Lil Kim in the news…again

April 27, 2009

lil-kim.jpgPoor Lil Kim seems that trouble just follows her wherever she goes. The latest according to a TMZ report is that the rapper, who has already served time for not snitching, was unknowingly driving a stolen Bentley for months before it was taken from her New Jersey home last year.

According to the website Lil' Kim claims the silver Bentley was a gift from music producer Scott Storch, but the Repo man wasn't trying to hear that sob story when they towed it away.Turns out, Storch had stopped making payments on the expensive car and decided to give it to Kim instead of returning it to the Broward leasing company he got it from. The lease was for $85,000, according to the Sun-Sentinel, but the car was probably worth a lot more.Bad move because now Storch is facing grand theft auto charges and is set to appear in court next month.Meanwhile, Lil' Kim is trying to survive the next round of cuts on "Dancing With The Stars."Word of advice for the sexy rapping felon: next time someone offers you an $85,000 gift, get a receipt.

BIG NEWS TOMORROW SEAN PAUL!!!

MAKE SURE TO LOG ON RIGHT HERE TOMORROW FOR BIG NEWS ABOUT THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE 1ST SINGLE OFF SEAN PAUL'S NEW ALBUM!!!! YOU READY???? WE BACKKK!!!

Scott Storch isn't dead. He's not in jail. The famed producer isn't even on the run from the police, as you may have heard through the grapevine over the past year. Storch has been focusing on rebuilding his life, because he did, in fact, hit rock bottom.

Lost in a three-year cocaine-abusing haze, he lost more money than most people reading this story will see in five lifetimes: $30 million. Yes, he blew almost his entire fortune on coke, cars, houses, lavish trips, partying and a series of what he calls "poor judgment decisions." Earlier this month, Storch was arrested for grand theft auto for allegedly failing to return a Bentley he'd leased in 2006. And last year, Storch hit legal trouble after reportedly falling behind on both his child-support payments and his property taxes.

But he has come out of his white-powder fog. The producer says he is in recovery, and, as people who love his music will be elated to hear, he's back making music. On Wednesday night, MTV News caught up with the Grammy winner, who at one time could do no wrong in the studio as he supplied classic beats, not mere hits, for people like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Fat Joe and Beyoncé.

"I'm taking it back to square one," he said, sitting in a Miami studio. The boards in the factory displayed his name and his publishing company, Tuff Jew.

"I found myself slipping a little bit," he said with a very anxious look on his face. "I got involved in doing drugs. I had to get myself into recovery. Being in the life that I was living very fast-moving, option to do anything you want, go anywhere you wanna go it definitely takes its toll on you, and you lose your concept of reality. I had to get it under control. I had to take it back to the beginning and back to the Hit Factory, where I made a lot of my hits."

Storch is currently living in a three-quarter house, where he is supervised by a live-in counselor but allowed to go to work in the studio as long as he's back by curfew.

"Just taking it day by day," the producer said of his life now. "I haven't won the war. It's not like something you can just fix and it's just gone. Addiction is a disease, and I have to constantly battle it. I feel so much better and have more clarity, especially in the studio. It's cool. It's been a really productive period. ... With the help of my publisher TVT, I've had the chance to woodshed and come up with a whole new vibe. I'm very happy right now."
April 23, 2009. MediaTakeOut.com is hearing that theres some REAL DRAMA going on behind the scenes over between rapper 50 Cent and his label, Interscope Records. According to one of our snitches, the powers that be over at Interscope are not happy with 50s latest LP Before I Self Destruct and are asking that he re-record the entire album.

Word is that the label is unhappy with the lack of buzz from the streets that 50s track releases off the album have received thusfar.

But were hearing that 50s not happy with Interscope either. According to MediaTakeOut.coms insider, 50 and his peeps feel that there are plenty of hot singles on the album and that any lack of buzz is because Interscope hasnt been promoting the project appropriately.

Well see how this plays out

Veteran R&B/Hip-Hop producer Teddy Riley revealed that two of his most enduring groups - Guy and Blackstreet - are reuniting and preparing new material for release.

Riley made the announcement today (April 25) with certain original group members present, during Tony Neals 5th Annual Core DJ Retreat in Atlanta, Georgia.

Group members Teddy Riley, Aaron Hall, Damion Hall (Guy) and Chauncey Hannibal and Eric Williams (Blackstreet) spoke on a panel during the event.

The two groups were speaking to attendees about artist and DJ relations, how to succeed in the music business and the importance of parents teaching their children real music.

During the course of the panel, Riley, who is A&Ring the music for Salt-N-Pepas reality show in addition to the movie Hype Nation, told the packed crowd of industry tastemakers that both groups are working on forthcoming albums.

It took a lot for us to get here, Riley told the crowd, just before founding Guy member Aaron Hall broke into song.

Both Guy and Blackstreet, will be performing tomorrow (April 26) during The Core DJ Awards, which is sponsored by Akons Konvict Music.

The Core DJ Retreat started on Friday (April 24) and run suntil Monday (April 27) at the W Hotel in downtown Atlanta.

The semi-annual event welcomes all DJs regardless of their DJ crew affiliations, to foster education, professional development and networking.

Guy was one of the first major groups to mix Hip-Hop sounds with R*B. The group featured Teddy Riley and brothers Aaron Hall and Damion Hall.

Riley is credited with the development of a new sound in R&B called New Jack Swing.

Using this sound, Guy was signed to the now legendary label Uptown Records, which was founded by Andre Harrell.

Uptown, which also launched the career of Sean Diddy C****s, counted artists like Mary J. Blige, Heavy D., Jodeci, Monifah, Christopher Williams, Soul 4 Real and Father MC as artists on the roster.

Under Rileys production watch, Guy churned out a string of hits for Uptown, including Piece of My Love, I Like It, Lets Chill, as well as two multi-platinum albums, Guy (1988) and The Future (1990).

Shortly after the success of Guy, Riley branched out and produced hit singles for New Edition as well as Wreckx-N-Effects classic Rump Shaker in 1992.

Riley launched Blackstreet in 1992, shortly after Guys break up.

The groups debut album BLACKstreet produced the hit single Before I Let You Go.

Blackstreet followed up with their sophomore album Another Level in 1996, which contained the #1 hit single No Diggity, featuring Dr. Dre and Queen Pen.

Both groups tried their hand at comeback albums in the early 2000s and toured briefly as recent as 2006.

You cant beat having Guy and Blackstreet unite for the first time after nine years, in front of 600 DJs, Core DJ Founder Tony Neal told AllHipHop.com. They have to understand the magnitude of what just happened.

bounty_killer_beenie_man_beaten_camp_fire_jamaica_show_photos.jpg

What happened at Camp Fire is the question everyone is asking? Some people are saying that Mavados entourage and Kartels entourage had a flare up while others are saying that members of the Bounty Killer-led Alliance attacked Beenie Man and members of his entourage. However, theres no way Mavados entourage and Vybz Kartels entourage could have been in any tussle as Vybz Kartel werent even billed for the show.

Just as we were about to contact, the Alliance camp an email was already sent to us from Julian Jones-Griffith whos the spokes person/management for the Alliance. Below is a copy his statement explaining what took place at Camp Fire.

Several people have called members of the Alliance that day with news that Beenie Man was on the radio saying words to the effect that he and his entourage were beaten up by the Alliance or people attending Camp Fire with the Alliance in Ewarton  (December 31, 2008).

If indeed Beenie Man did that, we would just like to state categorically that its untrue and we are in the process of acquiring the recording from the radio station and will not hesitate to take legal action against Beenie if our lawyers deem any of his statements to be slanderous and/or libelous.

XXL magazines latest issue features Eminem as the cover artist, who spoke on the topic of Asher Roth in his interview.

While stating he hasnt really gotten a chance to sit down and thoroughly listen to the Pennsylvania emcee, Em did acknowledge the whispers of their supposed comparisons. There was talk about people saying he sounded like me, and he was doing this and that and, you know, trying to take what I do and do itThe stuff that I've heard from him honestly, which certainly isn't enough for me to make my own opinion and say, 'Yeah, he does sound like me' or 'No, he doesn't.' But the couple of songs I've heard, I don't really think he does. You know what I mean?

Showing admiration for the up-and-comer rapper, Eminem had nothing but love. He's doing his own thing. I can respect it, too, because at the end of the day, I think he's dope.

Twitter is a free social messaging utility for staying connected in real-time. It allows users to send and read other users updates that are known as tweets.

In a word, Twitter has taken the world by STORM. Numerous international artistes including P. Diddy (437,276 followers as at April 9, 2009) and Soulja Boy (240,861 followers as at April 9, 2009) are already using it with good effect to build their personal brands and connect with fans all over the world.

But what about dancehall / reggae artistes? There are a few who are already on Twitter (weve provided a list below), but by and large our artistes have ignored (or not caught on to) Twitter. Why should dancehall / reggae artiste be on Twitter? Heres our top 5 list of reasons:

  1. 24-7 Exposure - its a good way for your fans to get just a peak into your day-to-day life you control what is put out, so no worries about it being invasive.
  2. Big it up - its another way to promote yourself upcoming shows, new album in the works, new video released etc. Get the word out.
  3. Up-to-the-time - get real-time feedback for example about a song idea or new video. Ask a question and there will likely be rapid feedback of all sorts from the Twittersphere.
  4. Keep it real - use Twitter as your soap-box. If you are adamant about a particular cause or topic, use Twitter to get the word out about it.
  5. Link up - use Twitter to connect with fellow artistes, both local and International.

There are lots of other reasons too for example, if you dont get on Twitter, eventually someone will go on there impersonating you! Also, youre free to say whatever you want on Twitter no Broadcasting Commission bleeps, watch dogs etc. Finally, its COOL youre heading to New York or Germany for a show, you pop out your Blackberry and tweet that your flight is delayed but youll be there for the show later tonight, link up. Whos cooler than you???

Penn State Erie researchers Eric Corty and Jenay Guardiani conducted a survey of 50 full members of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research, which include psychologists, physicians, social workers, marriage/family therapists and nurses who have collectively seen thousands of patients over several decades.

Thirty-four, or 68 percent, of the group responded and rated a range of time amounts for sexual intercourse, from penetration of the vagina by the penis until ejaculation, that they considered adequate, desirable, too short and too long.

The average therapists responses defined the ranges of intercourse activity times: "adequate," from 3-7 minutes; "desirable," from 7-13 minutes; "too short" from 1-2 minutes; and "too long" from 10-30 minutes.

Joan Gordon-Webley, executive director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA), looks at garbage that she said was dumped from businesses in a bin in New Kingston on Friday. - Norman Grindley

Head of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA), Joan Gordon-Webley, says that businesses in New Kingston which flout the NSWMA Act will feel the full force of the law.

Webley, who took an enforcement team to New Kingston business district where four establishments were found in breach on Friday, called the situation an irony.

"They will call you if there is a pin on the street, yet still some of their very own will not comply; they just give persons money to dump their garbage anywhere. It will not be business as usual, they must dispose of their waste properly,'' Webley said.

None of the businesses served with notices to remove their garbage could produce a receipt from any garbage removal company contracted to remove their waste.

The operators told the enforcement team they normally pay a man to take the waste outside and throw it away. This turn out to be an expensive act as they will be fined $10,000 for each bag of waste that was found.

Representatives of one business said they paid a man to work for them. ''We don't have any receipts as we pay for the person to sweep the shop and take out the garbage,'' the representative said. The business was advised that as long as it is a commercial entity, it needs to make arrangement to properly removed and store its waste.

Philip Morgan, a senior investigator at the NSWMA, said if businesses served with notices to remove the garbage do not comply, a summon for disobedience will follow and individuals can be fined up to $100,000 on each count.

CARIBBEAN FLAVOUR Alternative haven for singer Philip 7

When Barbadian singer, Philip 7, hits the stage, the edgy alternative/rock sound that resonates from his powerful frame is the last thing audiences expect to hear.

With an inborn love for music, Philip 7, aka Philip Scantlebury, has carved a niche for himself in a musical genre not typically known for its West Indian roots. The Sunday Gleaner spoke with the easy-going Barbadian singer while he is in Jamaica working on new singles.

Having done four months of steady vocal training, Philip 7 has a powerful, raw vocal talent that has made him a blossoming artiste in Barbados.

However, while Philip is currently a musical success, music wasn't something that he pursued while growing up. "Music got involved with me. It's fate, really. I tried running from music all my life, having never participated in singing in school or being on the choir, but music is the only thing in my life that kept coming back to me," he said.

Early beginnings

Philip's stint in music started over a decade ago when he began performing with the Barbadian R&B a cappella group, Suave.

Shortly after the break-up of Suave, Philip was invited to audition for the blues and soul band, Acoustic Blue.

With a successful audition, Philip's growth and evolution as an artiste began, and it was while with Acoustic Blue that he got bitten by the rock bug.

Eventually gaining a spot on the local nightclub circuit, the band changed its name to Le Groove and began performing at McBride's Irish Pub.

Under the name Le Groove, Philip recorded six original tracks, notably Without You and Where Were You?

While alternative music is not as popular as reggae in Barbados, Philip soon had a following of fans in his homeland.

He explained, "I started off singing an alternative flavour but I have more range to my music, having to try to appeal to everyone, so I play anything from R&B, hip hop, reggae, soul and jazz."

In 2005, Philip merged with the alternative band, Masala, and together they tirelessly rehearsed and fine-tuned their sound to set the band apart from any other.

First big break

However, Philip believes his first big break in music came with the single, Beautiful Stranger, which was then remixed into a reggae version by Clive Hunt at Harmony House in Jamaica.

"Beautiful Stranger right now is the song everyone in Barbados knows me for. Everyone thought it was an American singer at first," he explained.

Philip's talent was soon recognised in his homeland when he was awarded 'Best Rock/Alternative Artiste' at the third annual Barbados Music Awards.

With the success of Beautiful Stranger, Philip has been working with Barbadian producer Gary Serrao and Canadian-based international producer Derek Brin with new alternative tracks, Nothing Left to Say and Unconditional.

Working with producers

Philip has released a soca song, Bring Di Wuk, which he hopes will make it big for Barbados' upcoming Crop Over season, as well as the R&B song, Silence Me.

While in Jamaica, Philip has been working with producers such as Bulby, Stephen McGregor and Jeremy Harding, among many others. He hopes by the end of the year to release his first solo album, but he hasn't decided which genres of music will be featured.

In the meantime, Philip is looking forward to a bright career in music as he says, "I am music. It's my love and passion."

STEPHEN Di GeniusMCGREGOR Stephen McGregor has been rightfully defined in the media as a musical genius, and indeed those terms are no exaggeration. Stephen, at only 16 years old is one of Jamaicas best producers. Since his days at the Vaz Prep School, Stephen started writing his own material after school. He wrote his first song School Done Rule, a song about importance of staying in school, at the age of five and it enjoyed airplay, locally as well as abroad in 1995. Since Vaz prep write own material after school At the young age of ten, the talented Stephen played already five instruments, including the piano, violin, drums, bass, guitar, which provides him with the basis for much of his work. His in depth knowledge and deep understanding and feeling for music puts him way ahead of many others in the biz. In addition he also has the experience of travelling and performing all over the globe with his family. Stephen has performed in the USA, Canada, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean and knows the different tastes and preferences of music that people have in the world. Stephen has the steering wheel of the Big Ship in his grip and he works hard alongside his brother Daniel aka Chino to manifest their visions and to ensure that the Ship is sailing with full blown sails into the future. Soulja Boy Disses Nas

February 25, 2009
Started By dj rushie27 Comments
Soulja Boy, who is known for uploading popular videos to Youtube, has released another video that is stirring up a new controversy. In the video, the young rapper is claiming that Nas killed hip-hop by coming out and saying "hip-hop is dead."

The video features Soulja Boy and two of his friends, eating at a kitchen table discussing the state of hip-hop. The conversation starts off with SB giving props to Lil' Wayne as the "best rapper alive." Soulja Boy continues to say that when someone in hip hop comes out and says something, it becomes true. He then starts to go in on Nas, who released an album titled Hip-Hop Is Dead back in 2007.

"[Nas] came out publicly and said 'hip hop is dead,' and then after that everybody started saying hip hop is dead," says Soulja Boy. "If Nas would have never said 'hip hop is dead,' then motherf***ers would have never thought it would have died. They would have never had that terminology."

As the conversation continues, SB continues to call Nas out for his statements. "He killed his own career with that sh*t. He should have thought about that sh*t though...You come out saying 'hip hop is dead' and you do hip hop, what the f*ck you doing? Shut the eff up and go in the studio!"

In the video, Soulja Boy commends other rappers for their statements. He describes "some good sh*t to say" as T.I. calling himself the king of the south, Lil' Wayne proclaiming that he's the best rapper alive, and 50 Cent saying he runs New York.

Soulja Boy goes on to assert his own title, leaving the comment open for someone to come back at him. He boasts, "I'm the king of the internet. It's something you could argue with, but it's not something you could take from somebody.

In short, SB sums up his video by making it clear that he disagrees with Nas. "Hip-Hop is dead, that's some strong *ss words."

Hip-hop icon NAS is teaming up with reggae star DAMIAN 'JUNIOR GONG' MARLEY to release a new album.
The I Can hitmaker reveals he has been busy in the studio with Bob Marley's son to produce a disc paying tribute to their cultural roots.

The project has yet to get a release date, but Nas is aiming for this spring (09), adding: "(It's) too early to tell the title or anything like that."

The pair has been recording quietly in Los Angeles for the last several weeks.

Nas' manager, Anthony Saleh, tells Billboard the project will most likely be released in the spring. It's not clear which label will release it; Nas is signed to Def Jam, while Marley records for Universal.

"We've been recording in a studio, where people like Mick Jagger are recording. No one knew who we were," Saleh says. "We're going to Miami this week to finish it up and we're aiming to tour for the album this summer."

In addition to its regular incarnation, the album may also be released in a special edition exclusively through Best Buy or Target. A portion of the proceeds will go toward building a school in Africa, though details are still being solidified.

Nas was nominated for two Grammys at Sunday's 51st annual awards but lost in both the best rap solo performance and best rap album categories.
kanye said this in a recent interview "Soulja boy is fresh as hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that aint Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that aint even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like its 96 again and all they do is hate on new sh*t? N*ggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning thats Nas level shit he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas shit if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track Silent Murder on it."

WHENEVER IT RAINS heavily, some people (especially in certain inner city communities) leave their homes and spitefully stand up on the road side directly in front of a puddle. They then glare at every passing motorist with a look on their faces that says "if you think you bad splash me." Why?

Gentlemen, have you ever been walking down the street and see two ladies walking towards you, and you wink or wave or offer some other indication of social interest only to find that it is the one that you personally find least attractive who responds? Why?

Then there are the people who approach you to converse and they preface their convoluted presentation with the statement "yu done know." In other words, what they are about to tell you is something you already know, but they are still going to tell you again anyway, whether you like it or not. Why?

An old colleague who has obviously had quite a few drinks meets you in a crowded dance, stage show or night club when the music is thumping, and proceeds to attempt some important discussion about business. This usually means that he has to get very close to shout into your ears and literally try to suffocate you with his alcohol breath. Why?

Then there are those beauty-conscious women who shave off their entire eyebrows just so they can use a pencil to draw it back. Why?

dis sweet me

And brothers, why do our women choose to have discussions with us that require serious intellectual input, in the middle of a sexual encounter? They will pause in the middle of the sweating and grunting to ask you things like "how do you really feel about me?" or "will you still love me tomorrow?" Why?

People go to the beach and head straight to the water because they presumably don't mind getting wet. They wear outfits specially designed to be worn in water, but as soon as it starts to rain, they rush to find shelter. Why? And those ladies who select a very skimpy two-piece bathing suit but wear it under a towel for the entire day on the beach. Why?

And finally, do you realise that the one person in the House of Representatives who is not required to speak is the person who is officially called the speaker? Why?

Some folks may find them trivial, but these are questions on which I ponder occasionally. If there is no one else in the world pondering these issues, I can only ask one very vital and important question of "di whole a unnu". Why?

I DONT LOVE SEX!!!!! :(

April 28, 2008
Started By jamaicandude84 Comments

I am 29 with two young children. After my second child, I have found that sex does not interest me.

When my husband asks for sex, I have all kinds of excuses to give to him. We have tried all sort of stuff to help me, but have no luck (foreplay did not work), so my husband left me.

All weekend long

I have been seeing someone and I still do not like to give him any and when I do, I think of all sorts of thing in my mind so I would not think about what is happening at the time. He thinks we should have sex all weekend and one time during the week since we are both working people, but I tell him that he is crazy.

When I tell older people how sex makes me feel and how nasty I think it is, they think something is wrong with me.

I even went as far as saying that when I get to 35 years old I will never have sex again and Pastor, I am serious. I have never been rape or molested.

Pastor, please tell me what you think. Do you think that I am crazy?

T.C. Florida, USA

Dear T. C.,

It is so unfortunate that you think that sex is nasty. God created sex. It is not the sex that is nasty, it is the way one goes about it. It may be nasty to you because you are just having raw sex. You have never made love.

That is what is missing in your life. You never loved your husband. If you had loved him there would have been no cause for him to ask you for sex. Lots of men and women have sex, but there is no love in it. But when people love each other and make love, they experience ecstasy.

KC Jockey stars in new Jamaican movie
14 Apr 2008 | by Contributed Article

Producer, songwriter, artiste and actor KC Jockey continues to make a name for himself in both the music and film industries. He is currently one of the stars in the soon to be released Jamaican movie What Goes Around (from the producers of Bashment) as well as celebrating the success of his hot new single Runway Bounce, which is currently number 9 on the Yacast France Charts (Frances version of the American Billboard Charts).

KC_Jockey.jpgRunway Bounce entered two of the France Charts Yacast   number 55 on the General Charts, moving to number 32 after 2 weeks, and the Yacast Top 40 R&B Charts at number 15 and after two weeks it is now positioned at number 9, etching out several international artistes like Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Timbaland and Rihanna. Runway Bounce also hit the No. 1 position on Lady Diamonds Official UK Reggae Charts as well as other major record pool charts across the USA.

As a result of KCs two hit singles, Talk Of The Town and Runway Bounce, numerous USA commercial and college radio stations have been requesting special guest appearances across the Mid West and South West. Currently, KC and his Sweet Sadies Production team are finalising his first major three-week southwest USA Radio promotions tour, commencing at the end of April.

Enjoying his continued success, KC Jockey was the special guest at the international brand Bvlgari Grand Store Opening a few weeks ago in South Florida.

This week he journeys again to South Florida to finish shooting the movie What Goes Around, playing the character Jimmy Winchester. Check out www.myspace.com/whatgoesaroundmovie

KC is known for the singles Want A Wife, Baby Mamma, Tic Toc, Diggy Diggy, Gold Digger, Need Love, Shake with Flippino R&B Singer Santalaina, Talk Of The Town and Party Spirit.

He has also played small roles in Denzel Washingtons American Gansgster, Will Smiths I Am Legend, BETs Where My Ladies At? and the children TV series Sesame Street.
I was a big fan of dancer Bogle, I would hang out with him on Lincoln Crescent, and do stories about his dances and slangs long before they became popular in the streets. He would always call me Mr. Mills even though he was several years my senior. He taught me the LOY, Log On, Pop It and the Zip It Up, and he told me about the log on slang long before it became popular. He kept me on the leading edge of local street culture, so I always knew what was popping in the streets.

Bogle.jpgI fell out of contact with him after he went overseas in the weeks following Willy Haggarts death in 2001, but in about 2004, I got a surprise call from him one day when I was at The Gleaner that he wanted to see me because he had a new dance to buss called 'The Wave', and a new tune.

I was covering news at the time, but I still found the time to go see him, and I was not disappointed.  He told me that he was now deejaying and played the Weddy Time song on a stereo in a yard on Lincoln Crescent. The song would later become a hit. He also told me had adopted the unusual name of Mr. Wacky. But that was just Bogle for you.

When he was killed, I was overseas studying at university when I got the phone call at about 5 in the morning that the dancer had been killed. I was crestfallen. The call had come from photographer and former business partner Carlington Wilmot and in the days following Bogles death, I remember talking to lots of dancehall personalities, including fellow dancer Keiva, who was shaken up over his death.

As most people know, Bogle was shot dead by two men at about 2:35 am on January 20, 2005 when he stopped at a service station in Half-Way-Tree to purchase fuel. The men who were armed with handguns rode up on a grey Honda F4 motor bike and opened fire, hitting all five who were in the vehicle. One of those persons died afterwards.

On the night of the incident, it is understood that followers of Beenie Man had taken offence at the fact that Bogle had brought two fowls in a suitcase to the Weddy Weddy dance at Stone Love HQ. The fowls, especially a black one with a bead on it, was said to have represented Beenie Man. Some considered it disrespect and even vented anger at Bogle.

After Bogles death, a  premises at 12 Dillon Road belonging to John Hype's parents was torched in retaliation for Bogle's death, and Hypes passport was incinerated.

As rumours circulated linking Beenie Man and John Hype with Bogle's death and death threats were issued against the two and their camp, Shocking Vibes, issued statements dissociating the two from the murder and even offered an initial $1 million reward for information leading to the arrest of the murderers.

Beenie Man went on TV and tearfully denied being involved in Bogles death. His songwriter Don Mafia would later pen One Bag a Lie, a song that declared his innocence, and would later occupy the number one position on the charts.

Bogle has influenced the careers of several entertainers. He created the Bogle dance in the early 1990s inspiring top flight deejay Buju Banton to recorded a song called "Bogle Dance" which went to number one. He inspired Beenie Man to do World Dance, which had the memorable lines, ah one new dance weh Bogle find againRoses find a new stem.

Beenie Man would also use Bogles dances to make songs such as LOY and Row Like a Boat which had a shout-out to Bogle with the lines : "Seh Mr. Bogle have di brand new style/Come ketch di style, come get di style

He was also a major influence on breakout artistes such as Elephant Man who got one of his biggest hits with Willie Bounce which was named after Bogle's friend and Black Roses Crew member Willie Haggart, and of course, Elephant Mans breakthrough hit, Log On. He also established the careers of Voice Mail with the singles, Weddy Time, Weddy Time Again and the hit single "Wacky Dip" on the Jonkunoo riddim. Popular DJ Bounty Killer credits Bogle for making him want to dance.

Bogle also created the Urkle Dance, Sesame Street,  Pelper, LOY, Jerry Springer, Zip It Up, Hotti Hotti Bogle, World Dance, Pop Yuh Collar, Row di Boat, Out and Bad, Sweeper, Stuckie, Wave (Super Bowl) and many other popular dances. He also made a much ballyhooed appearance in the movie, Belly, which also starred Nas.

He was well on his way to becoming a bona fide recording star with his hit, All Dem Deh when he was killed.

Three years after his death, Bogles murder has not been solved. The streets say that the men who purportedly killed him have been killed already. Two years ago, the police made an arrest which was reportedly linked to Bogles murder, but nothing much has happened since then.

XNews spoke to Bogle's mother Dorothy Smith, affectionately called Mama May, a few days after his death. She said, "A Bogle buy [everything], up to mi panty fi mi. Mi leave everything to God and mi doan want nobody sorry fi mi. God is my revenge and no amount a money whey dem a put up naw bring back mi pickney. Same way people know di names a the two man, and since a dem friend and dem doan know nutten 'bout mi pickney death, dem fi just come clean and give up the man dem.

"When mi hear Beenie Man pon TV a talk 'bout a nuff people waan kill Bogle, him need fi talk who is dem nuff people deh. Bogle nuh nyammy nyammy. A mi cook him food still. A Tuesday (day before he was killed) mi cook beef and food fi him." Bogle lives on in all of us whenever we hit the dance floor and remix any of his dance moves to create some new dynamic swivel. Bogle lives on.

All dem deh, whey all dem did deh? Cause mi a straight weddy weddy, mi not a lean weddy weddy"

Bogle, we will always remember you.

MEXICO CITY A unique strain of swine flu is the suspected killer of dozens of people in Mexico, where authorities closed schools, museums, libraries and theaters in the capital on Friday to try to contain an outbreak that has spurred concerns of a global flu epidemic.

The worrisome new virus which c****ines genetic material from pigs, birds and humans in a way researchers have not seen before also sickened at least eight people in Texas and California, though there have been no deaths in the U.S.

"We are very, very concerned," World Health Organization spokesman Thomas Abraham said. "We have what appears to be a novel virus and it has spread from human to human ... It's all hands on deck at the moment."

ATLANTA - The hip-hop world is a less bling-bling place these days.

The music genre has been defined as much by diamond-encrusted watches and platinum chains as its gritty urban lyrics. But in the past couple of years, it has scaled down its flash, a trend insiders say has become more pronounced during the recent recession.

Make no mistake: The industry that made an urban household name out of New Yorks Jacob Jacob the Jeweler Arabo isnt entirely reversing course. (Case in point: Lil Waynes A Milli, one of last years biggest songs, which had the rapper bragging wildly about being a young millionaire.)

But the day of conspicuous consumption is gone, said Tamara Connor, an Atlanta-based stylist who has created looks for chart-topping rappers, including Lil Wayne.

Were still going to see some bling, but its just not going to be as much, Connor said. Instead of four diamond necklaces, it might just be a diamond bracelet - and its a piece the celebrity wears all the time. Theyre not changing their jewelry out everyday.

Photo shoots, for example, are being done with fewer of the specialized medallions considered a calling card for the likes of Rick Ross, whose chain with a likeness of his head - complete with black diamond beard - has an estimated value of $30,000.

Instead you might see a rapper in an off-the-shelf diamond cross or wearing lower-quality stones. You can save $3,000 a carat if you do non-ring-quality diamonds for studs (earrings), Connor said.

Ben Baller, head of Los Angeles-based jeweler I.F. & Co., said the shift is most pronounced among up-and-coming rappers, for whom a steady income is seeming like less of a sure thing. Rap sales have declined along with the rest of the music industry.

Before, a new artist might spend $25,000 of a $30,000 advance on a chain, according to Baller, who counts Fat Joe as a client.

Now they would rather try to spend $5,000 and $6,000, he said, adding, theyre willing to talk about options by using sapphires, using very, very low-quality gold.

Some people (are) even wanting to mix diamonds with cubics (cubic zirconia) so it would not be completely ungenuine.

Cost cutting is major for the industry in which the carat-weight of ones ring could carry more cache than record sales. Ostentatious fashion has been in hip-hops DNA since Slick Rick donned layers of opulent gold chains in the 80s.

But in recent years, rap kings such as Jay-Z and Diddy have displayed their swagger with looks that were more boardroom than bling, with button-down shirts and designer suits.

Though Young Jeezy may still sport a huge chain at times, flashy jewelry is not integral to his image

Hell wear a scarf and no jewelry, maybe a bracelet, with a baseball hat, a T-shirt and a pair of jeans thats not a lot of bling, said Connor, who has also styled the Georgia artist.

Rappers arent giving up glamour altogether, theyre just not wearing it 24-7. In the past, several chains were de rigueur for a grocery-store run, now theyre reserved for a show or nightclub, says Baller, who also is seeing more artists trading in old chains instead of buying new ones

Prime Minister Bruce Golding last night called on Jamaicans not to riot following the possible announcement of a gas tax today.

The prime minister, who was making an address to the country, was responding to rumours that disruptions are being planned in anticipation of Finance Minister Audley Shaw's presentation today. Golding pleaded with citizens to consider such actions carefully.

"What purpose would that serve? Would it close the Budget gap? No! Would it force us to restructure the budget by reducing the grants we give to our basic schools, or the provision of medical supplies to our hospitals, or by laying off thousands of public sector workers? Absolutely not," the prime minister declared.

tough times

Golding said increasing taxes was never an easy or pleasant task, but noted the country has been going through tough times as a result of the global financial meltdown.

"Let us not sacrifice the interests of the country on the altar of expediency of whatever kind or motivation. Let's not hand the country over to lawlessness and anarchy," he pleaded.

The prime minister said the security forces were on alert and prepared to respond to any situation in which public order is disturbed.

"But I appeal to all Jamaicans: Let that not become necessary. Let good sense prevail. Let us confront our challenges no matter how difficult they may be," he said.

Days after the implementation of a gas tax was announced by then Finance Minister Dr Omar Davies during his opening presentation in the 1999-2000 Budget Debate, Jamaicans took to the streets in protest. Four civilians were killed while four policemen were injured and a Jamaica Defence Force soldier shot during the two-day riot.

Just moments ago, Lawrence Summers, Director of the White House's National Economic Council, was caught dozing off during a meeting with credit card officials.

For the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is headed in the right direction, a sign that Barack Obama has used the first 100 days of his presidency to lift the publics mood and inspire hopes for a brighter future.

Intensely worried about their personal finances and medical expenses, Americans nonetheless appear realistic about the time Obama might need to turn things around, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll. It shows most Americans consider their new president to be a strong, ethical and empathetic leader who is working to change Washington.

Nobody knows how long the honeymoon will last, but Obama has clearly transformed the yes-we-can spirit of his candidacy into a tool of governance. His ability to inspire confidence Obamas second book is titled The Audacity of Hope has thus far buffered the president against the harsh political realities of two wars, a global economic meltdown and countless domestic challenges.

He presents a very positive outlook, said Cheryl Wetherington, 35, an independent voter who runs a chocolate shop in Gardner, Kan. Hes very well-spoken and very vocal about what direction should be taken.

But other AP-GfK findings could signal trouble for Obama as he approaches his 100th day in office, April 29:

_While there is evidence that people feel more optimistic about the economy, 65 percent said its difficult for them and their families to get ahead. More than one-third know of a family member who recently lost a job.

_More than 90 percent of Americans consider the economy an important issue, the highest ever in AP polling.

_Nearly 80 percent believe that the rising federal debt will hurt future generations, and Obama is getting mixed reviews at best for his handling of the issue.

And yet, the percentage of Americans saying the country is headed in the right direction rose to 48 percent, up from 40 percent in February. Forty-four percent say the nation is on the wrong track.

Not since January 2004, shortly after the capture of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, has an AP survey found more right direction than wrong direction respondents.

So far, Obama has defied the odds by producing a sustained trend toward optimism. It began with his election.

But he is aware that his political prospects are directly linked to such numbers. If at the end of his term the public is no more assured that Washington is competent and accountable and that the nation is at least on the right track, his re-election prospects will be doubtful.

I will be held accountable, Obama said a few weeks into his presidency. You know, Ive got four years. If I dont have this done in three years, then theres going to be a one-term proposition.

The AP-GfK poll suggests that 64 percent of the public approves of Obamas job performance, down just slightly from 67 percent in February. President George W. Bushs approval ratings hovered in the high 50s after his first 100 days in office.

But Obama also has become a somewhat polarizing figure, with just 24 percent of Republicans approving of his performance down from 33 percent in February. Obama campaigned on a promise just as Bush had to end the party-first mind-set that breeds gridlock in Washington.

Obama is not the first president who sought to tap the deep well of American optimism the never-say-die spirit that Americans like to see in themselves.

Even as he briefly closed the nations banks, Franklin Delano Roosevelt spoke in the first days of his presidency of the confidence and courage needed to fix the U.S. economy. Together we cannot fail, he declared.

When Obama came in, said D.T. Brown, 39, a Mount Vernon, Ill., radio show host who voted against Obama, it was just a breath of fresh air.

Others said their newfound optimism had nothing to do with Obama, but rather with an era of personal responsibility they believe has come with the economic meltdown.

I think people are beginning to turn in that direction and realize that theres not always going to be somebody to catch them when things fall down, said Dwight Hageman, 66, a retired welder from Newberg, Ore., who voted against Obama.

The AP-GfK Poll was conducted April 16-20 by GfK Roper Public Affairs and Media. It involved telephone interviews on landline and cell phones with 1,000 adults nationwide. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

Allhiphop Reports:

To accompany his new album Relapse, Eminem has created a unique viral website titled Popsomp Hills, a fictional rehabilitation clinic which makes patients worse after treatment.

At www.PopsompHills.com, visitors are greeted by a quote from Ralph Nader on addiction treatment and links to a consultation number and email address.

Once digging deeper, unsuspecting readers will quickly discover the sites true intent.

The Learn More portion of the page leads to a Wikipedia link for Hell, and the Terms and Conditions portion bluntly lays clear their intentions.

Thank you for caring. Unfortunately, it will never be enough to save you, it ominously states. We are not fair people. We make mistakes under the influence just like you did in order to get you here. Life is too short, party harder than ever. We can help. Pain is not only tolerated- in fact it's encouraged.

The Privacy Policy continues the entertainment, and satirizes any idea of true privacy in todays web-based society.

Nothing is private in this world. Let's not kid each other here, the clinic deadpans. We dont trust you. We dont even trust ourselves. We tell our staff all of your secrets. All confidential information provided to us during the course of your treatment will ultimately be used against you.

The website/program founder is Dr. Balzac, whose rehabilitation slogan is humanity is not kind. Impassionate is new passion.

The overall theme ties into Relapses recurrent pill addiction motif, as seen in Eminems recently released album cover art, and an official picture on www.eminem.com showing the Detroit emcee checking into Popsomp Hills.

TMZ reports:

Rihanna lost more than her innocence the night she was allegedly beat up by Chris Brown -- she's also out $1.4 million in jewelry.

RiRi is asking the cops to hand back a pair of earrings and three rings the cops logged as evidence on the night in question. And get this -- the jewelry isn't even hers. According to docs, the bling belonged to four companies which loaned it to her for the pre-Grammy party she attended with Brown that night.

Rihanna's attorney, Donald Etra, claims he asked for the jewelry back earlier this month and submitted written requests on April 7 and April 17. Etra also claims that Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, has no problem with the jewelry being released.

The earrings are described as yellow metal hoop earrings with white stones. The first ring is a yellow metal ring with white stones and green stones. The second and third rings are described as being yellow metal rings with white stones.

Brown faces a felony assault charge and a charge of making criminal threats.

Beenie to be a granddad - 17-y-o daughter pregnant - Another deejay said to be the father

STARRIGHT_1_PRIU6eAffaiAM.jpg

It appears that Moses 'Beenie Man' Davis is soon to be a grandfather. The deejay's daughter, who turned 17 last week, is rumoured to be pregnant for popular deejay Aidonia.

Aidonia has, however, denied that he is the father.

When contacted, Aidonia's manager and brother, Lav said, "He is not the babyfather. She is only 16-year-old, so why would Aidonia be involved with somebody that young? Furthermore, we are family with Beenie Man, nothing more. We are close family with Beenie Man, so I don't know where people are getting this from."

Lav said other persons, including members of the media, had been calling the deejay for confirmation of the rumours. He said the rumour would not affect Aidonia's career.

No effects

"It won't affect his career in any way. As I said, Beenie is like family. Aidonia has been going through a lot of things over the years, so this is just one more thing that he will have to get over," he said.

Rumours quietly began circulating that Beenie's daughter was pregnant for the popular artiste last week.

When THE STAR spoke to a source close to Beenie Man, he confirmed that the deejay's daughter was expecting (for a well-known deejay). The source said, "She's pregnant and she's overseas in Florida staying with a relative."

Beenie Man, who is currently in New Jersey, USA, for a show, was unavailable for comment up to press time.

Shocked

However, according to the source, 'The Doctor' was shocked to discover the news of his child's pregnancy but has since adjusted to the situation. The source explained that Beenie has been on tour back to back and it was when he recently came off tour that he heard that his daughter was pregnant.

"As a father, to know your 17-year-old is pregnant, worse when yuh have good ambitions for her of going to college, it's not something you take so easy, but it's a given part of life ... . He was shocked," the source said.

When asked if Beenie was going to support his daughter, the source commented: "Beenie is gonna be supportive. He just has to live with it and support her all the way, let her know that this is not the end of her life and she's gonna continue school."

According to the source, he didn't believe this would affect Beenie's career in any way.

hi5 page

Photos posted on the daughter's hi5 page also confirmed the pregnancy. The daughter, whose photos were proudly displayed on the page in a folder titled 'Sexy Mother', is seen lying on a bed, her protruding stomach very visible. There is also a photo of the ultra-sound posted on the page. The ultrasound bears her name, as well as the name of the doctor who performed the procedure, and the date it was done, September 2. The image of the foetus is clearly defined.

It's heating up. Governor Palin has point-blank denied that Levi ever lived with the Palins. The Palins are saying he merely "stayed there" for two months. Levi and his sister Mercede have now called the Palins liars, and suggest that they are being called "white trash." This was after Palin's spokesperson trashed the teenaged father of her grandson thus:

"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship," says the statement from the Palin family rep, Meghan Stapleton. "Bristol's focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence," the statement continues. "It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child."

The statement ends, saying, "Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

boosie-news.jpg

Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie was arrested yesterday (April 22) in connection to an alleged fight that occurred in his house earlier this month.

Local Baton Rouge news network WAFB reports that the Trill Entertainment artist is being accused of aggravated second-degree battery after a man was sent to the hospital for allegedly stealing one of his necklaces. Authorities claim a fight broke out in Boosies house on April 12 over the possible theft. The identity of the hospitalized victim has not been released.

This is the latest arrest for Boosie. Just last October he was picked up on drug and weapons charges. L.B. also allegedly resisted arrest during the incident, attempting to drive off when authorities tried to collar him.

It has been quite a while since I got the opportunity to publish an article, because of the overwhelming workload that I carry at the end and beginning of my Project years. This situation has not changed, but today, I am compelled to write and publish this article because of recent extraordinary events in Jamaica, which if not documented and assessed by independent media, many of the issues will not be articulated for sensible discussion. This article is therefore aimed at giving readers an opportunity to review the facts that others are [not] discussing.

On Monday, April 20, 2009, I was awakened early in the morning by news that a 737 chartered Canjet Airplane was hijacked by 20 years old Jamaican, Stephen Fray of Albion in Montego Bay, St. James. This incident comes in the wake of the fact that crime and violence and gang-related criminal activities are rising in Montego Bay, as well as the UN Conference on Racism (Geneva) which the Jamaican Prime Minister did not make himself available for, while his compatriots from Canada (Stephen Harper who was in Jamaica at the time of the hijacking), United States of America, Australia, and Israel boycotted the Conference. While the Conference was underway, we see PM Bruce Golding rushing to the tarmac in Montego Bay to rescue the 159-174 passengers and 8 crew of the Canadian chartered flight. Although most Jamaicans are descendants of the African people who suffered (and still are) from the negative effects of racism, we didnt even know of the UN Conference, further more to seriously consider its importance to usWe were effectively distracted by the insanity of a youth, who they say was on the rebound from a failed relationship.

The most amazing thing about the hijacking of the 737 in Jamaica is that it gives us an opportunity to examine our personal biases and national prejudices. I must say that there is a tendency in Jamaica to vilify the poor Jamaican youth of African decentHe is seen by the average Jamaican as the person to fear and target for prison. Whenever we are awakened by the news of crime and violence, no matter where it occurs in our country, the first picture that we paint of the perpetrator is that of an African Jamaican youth from the inner-city. This class/ race/color prejudice in relation to the perception of crime exonerates only a small fraction of our country from crimesIt is as if they are not fit for our prisons.

Interestingly, Stephen Fray is an affluent Jamaican of Indian decent, who it would seem had no socioeconomic difficulties that would predispose him to a life of crime. Every Jamaican is thus left in shock, as he does not fit the traditional profile of the Jamaican criminal. As a result, key pieces of information are being denied and the media is trying to convince us that he is mad. This story of insanity is not new to meAs a child living in rural Jamaica (Hanover to be exact) it was not uncommon for mothers to take their accused children, who had cases in court, to the obeah man, psychologist, or doctor to declare insanity so that they could get off without doing time in prison. This might seem like a joke, but it worked. Now, in this situation of the hijacked plane, the first persons who came rushing to the crime scene with the news of Stephen Frays insanity were his parents, who according to Go-Jamaica are medical doctors. He therefore has access to professionals who can simply confirm his so called insanity. In the inner-city most of the children do not have parents who are professionals, furthermore medical doctors. Inner-city youth are not able to mobilize their entire family to stop them while they are carrying out acts of criminality, as was the case of Fray. And, they certainly have a tendency to implodedirectly affecting those within their community, rather than foreigners.

Many Jamaicans may not see the value of a class/race/color analysis of the Stephen Fray hijacking, but the issue is central, because they explain Frays access to: the airport, a legal firearm, an excuse for his crime, strong family support while perpetuating the crime, and medias attempt to excuse his crime. Stephen Fray is a criminal, guilty of terrorism against and  psychological trauma of at least 167 persons. Although no one was physically injured, that does not make his crime less criminal. Like all inner-city youth who have had to face up to their crime by doing time, I believe that Stephen Fray must be given the same judgmentHe can certainly receive a psychiatrist while at Gun Court, Spanish Town or the General Penitentiary. Like Lee Malvo, who was 17 years at the time of his crime spree in the US, Stephen Fray must face the consequences of his actions. If Lee was not allowed to tarnish the Jamaican name and still get our support, why are we succumbing to the Fray of things? We must surrender our preconditioned prejudices for friendship, class, race and color, and let justice be done.

An examination of Stephen Frays Facebook profile provided important information into the mind of the hijacker. His profile updates mentioned the need for money and an AK rifle. He also formed a group, Pill, which he described as f**kas Dead and posted Kill dem all an done in the groups Recent News. Fray received support from 26 friends, the majority of whom belong to the Jamaican network, in this group. He created a number of other groups on Facebook including one that has well over 200 members to whom he promotes Riko (his pseudonym) clothing and another, which promotes his brothers electronics and furniture business in Montego Bay. He recently started a Myspace profile to promote Riko clothing. He has also been actively promoting events to group members, even as recently as April 11, 2009. On his profile he also listed a young woman from Canada (who later deleted her relationship status to him) as his girlfriend and posted several photographs of himself in the company of friends.

If this is the mannerism of a mad man, then I dont want to see a sane one. Would our inner-city and poor youth be described as insane under the same circumstances? Certainly not, from my experience  no one would care to hear the excusesA crime is a crime, we are trained to believe; lock them up and throw away the key. This sentiment was so clearly reiterated in the Parliament proceedings to reinstate hangingI am sure, we didnt think that an affluent Jamaican could be at the front of the line to the hangmans noosewell he certainly wont be there now that PM Golding rushed into the Fray of things to save Stephen.

The UN Conference on Racism would have given Jamaica the opportunity to examine the socioeconomic remnants of slavery, which have contributed to our current state of poverty and underdevelopment, leading to contemporary challenges such as crime and violence. We missed that opportunity, and in its stead we have decided to sit silently and allow the media and other national stakeholders to vilify the average Jamaican youth. This is an opportunity for us to recognize and articulate loudly that criminal behavior is not exclusive to poor African-Jamaican communities, but as seen with Stephen Fray, the Jamaican of high class, color, and race are also capable and culpable. We dont psychoanalyze inner-city youth when they commit crimes, but we come armed with an excuse for the affluent. It is always something or somebody else that made them do it, and they are above the law and our prisons, so they get away with it. The inner-city youth, on the other hand, cannot escape his crimeit follows him even if he hides from it. He maybe shot for being on the street too late, living in the inner-city, and even huckstering (hustling) to make a living. For him there are no negotiators, no family, and certainly no Prime Minister or Cabinet to save his life.

Love him or hate him, believe it or not Moses Beenie Man Davis is the real dancehall artiste who is occurring and there is just no stopping this artiste who can now be declared and titled the DJ Of The Decade. For the past 11 years he has been copping awards for the coveted title DJ Of The Year, not without the questioning and disgruntlement of some detractors in the business, who will under hushed breaths also attest to the fact that he certainly knows how to keep himself in the picture, churning out songs that keep dancehall vibrant and alive. After recently picking up three awards at the Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME) Awards, in the categories of DJ Of The Year, Collaboration of the Year and Song Of The Year, Beenie Man continues to add more trophies to music cabinet.64F_beenie.jpg On Wednesday, February 13, at the IRIE FM Music Awards (IFMA) he walked away with the trophies for the Best Dressed Male, DJ of The Year and Listeners Choice Artiste of the Year. Dogged with several unfortunate incidents in 2007, Beenie Man prevailed though them all, continued to give quality performances at home and abroad, while at the same time recording several singles that entered the charts in top positions on local and international charts. The artiste, who is very pleased with his accomplishment, told Xtratainment that despite what the entire player haters are doing to bring him down, he will continue deejay and be the number one deejay for many more years to come. A just good over evil and if yuh work hard, doan badmind people and love what yuh do, nothing cyaan stop yuh inna life. As the poem say, the heights of great men reached an kept were not attained by sudden flight. Mi nuh teck nuh break, mi just continue fi meck music, Beenie Man said.

What kind of names is the Dominican Republic dealing with? Names like, "Dear Pineapple", "Iloveyou Lover" and the car brand "Mazda" - and no, we're not joking.

People have obviously lost control - or their minds - and a judge with the Central Electoral Commission is trying to put some stability back where it belongs, arguing that there is no way to determine the person's gender with such a name, let alone the fact that the names are confusing.

According to the AP, the Commission will tackle this possible name ban sometime this year.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Usually, it's an empty threat: "If you kids don't stop fighting, I'm going to stop this car right now and leave you here!" But a mother from an upper-crust New York suburb went through with it, ordering her battling 10- and 12-year-old daughters out of her car in White Plains' business district and driving off, police said Tuesday.

A judge on Wednesday modified a temporary order of protection against 45-year-old Madlyn Primoff and her two daughters. Her lawyer, Vincent Briccetti, said Primoff is no longer barred from living or talking with her children.

Primoff, a partner in a Manhattan law firm, pleaded not guilty to a charge of endangering a child on Monday.

Briccetti would not comment on details of the case. But he said, "Madlyn is a great mother connected with a great family, and she is grateful for the outpouring of support from friends and family."

There wasn't much support from strangers, however. Mothers interviewed near the scene said they couldn't imagine doing what Primoff did, though some understood the urge.

Iris Gorodess, 49, of Mahopac, who has four children ranging from 10 to 19 years old, said she sympathized with Primoff's actions, right up to the point where she pulled away.

"I used to pull over and make the kids change seats. Also, I make sure the kids have their iPods and their games. And I have a minivan, so they're not up my neck all the time.

"But I can't see pulling away. That has to be too scary for the children."

'Good Samaritan' finds one girl
White Plains police said Primoff ordered the arguing girls out of the car Sunday evening as they were driving home. She left them at Post Road and South Broadway, an area of shops and offices 3 miles from their home, then drove off, the police report said.

The report does not say whether the girls had cell phones.

Police would not say if Primoff ever returned to look for the girls, but they said, without explaining how, that the 12-year-old eventually caught up with the mother. The 10-year-old was found by a "Good Samaritan" on the street, upset and emotional about losing her mother, police said.

The girl gave police her mother's name and their address in well-to-do Scarsdale, and they asked Scarsdale police to check Primoff's $2 million house. Shortly afterward, Primoff called Scarsdale police from home to say the 10-year-old was missing, said Scarsdale Detective Lt. Bryant Clark
