house at 11A Waterloo Road, St Andrew, between March 19 and 20, 2006. Pusey was arrested and charged in March 2007 and he said in his defence last week that King was forcing him to be intimate with him and he stabbed him. The trial began on January 19 and the judge in granting a one-week adjournment yesterday, apologised to the 12-member jury that the trial was proceeding in instalments.

TERRY GARDNER, a legal secretary in California, returned home from work recently to find two police officers waiting. They said her brother had told them he thought she might be having a breakdown because she had shaved her head.

Ms. Gardner, 50, said in a telephone interview that she had told the officers that she was fine and had shaved her head for an advertising campaign by Air New Zealand, which had hired her to display a temporary tattoo. She turned around and showed them the message, written in henna on the back of her head: Need A Change? Head Down to New Zealand. www.airnewzealand.com.

Ms. Gardner was among 30 of what the airline calls cranial billboards. For shaving their noggins and displaying the ad copy for two weeks in November, they received either a round-trip ticket to New Zealand (worth about $1,200) or $777 in cash (an allusion to the Boeing 777, a model in the airlines fleet).

Swedish prosecutors have dropped half of the charges against the popular file-sharing site, The Pirate Bay. This preliminary victory came on the first day of the trial which is garnering global attention as the verdict will have ramifications for BitTorrent sites all around the world.

The original charges levied against The Pirate Bay site owners included assisting in the distribution of copyrighted material and grating access to files; however, prosecutors have now refocused their efforts on only the act of making the material available.

The Pirate Bay site owners have always argued the same thing: none of the files actually live on their servers, they just make the information available for people to use, which they contend is not against Swedish law.

Since digital downloads are still relatively new territory, it's landmark trials like this one which will set the legal standards for sites around the world. The Pirate Bay case is especially high profile considering the extremely vast user base, so everyone (torrent freaks, the RIAA and lawyers included) are keeping a close eye to see how this one pans out.

Although this mini-victory is a good sign, the guys from The Pirate Bay will still have a sticky time trying to get out of paying large fines and even avoiding jail time, but hopefully this win marks a good start.

A very disturbing photo of superstar Rihanna's battered face has been leaked to the public via entertainment website TMZ.com.

Now that the photo is released, industry insiders and fans are now wondering if Chris Brown will indeed face criminal charges.

However according ABC News legal analyst Dana Cole, "If there's just swelling then Chris Brown
may get away with simply being charged as a misdemeanor. If that
picture does in fact depict broken bones, facial fractures, contusions,
then he's looking at a felony and probable jail time."

Who leaked the photo?

According to reports, only the cops who were on the scene took photos of Rihannas
injuries so the photo could have only been leaked to the public by
someone of that police division. An internal investigation has now been
launched by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The friend said Rihanna, 20, visited a doctor last Friday, five days after Brown allegedly roughed her up following a fight in the couples rented Lamborghini.

It was because of the endless headaches shes been having since Chris hit her, the friend said.

The doctors were concerned about the contusions on the sides of her head.

The magazine reports that Rihanna is torn over helping cops build a case.

Brown, 19, was arrested the night of the Grammys on suspicion of making criminal threats and was released on $50,000 bail.

I mean, damn, her eyes black and the sides of her face are all f-d up, the friend told Us. But she keeps saying she still loves him.

Rihannas parents are reportedly pleading with her not to worry about how jail time might affect Browns career, according to Us. A Daily News source said the Barbados-bred beauty is cooperating with police.

Awww damn. Ole girl got beat upside the head and wants to go back for more. Sounds like she needs a serious intervention - stat.

Riahanna after the beating...
Ace deejay Spice is of two minds regarding whether to have a big, fairy-tale wedding or a private affair with her long-time boyfriend and fiancé Nicholas Lall. The deejay recently got engaged to the father of her child on February 7, during his birthday party. She told THE STAR that she was very surprised when he proposed. She exclaimed "Oh my God", over and over, before finally accepting his proposal. "I do want to get married. My dream wedding has always been a big wedding, riding up on a white horse, but that was before I was famous. So now I have to think about being in the public eye and whether I want to go through with it - a fairy-tale wedding or to have a more private thing." Spice will, however, have a long time to make up her mind, as she claims that while she might be engaged, she doesn't want to get married any time soon. "He popped the question but we haven't set a date; it's just that I am so busy right now. We're happy and in love, but a marriage is not something I want to just jump into and we haven't even bought a house together or anything." She continued: "This is not a public marriage. I want to keep it as private as possible." Spice describes herself as a very committed person who wants to be financially and emotionally stable before taking such a big step. However, fans will not see the artiste wearing her engagement ring to stage shows or events. She will only wear the symbol of their love in the company of close friends and family. Raunchy act Known as one of the raunchiest deejays around, settling down and getting married might affect the artiste's image, but Spice wants to stay as close to her roots as possible. According to her, since the news was leaked to the media about her engagement, she has been getting numerous calls from her male fans. She said, with a laugh: "Nuff man a call me, seh how mi a go get married on them, but I tell them is an engagement thing, we're not committed yet so yuh still have a chance." Spice says her fiancé knows how to cope with her career and always has a mature attitude when it comes to the attention she receives from male fans. Having just shot a video for her song No Matter What People Say, she is also focusing on studio work and being a mother to her son, Nicholas Lall Jr, with whom she tries to spend as much time as possible.

Lil Jon is known to the hip-hop world as the "King of Crunk," a superstar rapper and producer. What they probably don't know is he started out as a dancehall selecta or deejay, as a member of the Four Seasons Sound System during the '90s, in his hometown of Atlanta. Now the entertainer, formally known as Jonathan Smith, is coming full circle, flirting with his love of Caribbean music by injecting his unique crunk flavor into this year's Carnival festivities in Trinidad.

Jon will not only be performing, but he has actually produced a beat for a collaboration between him, Latin hip-hop star Pitbull, and soca artist Machel Montano, called "Floor On Fire." The success of the production has evolved the track into a full-fledged riddim, with numerous Caribbean stars voicing on it, including Kevin Lyttle and Mr. Vegas. As a result, a new breed of soca is being introduced and will see its debut on soca's most prolific stage - Trinidad Carnival.

suge_ap226b.jpgFormer Death Row records boss Marion "Suge" Knight has been treated in hospital for facial injuries after a fight in a US hotel on Monday morning.

Police was called to the W hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona, by Security guards after two groups of guests exchanged "heated words in the VIP area".

According to the Officers at the scene Mr Knight was punched twice in the face.

The fight came to an end after the police had to use their taser stun guns. Two men were arrested and charged with aggravated assault. They are Leon Anderson and Robert Carnes Jr, who identified himself as a business manager for R&B star Akon.

Akon was not present during the fracas.

Knight sustained broken facial bones and was taken to hospital, the police report said.

Suge is best known for launching the solo careers of Dr. Dre Snoop Dogg on his label, Death Row Records.

He sold tens of millions of records before collapsing in debt and mismanagement in 2006.

After Knight filed for bankruptcy, the label was sold at auction for $24m (Ł12m).

Always a magnet for controversy, his career has been overshadowed by run-ins with the law in recent years.

Last May he was assaulted and knocked out at the Shag Nightclub in Los Angeles. Also in August he was arrested in Las Vegas on drug and assault charges after allegedly punching his girlfriend and pulling a knife on her during an argument outside a strip club.

He previously served time in jail for violating his probation on an earlier assault charge.

Triple murderer could face the gallows

Roman 'Puggo' Thomas, of Central Village, St Catherine, was found guilty of triple murder and could face the death penalty.

A Home Circuit Court jury retired for more than three hours yesterday and found him guilty.

Supreme Court Judge Paulette Williams has put off sentencing until March 6.

The Crown, represented by Crown Counsel Karen Seymour-Johnson, led evidence that on February 22, 2004, Thomas went to Watson Grove, Portmore, St Catherine and shot dead two men and a woman.

The sole witness who was in the Witness Protection Programme only knew the deceased by their aliases. Photographs were shown to him in court and he identified the deceased as the persons who he saw Thomas firing shots at on February 22, 2004.

One of the deceased was a Rastafarian whose correct name was Paul Henry but he was known as 'Matlock'. The others were Anthony 'Teo' Hunter and his girlfriend Cleta Atkinson.

Thomas denied being involved in any shooting.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Other than having a bit of a headache, a Kansas City woman was uninjured after a bullet fired at her ended up tangled in her hair weave. Police said the 20-year-old woman was in a convenience store parking lot late Wednesday when a man flagged her down and told her that her ex-boyfriend still loved her.

She replied, "Well I dont love him," then heard gunshots. She said she looked behind the vehicle and saw her ex-boyfriend firing a handgun at her. She stomped her accelerator and fled, then turned into another parking lot and called police.

She told officers she recently had ended an eight-month relationship with the suspect.

Police arrested the ex-boyfriend and his friend in a car.

SAN FRANCISCO A woman in the San Francisco Bay area was jumped by four men, taunted for being a lesbian, repeatedly raped and left naked outside an abandoned apartment building, authorities said Monday.

Detectives say the 28-year-old victim was attacked Dec. 13 after she got out of her car, which bore a rainbow gay pride sticker. The men, who ranged from their late teens to their 30s, made comments indicating they knew her sexual orientation, said Richmond police Lt. Mark Gagan.

"It just pushes it beyond fathomable," he said. "The level of trauma physical and emotional this victim has suffered is extreme."

Authorities are characterizing the attack as a hate crime but declined to reveal why they think the woman was singled out because of her sexual orientation. Gagan would say only that the victim lived openly with a female partner and had a rainbow flag sticker on her car.

The 45-minute attack began when one of the men approached the woman as she crossed the street, struck her with a blunt object, ordered her to disrobe and sexually assaulted her on the spot with the help of the other men.

When the group saw another person approaching, they forced the victim back into her car and took her to a burned-out apartment building, where she was raped again inside and outside the vehicle. The assailants took her wallet and drove off in her car. Officers found the car abandoned two days later.

The woman sought help from a nearby resident, and she was examined at a hospital. Although the victim said she did not know her attackers, detectives hope someone in the community knows them. One of the men went by the nickname "Blue" and another was called "Pato," according to authorities.

Richmond police are offering a $10,000 award for information leading to the arrest of the attackers.

Gay rights advocates note that hate crimes based on sexual orientation have increased nationwide as of late. There were 1,415 such crimes in 2006 and 1,460 in 2007, both times making up about 16 percent of the total, according to the FBI.

Avy Skolnik, a coordinator with the New York-based National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs, noted that gay, lesbian and transgender crime victims may be more reluctant than heterosexual victims to contact police.

"Assailants target LGBT people of all gender identities with sexual assault," he said. "Such targeting is one of the most cruel, dehumanizing and violent forms of hate violence that our communities experience."

Skolnik said the group plans to analyze hate crime data to see whether fluctuations may be related to the gay marriage bans that appeared on ballots this year in California, Arizona and Florida.

"Anytime there is an anti-LGBT initiative, we tend to see spikes both in the numbers and the severity of attacks," he said. "People feel this extra entitlement to act out their prejudice."

A police officer examines the scene where a man was shot by police in the vicinity of the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre in St Andrew yesterday.

A Gleaner photojournalist was yesterday taken into custody and charged by the police while trying to capture images of a crime scene, following a police shooting in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, in the afternoon.

Ricardo Makyn was slapped with three charges for using abusive language to a police officer; assaulting a police officer; and, disobeying the instructions of a police officer.

Makyn says he was standing outside an area cordoned off by the police, snapping photographs of the crime scene, when an officer in plain clothes approached him and demand that he stop taking photographs.

Shoved, twice

An argument then developed during which, the photographer says, he was shoved, twice.

Makyn was then taken to the Half-Way Tree Police station where he was charged.

He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 and is scheduled to appear in the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court on March 4.

Makyn was covering the shooting of a man accused of stealing a police officer's phone when he was arrested.

According to police, the man was shot after he wielded a knife at the officer.

The injured man was taken to hospital.

Teenagers gone wild

TeensGoneWildFlyerBack.jpgIt is with growing concern that we observe the epidemic of teenage girls having sexual relations with bus drivers and conductors, not to mention their loose behavior on the buses.
One cannot recall such reports during the era of the JOS transportation system - but when the mini busses, namely the 'Quarter million' and Encava busses came on stream, the girls just 'bruk out'.
This could be blamed on the perversion of drivers and conductors of these buses. During the 80's to present day the buses are designed to impress and attract the young girls. They are colorfully designed with catchy names imprinted across the top of the windshield and have creative graphics done on the bodies. They are each accessorised with up to date audio and video systems which would belt out the latest songs at ear splitting decibels, much to the delight of all school goers.
Girls especially were impressed with the added attention of bus conductors who would 'talk them up', usually not charging them any fare.
It was especially ego boosting to be the one selected for the added attention, especially when one would normally hear the 'ductors shouting, at each bus stop, "No schoolers!" but then be the one schooler to be smiled at and allowed entrance on said same bus. The poor girl could not help but be flattered.
Now it has escalated. Girls are not as shy and easily impressed as they were two decades ago. Conductors no longer have to 'talk up a girl' as she would do the 'talking up' herself. Girls today would be the 'selector' on a bus as she will request each song that she wants to hear. Their uniforms are shorter and the pockets cut out for easy access for nimble fingers and other body parts as they 'doubled up', meaning girls in a boys lap when the bus is filled.
Some of these school girls today are totally immoral and will do absolutely anything to gain the attention of the desired male. Eyebrows are sculptured, face bleached, or powdered, eyes lined and lips perfectly glossed, while in uniform!
Just a few weeks ago while at a stop light I observed some female students in the back of a Hiace minivan which was vibrating with music. They were bouncing about in their seat arms and head swinging as they did the 'dutty wine', when the music 'sweet' them they clapped their hand and cursed badwords to show their excitement. When one girl caught me staring at them with obvious disapproval she just slammed the window shut and continued gyrating.

Tychicus glad 'daggering' is banned

daggering.JPGTychicus says that he is glad to see that the Broadcasting Commission has followed his lead and has banned all songs using the word 'daggering'.

Tychicus who was an enthusiastic crusader proclaiming the evils of daggering is very happy with the move.
He says that now that daggering is gone, carnival too must go. He says that if the downtown romping shop is gone then the uptown romping shop must go also. He says that carnival songs which suggest daggering but use different words should also be banned.

Tychicus says that he wants to introduce Jamaicans to good clean dances which involves face-to-face dance move not backways, as God is always moving forward not backwards.

He has three dance moves that he wants to promote:
"Customer Care" where the partners face each other and take care of their partners.
"Front liner" which is another face-to-face dance, the opposite of "back it up".
"Ten speed blender" this is where the dancer rotates his body like a blender.

He claims to have learnt how to dance clean dances from the Almighty and not from any dance school. He hopes that the older members of the population who are resistant to change will appreciate and accept his dance moves.

Trumpcasinos.jpgThree casinos belonging to Trump Entertainment: the Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino and Trump Marina Hotel Casino, once run by Donald Trump, have filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, for the 3rd time on Tuesday.
Trump Entertainment Resorts made the filing in US Bankruptcy Court in Camden, New Jersey four days after real estate mogul, Donald Trump resigned as chairman of its board.

Trump states that even though it has his name he has nothing to do with the company, and may even seek legal action to force the company to stop using his name. He is, however, saddened over the end of a venture that was so publicly associated with his name and image.
All three of the casinos will continue to operate during the bankruptcy proceedings, and the sale of the Trump Marina Hotel to Richard Fields, Trumps protege, will continue as scheduled.

Trumps daughter, Ivanka, whose image has been used to market the casinos also resigned from the board.
