art.ferrari.jpgCristiano Ronaldo has escaped punishment over the car smash earlier this year that saw his Ferrari written off.

The Manchester United star, who is set to move to Real Madrid for a world record fee, demolished the front of his high-performance sports car after he hit a roadside barrier in a tunnel on a freeway in the north-west of England city.

No other vehicle was involved and Ronaldo escaped injury. He spoke to police officers at the scene and was also later interviewed as well as giving a written statement.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman told Press Association Tuesday. "No further action will be taken against the driver of a Ferrari 599 GTB, which collided with a wall on the A538 Wilmslow Road on Thursday, January 8.

"No-one was injured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident."

It was reported that the Portuguese star had only owned the top-of-the-range sports car for just a few days before the accident.

The impact of the crash saw one of the Ferrari's wheels come off and end up 200 meters away, with skid marks on the road clearly prominent.

The FIFA World Player of the Year walked away from the smash and was given a lift to training that morning by then Manchester United teammate Edwin van der Sar who had been driving along the same stretch of road behind him.

Dutchman Van de Sar also provided a statement to police about the incident.
Real Madrid and Manchester United confirmed last week that they had reached a deal to send Ronaldo to the Bernabeu, but it has still to be officially sealed

IS SERANI IN ALLIANCE????

December 11, 2008

MY QUESTION IS IF SERANI IS IN ALLIANCE OFFICIALLY, AS I WAS LISTENING THE RADIO AND HEARD A DUB AND AT THE END HE SAID.. ALLIANCE
getty_kelis_nas_405.jpg
Kelis claims estranged hubby Nas has left her high and dry not offering her a penny in the wake of her impending birth and she says she's broke "I have run out of money."
Kelis filed legal papers claiming Nas isn't paying her support, pre-natal expenses -- nothing, even though she claims he is filthy rich.

Kelis is asking the judge to order Nas to pay spousal support, child support, all pregnancy-related expenses, and one-half of all medical expenses after the child is born. She also wants $3,500 for the baby nurse after the child's birth, and $20,000 for strollers, cribs and other baby supplies.

Kelis says, "My survival is based on [Nas'] will at this time. If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid." The couple was married in 2003. The baby is due this month.

Kelis says she's entitled to maintain the lifestyle to which she became accustomed during their marriage -- they have five homes, fly first class, go to fancy restaurants, and on and on. Most interesting -- "There were many expensive pieces [of jewelry] such as a princess-cut diamond tennis bracelet that was recently appraised for $190,000. My engagement ring is an approximately nine-carat cushion-cut diamond solitaire. I have numerous watches...such as Cartier, Rolex, Frank Muller and Chopard."

Her lawyer, disso-queen Laura Wasser, says in a separate declaration she's asked Nas to ante up some $$$ for Kelis and the unborn baby but he hasn't responded.

Pastor suspected of carnal abuse

A self-professed healer from the United States of America, was taken into police custody on Sunday night on suspicion of carnal abuse. He has not yet been charged.

The accused is from Brooklyn, New York.

Reports are that the pastor came to the island last week at the invitation of a Westmoreland-based church.

two teenagers

It is alleged that he attended an outdoor crusade in the company of two teenagers, one 14 and the other 15. It is further alleged that the girls accompanied him to Clarendon and then he took them to a hotel in Negril.

The Pastor, it is said, made advances towards the 14-year-old who turned him down. It is alleged that he, however, had sexual intercourse with the 15-year-old and then gave her some money.

The police became aware of the matter and he was nabbed on Sunday night, minutes before he was about to take the pulpit.

His' ministry is known worldwide and he is especially known for his 'ability' to heal others.

Two men charged with breaching the Hire Purchase Act after being accused of wrongfully seizing a motor vehicle which the police say they had no claim to appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The accused men are Clinton Williams, 35, a bailiff of a Kew Lane, Kingston 13 address, and Lloyd Campbell, a 42-year-old businessman of a Kingsway Avenue, Kingston 10 address. Williams is also charged with assaulting a female.

The allegations are that Williams, posing as a bailiff, seized the complainant's 2003 Toyota Ipsum motor car on May 29 in New Kingston. The complainant had borrowed a loan from Campbell's lending agency First Union Financial Limited and had fallen into arrears. The car was reportedly seized by the company in an effort to recover the loss.

cover the arrears

Investigations by police, however, revealed that the car was not owned by the complainant and therefore the organisation could not seize it and use it to cover the arrears. The car was reportedly purchased with a loan obtained from another financial institution and is still the property of that institution.

Further checks also revealed that Williams' bailiff licence had expired in March and was still not valid at the time when he seized the vehicle. It is alleged that Williams assaulted the complainant during the process of seizing the car.

When the matter was mentioned on Monday, Williams' fingerprints were requested, while Campbell was not present but was represented by an attorney.

The second of two men who shot and injured a man at a nightclub two years ago was sentenced to serve 18 years hard labour in the Gun Court on Friday.

He is Germaine Litchmore of Passagefort Drive, Portmore, St Catherine. His accomplice Dwayne Brisco, also of a Passagefort address, was sentenced to 18 years' imprisonment on March 3 this year.

According to Detective Constable Llewellyn Madden of the Waterford Police Station, in April 2007, the men went to the Cool Breeze Nightclub in Portmore where they were told that a woman had been in a dispute with a male inside the club.

It is reported that the men went inside the club, brandished handguns and fired shots hitting the complainant who made a report to the police.

Both men were held and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and shooting with intent.

The men were sentenced by Justice Brian Sykes.

Following weeks of intensive investigations, detectives attached to the Montego Bay CIB have formally charged a man with the murder of a woman with whom he had a close relationship.

He is Brian Taylor, a 51-year-old labourer who pushes handcart at the Charles Gordon Market in Montego Bay. Two weeks ago, investigators said they were confident that they had sufficient evidence to charge Taylor after Merleen Gayle's mutilated body was found in a shallow grave a short distance from his house in Fern, Cambridge, St James.

Gayle, 40, who was from Dumfries in the parish, left her home about 6:30 a.m. on May 23 to meet a friend in downtown Montego Bay. On their return, Gayle told her friend she was going to Cambridge to see a friend. When she did not return home, a missing person report was filed at the Adelphi Police Station.

*lo**stains

On May 25, residents told the Cambridge police they heard a woman repeatedly crying for murder a few days earlier. The sound came from the direction of Taylor's house. Eyewitnesses say they also saw someone burning items at the back of Taylor's house.

Acting on information received, the police visited Taylor and found *lo**stains inside his house and burnt residue at the back of the two-room board house. Taylor denies having murdered anyone.

Investigators subsequently uncovered Gayle's nude body in a freshly dug grave in a gully located close to Taylor's house. Her bra**iere was also found near the grave.

Gayle, a mother of three, had separated from her husband several years ago. Taylor is married. Detective Corporal Horace Bond of the Montego Bay CIB is leading the investigation.

The lawyers representing former Prime Minister PJ Patterson have initiated legal action against Nationwide News Network (NNN) and its CEO Cliff Hughes arising from the stations coverage of the arrival of a plane in Kingston.

Mr Patterson and several Digicel executives were aboard the flight, which landed at the Norman Manley International Airport on May 14.

K.D. Knight, one of the lawyers from the firm, Knight, Junior and Samuels, says a letter was sent to Nationwide News Network and Cliff Hughes last week.

Mr Knight said its too early to say whether his client will settle the matter out of court.

He said the lawyers have pondered a figure on the amount of damages to be paid, but he is first awaiting a response from the defendants.

Contacted this afternoon, Mr Hughes acknowledged receipt of the letter from Mr Pattersons lawyers.

He said the matter has been turned over to the stations lawyers and its still awaiting their advice.

Biography

Boone Chatta from Berlin, Germany, is a Singer, Songwriter and Sound System MC or, in just one word, Entertainer. He started singing and songwriting at the age of twelve doing mainly RnB and Hip-Hop. In the 90ies he was inspired by caribbean Reggae, Dancehall and Soca music and began to sing in Patois (jamaican english).

In his early years he became part of the Berlin scene and soon reknown as an exceptional talented MC. In 2005 he joined his friend Franky Fire to begin a professional Sound System career with "Soca Twins". As part of the Soca Twins he won an International Soca Award in 2008 and they both became the first Europeans to get international recognition in the Soca business in form of an award. Through their worldwide success, Boone Chatta already cheered thousands of spectators on stages in Germany, Switzerland, UK, USA, Kanada and thoughout the caribbean.

Boone also hosted sound clashes and live shows for reknown soca artists like Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons, Alison Hinds, Rupee, Benjai and many more.

Due to the broad variety of his influences, Boone Chattas repertoire and love for music ranges from smooth Reggae, to hardcore Dancehall and jump up Soca. So its almost impossible to pigeonhole Boone into a defined genre because his interests and skills are not limited to a certain style. Plus, hes always striving to cross the existing musical borders. His lyrics go from the deepest gully to uptown mainstream.

After several Single releases Boone Chattas Debut Album is due to be released in Autumn 2009 including collaborations with international producers and artists.
As the line-up for Reggae Sumfest International Nights rolls out, the big names keep popping up. The latest to be revealed are singers Toni Braxton and Neyo, who join Jazmin Sullivan and Nas as the other international acts.
This was disclosed to media and VIP guests recently at the New York launch of what is considered the worlds greatest showcase of reggae music.
A six-time Grammy Awards winner, Braxton has sold over forty million records worldwide.
Her number-one single, Unbreak My Heart, is the second-biggest selling single by a female singer in Billboard history. Her most recent albums were More Than a Woman under the Arista label, and Libra, her first and only release on Blackground.

Braxton was involved in the 7th season of the reality show Dancing with the Stars.
Ne-Yo, a favourite locally ever since the mega-success of his big song So Sick, has five top ten songs on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artiste and two number-one albums on the Billboard 200.
He broke into the recording industry as a songwriter, penning the hit Let Me Love You for singer Mario.
In 2006, Neyo released his debut album, In My Own Words, which contained the US number one hit So Sick.
The Sumfest launch party featured two 2009 performing stars, Flippa Mafia and Spice.

Graffiti artist turned dancehall artiste / manager L.A. Lewis (aka the 7-Star General), who has been in and out of court recently, was reportedly evicted (for non-payment of rent) from the building from which his LA Lewis Enterprise Limited operates on Burlington Avenue in Kingston yesterday. Despite the pouring rain, his furniture and equipment were removed from the building and placed either on the sidewalk or in a truck that was parked a few metres away.

He reportedly said that he was unable to pay his rent because he was losing business as a result of his on-going court case involving Lady Marsha. He said his business was going through a depression and that he was involved in many different projects.

BOSTON A real estate agent says a resident of Boston's upscale Back Bay section plunked down $300,000 to own what is believed to be the priciest parking space in the city's history.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage agent Debra Sordillo told The Boston Globe that several residents of a building on Commonwealth Ave. bid for the coveted space, driving up what had been the original asking price of $250,000.

Sordillo said prime parking spaces are very difficult to come by in the neighborhood near the Public Garden.

The winning bidder was not identified. The Globe reported that the seller of the parking the space is also trying to sell a two-bedroom suite in the building for $2.5 million.

A sudden increase of HIV infections within the adult movie industry could lead to health regulations, sources say. But porn industry officials warn that such moves could push the $12-billion-a-year industry underground.

Last Thursday, a report in the The Los Angeles Times revealed that a porn actress had tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. The Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation confirmed this report, but would not release the womans name. This public disclosure led porn industry officials to claim that this had been the first reported case of HIV in their industry since 2004. But Los Angeles County Health officials dispute this, saying that there have been at least 16 other (though unpublicized) cases of HIV among porn performers since that time. August is the date being announced for the long-awaited follow-up album for deejay Sean Paul
In the meantime, the lead single So Fine is stirred up a lot of love from fans in France, Canada, Belgium, Norway and Sweden who have made it the most downloaded reggae/dancehall song in those territories.

Popular online music store iTunes has So Fine charting in those five nations but it is void on the US online charts. Reports are, however, that the single should be made available in the US within the next two weeks.

The single So Fine also had found its way on Billboards R&B Hip Hop Singles & Tracks where it made its debut at number 90

Sean Paul has topped the Billboard Hot 100 three times but has had only one chart-topper on the R&B chart. He reached pole position with Get Busy in 2003.
A recap of Sean Paul titles to have hit the R&B chart include Deport Them, Hot Gal Today, Gimmie the Light, Get Busy, Like Glue, Im Still in Love With You, Temperature, We Be Burning, (When You Gonna) Give it Up to Me (with Keyshia Cole), Baby Boy (with Beyonce), Breathe (with Blu Cantrell) and Come Over (with Estelle).

When the smoke cleared in the Giants stadium Sunday night, Dancehall had taken another huge step into the mainstream courtesy of Mavado, Serani and Elephant Man, all of whom represented different aspects of Dancehall music very well to around 50,000 patrons.

All 3 acts did very well on the main stage, Serani's greatly-improved stage presence shone, with his crossover hit No Games proving to be the monster it is. Mavado, representing the hardcore side of Dancehall, stalked the stage commandingly, and was given a great response to hits such as "Whe Dem a Do?" "On the Rock" and "So Special." Elephant Man lived up to his Energy God moniker and had the whole stadium signaling the plane!

"We got huge exposure from this show," said Mavado after his performance. "The on-air promotion HOT 97 gave us in the run-up to the show was priceless, as well as being able to sing in front of so many people on the same bill as Mary J Blige, Jay Z and so many others. Its the first time I've performed in front of such a huge crowd and I was very pleased at the response."
mavadoseranitpainbigchainsummerjamelephantman.jpg

"You could see people rocking way in the upper tiers at the back when we were on stage" added Serani, who's birthday actually fell on the same day as SUMMER JAM, the biggest show in his life. "The whole crowd wished me happy birthday during my performance which was the best present I think I ever had! Shout out to HOT 97, Ebro, Jill, Bobby & Jabba, Mr Cee, Flex, Cipha, Angie, Willie Daniels, all those who made this possible."
mavadoseranitpainbigchainsummerjamelephantmancrowd.jpg
Patrons left the stadium very pleased by the newly-added Dancehall segment and HOT 97 have already indicated that it is something they would like to continue with for future Summer Jams.

mavadoseranitpainbigchainsummerjamelephantmangirl.jpgApart from the well-received Dancehall segment, the talk of the night was when Jay Z, who arrived Obama-style in a van surrounded by security guards with ear pieces jogging alongside the vehicle, touched the stage with Young Jeezy.

Jay Z released a song titled D.O.A (Death of Autotune) on Friday on the station and by Sunday night he had 50,000 people singing along.

"I've never seen that happen before," said Hip Hop DJ legend Funkmaster Flex. "I've been doing this a long time and I've never seen anything like that!"

Friday night saw Mavado and Serani in Hartford, CT, where they performed on HOTJAM 8, alongside Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, Drake, Fabolous, Trey Songz and more.

"We've been on around a half dozen of these type of events this year which has never been done by more than one Dancehall act," said manager Julian Jones-Griffith. "Our aim is to get Dancehall artists as a must-have on these types of shows, so that our music and our artists are positioned alongside urban music in the US. With the great reception Mavado and Serani have been receiving from the mainstream hopefully things are changing for the genre."

50 years of devotion

June 15, 2009
Started By shawndj4 Comments

Linnette and Irvin Bolton were joined together in holy matrimony 50 years ago. They got married on April 15, 1959. Linnette was 19 and her husband 38 at the time of their marriage.

"I was honoured to marry him. I wanted an older man to take care of me because I did not have a father to care for me, while I was growing up. So I said I needed an older man to take care of me; and he really does," said Mrs Bolton with a broad smile.

Linnette said she got saved when she was 17 years old at the same church where her husband worshipped. She noted that Irvin who noticed her after she went to the church, asked her to marry him but her reply was no.

"I told him that I was not ready because I was much younger than he was. However, when I got home that night and spoke with my mother, she said to me 'a constant dropping is better than a heavy shower, so you could take this man to be your husband. In whatever state you find yourself, both of you encourage one another," said Linnette.

She explained that after some time, Irvin came back to her and asked her if she had made up her mind about marriage. Linnette said she did not hesitate and she then told him 'yes'. She said they got married nine months later.

simple affair

The wedding, according to Linnette was a simple affair. She added that if they were to do it the same way it was done 50 years ago, persons would laugh to death.

"In this day you would laugh, because at the wedding we had only one loaf of bread. There was no wedding cake. Not even a bulla cake we never had. I also had a tin of corned beef that we used to make sandwiches, we had some quench aid which we used to mix drinks and that was our wine for the reception. My friends and classmates came and they enjoyed what we had to eat and drink," explained Linnette while her husband smiled.

The Boltons stated that in their time they did not know what honeymoon was after persons got married. All she said they did was that they cooked their dinner, ate and then went to bed to have a nice time.

Irivn, who is less talkative than his wife said he got married to her because he saw in her the good Christian life she was living. He pointed out that in the early days when he started out as a Christian his pastor always said that they should live a good Christian life before marriage.

"I got saved in 1957, baptised in 1958 and then got married in 1959; so the three important things took place three years in a row," said Irvin

Mrs Bolton said since April 15, 1959, they have been living happily together. The couple admits that the early days were rough.

no food

Linnette, for example, said they were not able to find meals to eat in the early years together. Mr Bolton, however, points out that their trust in God helped to make life better for them. She noted also that two years after they got married their union produced their first child.

"From then I did not have any pleasure because every two years I had a baby and I did not stop until I had 11," said Linnette. She said her last child is now 24 years old. She also stated that all 11 children are Christians.

The Boltons, currently residing at Silent Hill in northwest Clarendon, are calling on persons who are not yet married not to choose their mate by themselves. Instead she wants them to know that they should ask God to guide them. She said if Christ is in the vessel, He will smile at every storm. She is also asking persons to note that as long as their marriage lasts they should put God first.

"Usher is currenty living in LA working on his album, which comes out in October. He normally not one to take many photos, however recently hes been photographed quite often. Hes doing the same thing that Jay Z and Beyonce are doing, which is hiring photographers to take pictures, that they have pre-approved. Hes trying to build positive press in his favor at the expense of his wifes image. From the advice given by his mother (whos hired a completly new publicity team), hes trying to get the public to Tameka her under the bus. At this point Tameka doesnt want to get divorced and everyone in her camp is thinking that hes just doing this as a publicity stunt to sell more records. like another Confessions record. Some wonder if this marriage was really a cover-up for an alternative lifestyle. Once the divorce papers are signed, the floodgates will open." Bossip.com

Remittance and call-centre employees have been making extra cash off Montego Bay's lottery scammers by selling the information on customers at prices as high as $15,000, THE STAR has been told.

Speaking with the newspaperyesterday, a Montego Bay resident made the disclosure after he said he overheard his neighbour scolding a child because the juvenile had seemingly misplaced his recently paid for 'contact list'.

"The man get wicked ova di yute," Jing-Bang* said. "Him a look everywhere fi the list and a get ruff pon de little bwoy a talk 'bout a 15 gran ($15,000) him jus pay fi it and him nuh mek nuh money off it yet. All now mi nuh know if him find it."

remittance agencies

In another situation, a reader emailed THE STAR from the United States, bemoaning that she would get frequent calls from scammers in Jamaica. The sad thing she noted was that these calls would only come in to her after she had used remittance agencies to send funds to her spouse here. The woman claimed that on one occasion, she sought to engage the scammer in a conversation. After telling the crook that she was really a Jamaican living in the States, she said he told her that he was only hustling and that an employee from the local remittance office in Jamaica gave him her contact information.

Senior managers from the agency mentioned by the woman dismissed the claims, however. The managers said that their system is "100 per cent secure" and customer information is shared with no one whatsoever.

It has long been said that unscrupulous persons in the remittance and telecommunication sectors have been at the heart of sourcing scammers with customer contact information in return for cash. This is an argument that Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Les Green, part of the Jamaican Operations Linked to Telemar-keting taskforce, says they are aware of.

conspiracy charge

However, the lawman said that they are yet to apprehend any such employee, whereas they have held scammers. He said such employees, if and when caught, would most likely be charged with conspiracy to defraud and possibly larceny charges.

ACP Green said investigations have revealed that scammers also get customer information from connection overseas. "There is an overseas link where contacts come into the country via mail from North America, South America, Canada and the UK (United Kingdom), " he said. "We have intercepted these packages before." He said these sets of contacts are used by scam artistes in other countries as well, North America and Africa being among them.

Green theorised that these particulars are leaked to scam artistes in those countries similarly to how it is reportedly done in Jamaica. He said it is not yet ascertain whether local scammers pay to have these overseas contact lists sent to them. He was unable to say how may such packages have been intercepted in recent times

The man, whose name is being withheld pending further investigations, was charged with larceny after a quantity of jewellery, liquor and appliances which he could not account for, was taken from his home.

As a condition of her bail she was told to report to the Lacovia police every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and stop orders were placed at all ports of entry and exit.

six illegal firearms

The two were taken into custody along with another man by the St Elizabeth police following the seizure of six illegal firearms from their two apartment house on May 31. The other man was released.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer for the parish Karole Panton reported that about 4:30 a.m. the police, acting on information carried out an operation at Newton district.

Armed with a warrant the police went to the unfinished concrete house, which was occupied by the female and two males, and following a search, six firearms, five 9mm pistols and a .38 revolver with three live rounds, were found.

The court was told that the brand new Smith and Weston weapons were found in different sections of the house. Three were found in a box, two in a drawer and the other in the closet.

They are booked to return to the Santa Cruz RM Court on July 13, 2009.

A man appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday for punching his child's mother multiple times. Patrick Smith was charged with assault, occasioning bodily harm and unlawful wounding. According to Smith, the complainant searched his bag and found two condoms. She then accused him of cheating and slapped him in his face. He told the court that he retaliated and punched her several times. Smith mentioned that the complainant also destroyed his television set, DVD and stereo. different story The complainant, however, gave the court a different story indicating that the bag fell from the table and the condoms fell out since the bag did not have a zipper. She added that she accused him of cheating on her and he pushed her. She told the court that she pushed him back and that's when Smith punched her in her face. She said she fell on the bed and the accused man came on top of her and started punching her all over her body including her face and ribs. The television, DVD and stereo got damaged during the tussle. After hearing the complainant say that she has been suffering from a bruised rib, which has prevented her from sleeping properly, Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey ordered the accused to immediately carry her to the doctor and return to court on June 16.

A St Catherine woman who was caught by the Portmore police attempting to smuggle contraband to her husband who was in their custody was sentenced to 10 days' hard labour for her effort.

Velma Henzil told the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court that she did not know that the drugs was in the pair of slippers she was giving to her husband at the lock-up.

''Your Honour, the truth is the pair of slippers was given to me by a man to be delivered to my husband, honestly, I did not know drugs was in it,'' Henzil said.

Having heard the explanation, Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Greene told the accused woman that she would be naive to believe her poor excuse. She subsequently sentenced Henzil to 10 days' hard labour, in addition to a fine of $400 for possession of one ounce of ganja.

The court learnt that on June 3 the accused went to visit her husband who was in custody at the Portmore Police Station in St Catherine. The police observed that there was something strange about the pair of slippers she brought to her jailed spouse.

After it was checked, a false compartment was found to contain tobacco, matches and ganja. She was then charged with possession of ganja and attempting to distribute contraband. She was not represented by an attorney when she appeared in court

A man accused of receiving stolen property and larceny of a motor vehicle in relation to two cars, was denied bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Charged for the offences is Patrick Westmoreland, 52.

The court heard that Westmoreland was seen driving a car that was reported stolen from the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre a few days earlier. He was seen in St Catherine. He, however, told the court that he was asked to deliver the car to someone in the parish and had no idea that it was stolen.

In relation to the second charge, the court was told that Westmoreland responded to the complainant's advertisement in the newspaper regarding a car for sale. He went to the complainant's home and looked at the vehicle. He reportedly took it for a test drive but never returned. The vehicle was, however, recovered two days later with a different license plate.

keeping the car

Westmoreland's attorney said his client was keeping the car so a mechanic could look at it. The court was also told that he had viewed the car on someone else's behalf.

Westmoreland, the court heard, also had a previous conviction for larceny and fraud. Westmoreland was denied bail and is to return to court on June 18.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s long-awaited return to the ring will have to wait a bit longer after the six-time world boxing champion sustained a rib injury during practice last week, forcing the postponement of his July 18 fight with Mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas.

Richard Schaefer, the president of Golden Boy Promotions, Mayweather's promoter, said he learned of the injury Sunday morning and won't have any information about a new date until Mayweather sees a doctor again this week.

"He just couldn't train, he couldn't move. It was very painful," said Schaefer, who added that the rib wasn't broken.

Mayweather retired undefeated, regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, after a December 2007 victory over Ricky Hatton, then announced his planned return against Marquez last month. And Schaefer speculated Sunday that the long layoff may have contributed to his injury.

"If you are off and you know how tough of an [opponent] Juan Manuel Marquez is, you know that you have to train promptly, that you have to push yourself," he said. "If you have a well-oiled machine which fights every three, four, five months or so, that's one thing. But if you're off for a while, it certainly doesn't help the cause."

The fight, which was to be shown on HBO pay-per-view, was already suffering at the box office, where it was not attracting the same action as Mayweather's earlier fights with Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya. And the delay almost certainly takes the Mayweather-Marquez winner out of the conversation for Manny Pacquiao's next fight. Pacquiao was ringside at Madison Square Garden on Saturday to watch Miguel Cotto's split-decision victory over Joshua Clottey and was to meet with his team Sunday to discuss his next bout, with potential opponents now likely narrowed to Cotto and Shane Moseley.

Mayweather's Manager Leonard Ellerbe did not respond to messages seeking comment although the fighter issued a statement in which he said he was training hard and was disappointed with the postponement.

Marquez, who is training in Mexico, also expressed disappointment and said he "will remain focused, in shape and ready to fight whenever the fight is rescheduled."

R&B singer Usher filed for divorce last Friday from Tameka Foster Raymond, less than two years after their glitzy wedding at a Georgia resort.

The 30-year-old Grammy-winning artiste, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, filed the petition in the superior court in Atlanta. Records posted to the court's website did not give any details about the split between the R&B star and his wife, who were married in August 2007.

glitzy wedding

About 200 people attended the wedding between the two at a resort built in the style of a 16th-century French chateau on 3,500 hilly acres (1,400 hectares) outside Atlanta.

They have two sons, 18-month-old Usher Raymond V and six-month-old Naviyd Ely Raymond. His wife has three children from a previous marriage.

Email and telephone messages to Usher's publicist were not immediately returned.

In a May 2008 interview with The Associated Press, Usher addressed negative feedback from bloggers over his relationship with his wife, who's eight years older and was once his stylist.

"People are so attracted to drama. That's easier to take than a story of righteousness," Usher said at the time.

"I decided to marry this woman, then I decided to be a father to my child," he said. "... It's not like I got caught with a gram of coke in my car or speeding or was caught for murder, so why would I be ridiculed, that's why I don't understand - that's the part that is mind boggling. Why would I be ridiculed for that, even a year later."

Prior to the marriage, Usher had a string of public romances, most notably his three-year relationship with Chilli from TLC.

Should I tell my husband about my threesome? mr_proppafix_logo.jpg Dear Mr. Proppafix I have some burning issues that I have to sort out before I will be able to progress with my life. I am a 28 year old married woman living in upper St Andrew with a blossoming career in marketing. My husband a handsome - well known businessman that many women consider attractive and throw themselves at him on a daily basis. We have been married for close to four years now and so far our relationship has been wonderful. There is a huge skeleton in my closet that is getting to me; even to the point where I find it difficult to sleep at times because I feel so guilty. About six months into our marriage, I was doing some shopping on the mall one weekend when my ex- boyfriend who worked with a clothing company, called me and said he wanted to fit some of the new clothing that had just come from abroad. I hesitated but eventually agreed to pass by his place. I had no intention of doing anything but trying on some clothes but when I was in the changing room, my ex opened the door on me and one thing lead to another and we ended up on the floor sexing each other like two mad people. He knew I couldnt resist him because he was always the best lover I ever had. We made love a long time and I could tell that he really missed my body. The problem occurred when his friend who was in the other room sorting out some clothes accidentally walked in on us and I couldnt believe that my ex actually offered him some instead of running him. ReadMore-color.jpg I dont know if it was because of the sate that I was in or because my ex has always had my head, but I agreed to have sex with both of them and they really did make use of the opportunity. They both pounded me like two men fresh out of prison. Later that day when I got home I couldnt look my husband straight in the face and I made an excuse that I wasnt feeling well and went straight to bed. I felt like I had totally betrayed his trust and our vows which is something that I never planned to do. Mr. Proppa fix ever since that day I have felt different about myself and I really feel like a dirty person. I am never happy because deep down I know what I have done and it is eating me. Sometimes succeed in forgetting but something reminds me whether it is a picture or movie on TV. I really need your advice because I cant go on like this. Should I come clean and just tell my husband what I have done? I am desperate ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Desperate I must begin by saying that deep down you already know the answer to your problem and although it may not be easy, it must be done if you want to be at peace with yourself. You must tell your husband the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. How you go about doing this it entirely based on the type of man he is. It must be done with caution if he has a high temper and maybe it would be better to do it in the presence of a counselor in that case. Apart from that I can only wish you all the best in the outcome of how he's going to think of you and as you must know that this can even lead to him wanting a divorce - if not now, latter. I can assure you that he will never forget what you have done and this will definitely make it hard for him to ever trust you again. People make mistakes everyday and from the sounds of your letter; you truly regret what you have done so I am sure you have no intention of ever doing it again. Once again I wish you all the best and next time think before you act. Tell the truth and be at peace with yourself. That is my advice young lady - tek it or leave it

50-cent-news.jpgSeemingly out of the blue 50 Cent announced that he would be releasing a self-described street album for download this Tuesday (June 16) on his wesbsite ThisIs50.com.

Fif revealed the news in an interview with MTV News, where he said the disc, titled War Angel, is more like a street album, as opposed to a mixtape. Creatively, this is not even a mixtape, he said. Thats why I put LP next to it. My core audience will understand it immediately, and its written specifically for that.

The G-Unit honcho is very proud of the 10-track project. When you hear it, out of all the material I put on the street, youre gonna say thats the best body of work I put out in the mixtape circuit, period, he boasted. The way the mood of music is right now, when they hear what this is, theyll say, Thats what we needed.

While the Queens rapper is hard at work on his long delayed studio album, Before I Self-Destruct, he plans to drop several other releases in the meantime. I have two other tapes to follow it, he shared. Fourth of July, Sincerely Southside Part 2 coming out with mostly 90s music on it. Timeless music, classic hit records. Then, after that, theres a G-Unit mixtape. Its actually untitled. Ill be finished with it in the next day or so.

Before I Self Destruct is now slated to hit shelves sometime in September.

Ace female deejay Marion 'Lady Saw' Hall was raped as a little girl when living in the garrison but now several years later, she wants to tell her story.

In an emotional phone interview earlier this week, Lady Saw spoke about her ordeal and the heartbreaking phone call that stirred up her old memories.

"I was here at home one day when a young girl called me, a teenager. She was crying; she told me she had been raped and I told her to go to the police but she couldn't cause of the area she lived in. She was gonna kill herself. I told her not to 'cause she wouldn't see God's place if she did. It was so emotional for me and she asked me to do a song about rape for her," Saw said.

Looking back on her experiences, today Saw can identify with the girl who had confided in her. According to Saw, she also did not file a police report at the time either, as it would not have made a difference.

"My first man, I didn't give myself to - is someone I know, he seemed to be a nice person but ended up being like everyone else. Where I was living at the time ... police report ... please ... I was a simple little girl from the country come to di ghetto. I never say it to my mother 'cause she was a peaceful woman. I was new to it (the ghetto) and had been through so much there," she said.

Shock waves

After the incident she said she walked from Kingston to St Mary to be home where she could find comfort.

Lady Saw began sharing her experience onstage last Sunday at the Follow Di Arrow show in Oracabessa, St Mary. The announcement which took place during her performance sent shock waves throughout the venue and the once excited patrons stood eerily silent.

She closed her performance with a few lines of the upcoming of being "a little girl" who "got rape an' cage dung inna de garrison".

In a moving display, Saw declared in her performance "man juk me dung before me reach 16" and deejayed "my first boyfriend wasn't my chosen boyfriend" before pausing, "it gets emotional".

She continued, though, with, "I was abducted and taken to his ends/he was surprised to know I was a virgin/dat neva stop him from molest de ting."

During the interview, Saw in commenting about the song said that "these are the things a lot of women go through, they don't talk about. I wrote that song for me, her (little girl) and all the other women who have been through similar experiences".

According to Saw, the young girl's experience resonated in her and she recalled her own experience. She says that although people may see her success today she has been through 'nuff ting'. In the chorus of the song, she says "if you see me smiling today/don't try to take that away".

She said that it was only when she was much older that she told someone about the incident. However, she says things are different now and that sexual abuse should definitely be reported.

"Go to the police and deal with it. In my time, I couldn't but its different now. Don't feel ashamed as if you did something wrong, it corrupts your mind, your thoughts, you don't want to trust men again. Keep praying and enjoy life. If you allow it, it will depress you while the man is out there merry," Saw advised.

Made me cry

Police sources advised that there is no time limit on when rape can be reported, so even many years after the incident charges can be brought against the accused.

"These women need to speak out 'cause to think that a man can come out of a woman's w**** and treat women like an animal. I'm not getting depressed over dat 'cause I'm still alive," Saw said.

After her performance at Oracabessa, Saw says that she got calls and several persons told her what a wonderful song it was.

"That song made me cry. Infertility, the song about my mother and this one, those are the three songs that make me cry when I perform them," Saw said.

The song which is yet to be entitled is produced by Sly and Robbie and is to hit the airwaves soon. "I just want to tell dat girl that I did the song. It's a story about me too, I like to write songs that when I perform it, I want people to feel it," she said.

In the meanwhile Lady Saw is working on an autobiography which further details that and other ordeals, including what happened when she went home.

"When I pass, I want to leave a story behind, some history, not di other side about sex, sex, sex ... Yes, sex is good (but) when both parties are into it. I might never have kids, so I want to leave something of me behind," Lady Saw said.
