In this weekly Mus' Buss Caan Buss song review feature, three musical minds will analyse each song and will grade it on vocal ability, lyrics, musical arrangement and appeal. Songs that make the grade will be dubbed 'Mus' Buss', while songs that flop will be dumped in the 'Caan Buss' bin.

King Kong: Is a sigh of relief to see him not bussing shots in a song, don't know about otherwise.

Witch: For real, this girl tune is better for him than the buss shot thing, it just don't suit him. This song just catchy, I don't know if is the riddim or what, but is something yuh just a nod to.

King Kong: Chimney a go hard. Di production pon dis, especially the supporting vocals in the background and the lyrics are crafty.

Queen: I like di chorus, it's very catchy, it's very explicit but catchy. It has the feel of the Mavado song Never Believe Yuh. It slow, yuh can see a lot of people grinding to di song and I do mean grinding.

King Kong: I like how he varies his delivery, he sings part and him deejay part like how Kartel delivers some of his songs. However, the chorus fi a girl tune, which is sumting girls can dance to, I don't see people dancing to this as the chorus is too slow.

Witch: Yeah, Einstein doesn't usually sing, so the change is good and breathes new life into his style.

Queen: The riddim kinda sound like something that has been done already, but slightly varied. It woulda been better if it was something different.

King Kong: Is this a sign of musical maturity for Einstein?

Queen: A him best song ever.

King Kong: Dunno if its his work or dat of di producers, he's showing some innovation in di delivery.

Witch: I think di riddim sounds good, it's catchy and it doesn't remind me 'bout another riddim per se as Queen seh. Undoubtedly, is one of Einstein better songs and one dat can play on radio and get a forward in di dancehall if dem give it a chance. Who knew Einstein had these lyrics in him?

Queen: Mus' say I agree; I never knew he was capable of dis, I'm proud of dis step and hope he can keep it up. Can we buss it now?

King Kong: A small buss, it nah go buss big radio-wise. People have to get accustomed to Einstein doing girl tunes. Bet yuh if it was Mavado do it wid his melody it woulda buss, but seeing dat its Einstein it might tek a while for people to mek a connection.

Witch: I slightly disagree: the clean version can play on radio and it strike me as sumting radio would buss rather than hard-core dancehall people. Di song itself nuh bad and it have buss potential if people woulda play it.

Queen: Well mi woulda give it a buss inna di dancehall, a mean I can see people vibing to it. As for radio, if it tek off in di dancehall as I expect I think it will get a buss on radio as well but dats the extent of di buss.

G-Unit's Lloyd Banks has been at odds with Rick Ross since the Miami MC And now that Ross has been hinting at battling Eminem, Banks says that Ross has gone too far.

"As far as calling out Eminem, c'mon man. That's just gonna make me spank on you even harder," Banks said Thursday (April 30), before revealing that he has another diss record coming for Ross, who he slammed with his recent "Officer Down" track.

"I got 'Officer Down, Part II' coming. He'll have to deal with that," Banks added.

To backtrack, on Thursday Rick Ross released a video from St. Maarten, where he is vacationing after his Deeper Than Rap LP debuted at #1 on the Billboard albums chart this week. He then turned his attention to the G-Unit/ Shady camp, who recently put out a video by Banks and DJ Whoo Kid promoting their new 4-30-09: Happy Birthday, Vol. 4 mixtape. In it, Whoo Kid admonished Ross for calling the Unit "monkeys."

"You know now they saying 'monkey' could be [a] black-on-black racial [situation]," Ross says to his friend Gunplay in the video.

"Cut it out, that's racial. You can't call other black people monkeys," Whoo Kid said.

In Thursday's video, Ross took the slur to Eminem.

"The only way I could fix that Eminem you're a monkey," Ross said in his video. "He's really a honky [pronounced to rhyme with 'monkey'], but that's racial. You n---as monkeys. The world knows you're monkeys."

Banks didn't take kindly to the Em insults.

"As far as calling out Eminem, you're not in the top 10 lyricists nowhere," Banks said. "So just sit down, man. We seen what Em can do. Em's in a whole 'nother lane. How do you go from praising somebody in one interview to calling him a 'monkey' in the next? He's been in out of pocket too many times. We'll see where his future goes. It doesn't look too bright, if you ask me."

Banks also said that Ross has nothing to be proud of as far as Deeper Than Rap's first-week sales go.

"First of all, his first week [sales] was 150 thousand and change," Banks said. "That was with two or three months of promotion, beefing with the most popular rapper there is right now outside of Eminem. There is no bigger promotion than that.

"He reminds me of 12 or 13 year old," Banks added. "You know he's always lying. He said he spoke to [G-Unit employee] Nelson [allegedly about offering Ross money to end the beef], and it already was put out there you didn't speak to him. Then you say, 'I took the [prison-guard] position because my boss asked' him to. They didn't need you to go to the penitentiary to make a buck. C'mon."

Despite his response to Ross, Banks was actually in a great mood: It's his 27th birthday, he just released the Happy Birthday mixtape, and "Officer Down" has been a stronger seller on iTunes.

"If [Ross] responds, it benefits me," Banks said. "It goes straight to iTunes. I found a way to make money off a beef."

With his highly anticipated Relapse album less than a month away, Detroit superstar Eminem is continuing to open up about his feelings on todays top stars and the direction of Hip-Hop culture.

For the past year, Lil Wayne has pleaded in the media for Eminem to end his sabbatical with a all-star, joint collaboration.

In a recent interview on Shade 45, Eminem expressed his willingness to make the song a reality despite Waynes tenuous relationship with his Shady/Aftermath superstar 50 Cent.

I would. There hasnt necessarily been a time for me to really get out there and do collaborations lately because Ive been so locked down in the studio, Eminem explained. Im open for whatever. There are a lot of artists in the game that I respect, especially right now.

In gauging Hip-Hops health in 2009, the Detroit emcee argued that the culture is showing signs of life and growth after being mired in years of mediocrity.

For awhile it seemed that Hip-Hop was not really in a good place, Eminem stated. For a good three to four years it just seemed that all anybody really cared about was having a dope beat [and] a good hook. There was no substance. It seems to be coming back with artists like Lil Wayne and T.I. I like Kanye a lot, too. And especially because Im back.

Nani: Subbed at half-time and becoming a United scapegoat.

Nani, who has been substituted on each of the six times he has started a Premier League game for United this season, said: "I was not satisfied about my role against Tottenham but I accept the orders of the coach by the substitution at half-time.

"The team changed in many ways during the second half but I wasn't responsible for the first 45 minutes. I finished the match unhappy though I am still waiting to demonstrate what I can do.

Coach Guus Hiddink's pre-match prediction that the first leg of this semi-final tie would be saturated in goals proved incorrect as Chelsea put in a highly competent defensive shift.

Hiddink's tactic of giving holding roles to both John Obi Mikel and Michael Ballack worked superbly and Lionel Messi was marked out of the contest by Jose Bosingwa.

Barca's strike force of Samuel Eto'o, Messi and Thierry Henry have scored 90 goals between them in all competitions so far this season.

But Henry proved to be Barca's real danger man when he twice forced Petr Cech into important saves in the opening half.

However, to a man, Chelsea were defiant and disciplined with full-backs Branislav Ivanovic and Bosingwa faultless while John Terry and Alex were solid as a rock.

Hiddink will be more than pleased with the night's work and Chelsea should have enough in their artillery to go on and finish the job in the return match next week.

The atmosphere in the stadium was electric with the Nou Camp faithful in full voice.

The hosts almost grabbed an early lead when a free-kick from the left reached Samuel Eto'o at the far post after Cech misread the flight of the ball. However, the Cameroon striker's far-post header flashed across the face of the goal with Rafael Marquez unable to connect.

Cech was in trouble again in the 11th minute when he surprisingly opted to punch clear a cross by Eric Abidal.

Luckily for the Czech, none of the Barcelona forwards were quick enough to capitalise on his error.

But Barcelona soon gained control of the midfield and when Messi slipped Daniel Alves clear, the full-back's dangerous low cross was cleared decisively by Alex.

Moments later, Eto'o tried his luck from 20 yards but his low drive was more than a little wayward and Cech was untroubled by his effort.

Barcelona pegged Chelsea back with a series of corners as the half-hour approached.

Chelsea's defence repelled the danger every time but the Blues were forced to camp in their own half as Barcelona looked for an opening.

In the 28th minute Xavi almost broke the deadlock with a long-range drive that flashed past Cech's right-hand upright.

Moments later Ballack was booked for a foul on Henry but the Barca player certainly made the most of it as he rolled on the ground as though he had been shot.

In the 31st minute though Henry was fit enough to unleash an angled drive that Cech gathered at the near post.

Cech pulled out another outstanding save to deny Henry again in the 34th minute as Barcelona continued to test Chelsea's defensive resolve at every opportunity.

Florent Malouda appeared to catch Alves in an off-the-ball incident and moments later the pair were involved in another spat which German referee Wolfgang Stark again chose to ignore.

But Chelsea should have been ahead when a dreadful back pass by Marquez put Didier Drogba clear in the 38th minute but the Ivorian's shot was twice saved superbly by Barca goalkeeper Victor Valdes.

Barcelona suffered a major blow in the 50th minute when Marquez went down cl**tching the back of his knee and was carried off with possible ligament damage. He was immediately replaced by Carles Puyol.

But the Catalans won a corner in the 58th minute from which Messi volleyed high over the crossbar from 20 yards.

But Chelsea's defending had been admirable from the kick-off and Hiddink's side showed no sign of capitulating.

Whenever the home side did break through they found Cech in their way. In the 61st minute he proved his worth yet again when he blocked a ferocious angled drive from Alves.

In the 67th minute the former Sevilla star sent a free-kick just over the crossbar and Cech denied Eto'o with a fabulous save when the Barca striker got free of Alex for the first time in the game in the 69th minute.

Frank Lampard was replaced by Juliano Belletti in the 71st minute as Chelsea looked to protect the stalemate.

Puyol was booked for a foul on Michael Essien in the 75th minute and the card rules him out of the return leg at Stamford Bridge.

But Barcelona substitute Bojan Krkic could have won the first leg for his side but he somehow headed a cross from Alves over the bar from point-blank range, and there was still time for fellow sub Alexander Hleb to be denied by another great save from Cech in stoppage time.

It was their last chance and it could have costly repercussions for Pep Guardiola and his side at Stamford Bridge next week

Executives of Columbus Communications, the regional fixed-line telephone, Internet and cable television business in which Jamaican billionaire Michael Lee Chin is a minority partner, are adamant that the company is not up for sale.

And regional telecoms carrier LIME has moved to douse speculation that surfaced at the weekend that the Cable and Wireless Caribbean operation had joined the list of bidders interested in the Barbados-based business.

At least one local electronic media house reported recently that America Movil, the Mexico-based parent company of Claro, the mobile phone network that recently entered the Jamaican market, had acquired the fibre-optic cable business for approximately US$260 million. The report was apparently based on similar reports out of Mexico.

A Wednesday Business story carried earlier this month also alluded to reports of Claro's interest in the Columbus regional infrastructural footprint but, in the absence of any confirmation, reported no such deal.

Columbus operates in Jamaica as Flow.

Not being sold

"Flow is not being sold and I certainly would be aware of it," was the flat denial from Flow Jamaica's president and chief operating officer, Michelle English.

"No discussion was held with anyone, Flow is not for sale."

The comment from LIME is as unequivocal.

"Nothing of the sort, something so sensitive I would be aware of," LIME's vice-president of corporate communications, Errol Miller, told Wednesday Business this week.

Lee Chin's stake

Lee Chin has pledged his stake in Columbus, along with other assets, as collateral for a US$170 million debt to bond holders. At a meeting in Kingston earlier this month with Jamaican investors in the AIC Barbados bond issue, Lee Chin said steps were being taken to monetise AIC Barbados' stake in Columbus to pay off the debt.

AIC Barbados has put the value of its holding in Columbus at around US$300 million. It is unclear whether this includes investments held by AIC's Caribbean Bond Fund, led by Lee Chin, or if the bond fund could be the entity looking to purchase the billionaire's Columbus shares held by his Portland Holdings.

AIC's Caribbean private equity fund is jointly financed by entities such as the US government's Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the European InvestmentBank, the Export Development Corporation of Canada, the Caribbean Development Bank and the pension fund of the US telecoms giant, Verizon.

AIC's Caribbean point man, Robert Almeida, head of AIC Global Holdings, has pointed out that Lee Chin's investments, and those of the Caribbean Fund, are managed separately and are not one and the same.

In 2004 Chin teamed up with investor, John Risley to form the Brendan Paddick-run Columbus, whose core operating business is providing cable-television services, high-speed Internet access, digital telephone and internet-infrastructure services (retail) and the development of an undersea fibre-optic cable network, as well as the sale and lease of the telecom capacity provided by the network. Risley is the chairman and majority stakeholder of Columbus.

"As far as we know, Michael Lee Chin is a minority shareholder in Columbus Communications and is entitled to do what he wants with his shares. Flow is a strong company that is growing every day and it continues to provide broadband and digital services to its growing customer base." Flow Jamaica's English added.

Strong impact from Flow

Flow has already made a strong impact on the local telecommunications industry, its integrated triple play of services - digital cable TV, digital landline and high-speed Internet - placing Jamaica as a regional industry leader for data connectivity and innovative digital products.

In the meantime, apparently acting on reports about the possible sale of Columbus, local cable operators, Amalgamated Cable System (JACS), TLM Communications and Verge Limited last week sought and was granted an Order by the Supreme Court, barring Columbus Communications and its affiliate, Columbus Acquisitions Inc, from disposing of any of its assets.

The 14-day injunction was granted last Friday.

Flow acquired the assets of several small cable operators as it seeks to consolidate and corner a larger share of the Jamaican market.

The applicants for the Order contend that a dispute over outstanding payment of some US$6.5 million to them has not been settled despite Flow's word that it has fulfilled its obligations under the deals.

According the the companies, FLOW has not provided accurate revenue figures earned from the cable, Internet and telephone assets it acquired from them in 2007.

Attempts at fiery street protests fizzled yesterday as quick action by members of the security forces, the fire brigade and the National Solid Waste Management Authority kept roads clear and forced demonstrators into hiding.

The Gleaner received the first reports of protests shortly after six yesterday morning when burning debris was seen on Mandela Highway in the vicinity of Central Village, affecting motorists heading towards the Corporate Area.

No protesters were seen and the security forces were quick to extinguish the blaze and clear the roadway.

Hours later, another blockade was established on the other side of the Mandela Highway, affecting motorists heading towards Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Roadblocks quickly cleared

As police and military teams attempted to clear that blockade, other members of the security forces rushed to Washington Boulevard where roadblocks had been established.

These were quickly cleared and the security forces turned their attention to the nearby Molynes Road where an old car had been set on fire and several blockades erected.

It did not take the security teams long to clear that road, even though they had to wait for firefighters to put out a blaze metres from a derelict building which had been looted and destroyed during the 1999 gas riots.

The adjoining West Main Drive was also blocked in several areas, while the police reported that roads were also temporarily blocked in sections of South East St Andrew, Portmore and St Johns Road, St Catherine, and Three Miles in St Andrew.

On West Main Drive in Maverley, residents stood quietly as police cleared the roadblocks with no one claiming responsibility.

Placing blame

However, councillor for the area, Audley Gordon, was adamant about who were behind the protest.

"A handful of criminals from a PNP (People's National Party) stronghold are to blame," claimed Gordon, who represents the Jamaica Labour Party in the Hughenden division in North West St Andrew. Later, however, PNP President Portia Simpson Miller stressed, while speaking with The Gleaner, that the party had nothing to do with the street protests.

"We were not surprised by it. We heard from Sunday that something was being organised. To be honest, we were expecting it yesterday morning but as you can see the police are out, the soldiers are out and the leadership of the constituency is out and there is not much, or no support from the residents," Gordon added.

The councillor's claim that criminals were behind the protests was given credence when an obviously frightened motorist showed The Gleaner her broken windshield which had been hit by thugs who stole her jewellery and cellular phone.

The police later reported that seven persons had been taken into custody in connection with the roadblocks. At least six of those persons were charged for breaches of the Anti-Litter Act.

USAIN BOLT INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT

Usain Bolt has crached near the Vineyard Toll booth on Highway 2000. Mr Bolt along with his two female companions were rushed to the Spanish Town hospital were they are being treated.

Mr. Bolt is up and walking around and is being held for further observation, we cannot say the same for his BMW that he was driving. The polices speculates that speeding along with the wet roads were the cause of the accident.

ALLEGED GOAT THIEF CHOPPED TO DEATH

A man who was accused of stealing a goat in Steer Town, St Ann, was chopped to death by an angry mob in the community on Monday.

The dead man, whose identity has not been ascertained, is believed to be between 18 and 22 years old. He is of slim build, fair complexion and about 183 centimetres tall.

Reports are that about 4:30 p.m., the police were summoned to Steer Town where an alleged goat thief was being mobbed by residents. Lawmen who arrived in the area found the man in bushes suffering from multiple chop wounds. He was taken to the St Ann's Bay Hospital where he died.

The St Ann's Bay police are investigating.

POLICE INVESTIGATE MAN'S DEATH

The May Pen police in Clarendon have commenced a probe into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Raymond Doyley, 24, at his home at Manchester Avenue in the parish on Monday night.

Reports are that about 8:20 p.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. On their arrival, Doyley's body was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

MAN SHOT DEAD ON BALC****E DRIVE

Raymain Sangster, 25, of Sunrise Drive, Kingston 11, was shot dead by two men on Balc****e Drive on Monday night.

Police reports are that about 8:30 p.m., Sangster was walking along Balc****e Drive when he was approached by two men. An argument developed between him and the men. The argument escalated into a fight and during the fracas, one of the men pulled a gun and opened fire hitting him. He died on the spot. The police were summoned, the crime scene processed and the body removed to the morgue.

In a rapidly developing and changing situation, the world could be on the brink of its first influenza epidemic in more than 40 years. At the time of publication, the World Health Organisation was still calling the situation a "public-health emergency of international concern".

The culprit virus is the swine influenza A (H1N1), an emerging new strain of the H1N1 flu virus with genes from human, avian and swine variety flus. Though the virus is spreading from its epicentre in Mexico City (where it has already killed more than 80 people) across the borders of many other countries, there is some hopeful news from the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that laboratory testing has found the swine influenza A virus is susceptible to the prescription antiviral drugs, oseltamivir and zanamivir. Relevant sources say that limited supplies of these drugs are available in Jamaica but that supplies will increase as needed. The health minister, Rudyard Spencer, however indicated stepped-up monitoring at the island's ports of entry.
