COREY TODD A BAD INFLUENCE ON AIDONIA?

It has to be the bad Corey Todd influence on Aidonia which have lead to the beating of DJ wah wah. DJ Wah Wah a young disc jock who is or was a friend of Aidonia that plays music from all artiste in the business as he should. But being Aidonias friends DJ Wah Wah helped the pushing of Aidonias music.

Apparently the relationship broke down when Wah Wah was asked which side he prefers?.. does he show a preference for the Gullyside Music, Gaza Music, Alliance Music, Red Square Music, Hill Top Music or J.O.P Music apparently DJ Wah Wah gave the wrong answer he said a music mi seh and according to him this is what lead to Adonias affiliates bussing his head and chasing him with DJ Wah Wah ended up with several stitches to the head.

DJ Wah Wah in a recent interview said that the lesson he learnt from this is that you are to study your friends cause they are studying you.. a line from I-Octane tune. The point is.. I have never really seen or heard anything as bad as this from Aidonia so it must be an influence from his new affiliates Anyway Aidonia denied the allegation.. this was what he had to say

I was in the parking lot talking to five girls when I saw Wah Wah talking to a couple of yutes, then mi hear things get heated. Mi hear Wah Wah say some derrogatory things to the yute dem and start sending threats. When him tell one ah the yute dem suck yu madda, mi coulden believe it, mi affi say anno Wah Wah that, mi shock. He started the fight and caan defend it, yu caan say certain tings to people out a road and nuh expect dem tings, then when him start get beat up, him ah look fi me to defend it when him start the almshousemi coulden save Wah Wah, him start the fight and mi cannot get involved inna something like that, right now, no negativity towards my career. OH: VYBZ KARTEL TO UNVEIL LINE OF SKIN CARE PRODUCTS [MORE PICTURES]

The OH! Fragrance line, based off Kartels popular catch phrase, will debut on Jamaican shelves on September 15th; accompanied by a variety of skin care products including astringents amongst other products for women & men. It is the fragrance from Vybz Kartel called OH, and Its for men and women. Also i have astringent, and skin lighteners/toners for the ladies as well. Its a whole line of skin care products from the Worl Boss, Kartel explained via press release.

This will be the third different product merchandized by Kartel since the beginning of 2011. In February, Di Teacha announced the launching of his shoe brand called Addis, & also announced his intention to release t-shirts, dog tags & belt buckles based off the Kartel brand. The Dancehall Hero also unveiled his own brand of blue power soap called Vybz Cake Soap, in May across select stores in Kingston & Falmouth. Kartels cake soap, branded as an acne cleansing product sold off thousands of cases in its first weekend on local shelves.

BEENIE MAN AND DANGEL BREAKS UP & DIVORCE ALREADY IN THE WORKS

The five year marriage of well-renowned Dancehall couple, Moses Beenie Man Davis & Michelle DAngel Downer seems to finally be heading for the end after Beenie confirmed on TVJs Entertainment Report last night that divorce papers are indeed in the works.

The duos marriage has endured a slew of trials & tribulations; sparking rumors of infidelity during their separation in 2007. However, they worked out their problems shortly thereafter & all has seemed right in the Davis household since. But Beenie now says, their most recent split could be permanent; telling ER, Yeah, divorce papers send, mi nuh kno if it sign. Additionally, he claimed that DAngel told Beenie to disappear from her life & confirmed the two havent spoken within the last two weeks. Divorce a divorce man, that how it goes man, you move on. Juan Mata has completed his move to Chelsea from Spanish club Valencia for a reported £23.5m.

Mata has signed a five-year contract and is available for Saturday's game against Norwich.

"Valencia was a big club anyway but I have left to join a bigger club," the 23-year-old winger said. "It is all about the opportunity to win trophies and I have that here."

The Spaniard said Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas convinced him to move.

"He said he wanted Chelsea this season to play more attacking football, and that I would be a big part of that," added Mata.

"Villas-Boas is someone who won almost everything last year [the former Porto boss won the Portuguese league, Europa League and two domestic cups last season] and we are both here with the idea of winning lots this season."

Mata, who can play on the wing or centrally, revealed that he could have a versatile role in a Chelsea side that lacked width last season.

"The plan is that I can play on either flank or even in the middle playing in between the lines of midfield and attack, he said.

"I like to keep the ball and use it well, I am an attacking player and above all I like to set up goals and score them also.

"I want to adapt as quickly as possible to my new surroundings, my colleagues and this league, and I would love to win a trophy in my first season.

"If it can be the Premier League then great."

Chelsea and Valencia confirmed that a fee had been agreed on Sunday and while it has not been officially disclosed reports in Spain suggest the Blues are paying £23.5m.

Mata has been at Valencia since 2007 and as captain helped Spain win the Under-21 European Championship in the summer. He was also part of Spain's 2010 World Cup winning squad.

Mata joined Valencia from Real Madrid's youth team. Last season, the 23-year-old midfielder, who is 5ft 7in tall, scored eight goals to help Valencia to a third-place finish in the Primera Liga.

Dancehall artiste Richie Loop has come under fire from US rapper Flawless Da Rap Chick. The rapper accuses the Jamaican artiste of stealing her song bearing the title My Cupp.

The rapper says that she recorded her song in 2008, as a party song.

In my cup was a catchphrase used with my friends and so I thought it would be cool as a song, so I wrote it, she said.

According to the rapper, she came to Jamaica to do promotions, and played the song in a club at Ochi Rios and thats when Richie Loop must have got the idea.

Initially, the DJs were playing my song, and when I returned to Jamaica I started to hear his My Cupp instead of mine and that was 2010, so I asked a DJ who is that and he said Richie Loop, she said.

She continued I was so angry because I worked so hard to promote my song and somebody took it and promoted it like it was his, she told THE WEEKEND STAR.

Flawless Da Rap Chick says that she asked other people to listen to both songs and they agreed that they were far too similar.

I wasnt going to do nothing about it but when I went back to New York, people started to contact me saying somebody stole my song, she said.

The rapper says that she contacted a lawyer and she was told that she doesnt have a case because the words in Richie Loops song were not the exact ones she used in her song.

She claims that even Richie Loops music video was made based on her video and thats what led her to leave a rude comment on Richie Loops profile and he responded.

He accused me of trying to get more views for my video. I dont have a crab inna barrel mentality, and he is a hypocrite because he stole my song and is acting like Im trying to get respect from him, she said.

She also had some strong words for Richie Loop.

Next time you steal somebodys song, make sure its not a hot song in the country you stole it from because people will recognise it, she said.

Put it like this, everybody sing about love and its a different thing, what are you going to do, copyright the words cup or love? he said.Richie Loop also gave some stern advice to the rapper.

WEST CHESTER, Pa. The youngest child of reggae legend Bob Marley has admitted growing marijuana in her Philadelphia-area home.

The Daily Local News of West Chester reports 29-year-old Makeda Jahnesta Marley pleaded guilty Tuesday to having nearly a dozen large marijuana plants inside her home in Caln, about 30 miles west of Philadelphia.

Marley was arrested in 2008 after police say they found her removing plants from her basement when officers arrived on a domestic dispute call.

SAMUEL ETO'O has become the highest paid player in the world after quitting Inter Milan to join Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

The Cameroon striker, 30, will pocket a mind boggling £345,000 per week AFTER tax with Anzhi agreeing a £22million transfer fee for his services.

A statement on Anzhi's website read: "Today an agreement was reached between the football clubs, Anzhi and Inter, for the transfer of Samuel Eto'o.

"The terms of the transfer are completely agreed on both sides.

"Anzhi expresses gratitude to the leadership of Inter Milan for their professional and constructive approach in the negotiations.

"Tomorrow the player will undergo a medical examination, following which the player will be awarded a three-year contract.

"On Thursday, Samuel will arrive at the location of his new team and will begin preparations for the match against FC Rostov."

Anzhi are owned by billionaire Russian Suleyman Kerimov and also have Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos and former Chelsea player Yuri Zhirkov on their playing staff.

Eto'o scored 21 goals in 35 Serie A appearances for Inter last season, having helped Barcelona to Champions League glory in 2006 and 2009. He scored in the final victories over Arsenal and Manchester United.

ZJ WAH WA GET BEAT UP FROM AIDONIA FRIENDS

A ZIP FM disc jockey was attacked and injured by men accused of being members of deejay Aidonias entourage on Friday night, THE STAR has learnt.

The incident reportedly happened outside the popular nightclub The Quad in New Kingston.

Information reaching THE STAR is that ZJ Wah Wa had to receive medical assistance following the onslaught.

According to one witness, members of the deejays entourage approached the ZIP FM disc jockey shortly after he finished his set inside the club. After exchanging heated words, Wah Wa was seen leaving the DJ booth and, soon after the entourage followed.

The witness recounted that the ZJ was seen going towards his car at the clubs VIP parking lot, however, the car was purposely blocked in by another car.

Di man dem block up di driveway and sey weh yuh a go, yuh a nuh bad man, the witness recalled.

BEATEN THE STAR understands that as the ZJ entered his vehicle he was attacked by two members of the deejays entourage and beaten in his head with a bottle. THE STAR further understands that two passers-by saw what was happening and came to Wah Was assistance allowing him to escape back into the club.The witness added, One of di man shout out a shot yuh fi get shot. Allegations are that Aidonia was present during the encounter.All efforts to get a comment from ZJ Wah Wa were unsuccessful.When checks were made with his management team THE STAR was informed that the incident had in fact taken place and that Wah Wa was taken to the Andrews Memorial Hospital where he received 12 stitches to the head.

NO COMMENT
According to Wah Wahs manager, the ZJ did not want to give a comment on the matter at this time. He, however, disclosed that they were currently in talks with Aidonia to come up with an amicable agreement to the situation.When contacted, Aidonias road manager Lav denied that the deejay and his entourage had any involvement in the incident.We dont know anything about that nor have we heard anything about that, he said.Despite this, the Half-Way Tree Police Station confirmed yesterday that a report had been made about the incident.

Just recently, it was reported in THE STAR that a member of the deejays entourage could be implicated in the stabbing of a man at Club Amnesia in Ocho Rios, St Ann. The man was reportedly stabbed during Aidonias performance at the club.

KHAGO SIGNS MANAGEMENT DEAL WITH COREY TODD

Emerging Dancehall-Reggae singjay, Ricardo Gayle, more popularly known as Khago has officially signed a deal with American businessman, Corey Todd a week after firing long-time manager, Paul Bankey Giscombe.

According to a source close to Todd & familiar the situation, Khago & Todd had a closed door meeting late last week; resulting in Khago inking a contract with the American entrepreneur & making him the *la*hd A Boil singers new manager. Khago is a talented youth and Corey Todd looking for talented artist so there shouldnt be no surprise about Khagos signing with Todd, the source told Urban Islandz.

Additionally, the source intimated that as part of Khagos new deal, he will be one of the faces on Todds new Yaad Stout drink that will hit Jamaican shelves later this week. I dont know the full detail of the deal, but you should see Khago face on some of the Yaad Stout liquor, because Todd know that Khago is one of the biggest acts this year and have huge marketing potential, said the source. Khago joins popular Dancehall deejay, Aidonia and legendary Dancehall entertainer, Beenie Man as acts that have joined forces with Todd for promotional purposes; endorsing the Yaad Swag & Stout drinks respectively.

Meanwhile, Khago will also be doing work with former Portmore Empire producer, Ainsley Notnice Morris & said material would be released soon. Khago have some new NotNice produce singles coming out, so look out for them. Khago unveiled a pair of new singles produced by Notnice earlier this month including Nuh Trust Fren, alongside fellow breakthrough singjay, JahVinci as well as Trouble on the Notnice Records/Corey Todd Records produced Takeover Riddim.

Beenie Mans publicist sent me an email last night which showed a story published in 2009 where there had been plans for a Beenie Man Reality TV show called Girls Dem Sugar which would be produced by Tara Playfair Scott and created and filmed by Kevin Barton of Lascelles Films. A pilot had been created but who knows what happened to it, but according to dem, Beenie Mans hectic international tour schedule made it hard to make the show a reality, but since Kartel no like tek plane, this idea perfect fi him.

MR. VEGAS HAD A VERY SUCCESSFUL EUROPIAN TOUR

International recording artiste Vegas has had a very successful European tour so far in August.

The Heads High singer has performed in countries such as Sweden, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Poland, and Finland in the past few weeks. During the next week, he will be doing gigs in Spain and Switzerland.
I am sharing the stage with Capleton, Sean Paul, Stephen Marley, Sly and Robbie and a number of great European artistes, the feedback has been great so far in the newspapers and the radio stations here in Europe, Vegas said in a release.

The tour ends on August 23rd. In the meantime, Vegas has also been getting rave reviews in the dancehall for his provocative and risque single, Bruck It Down. Church Offended By Jah Cure's Wedding

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church (EOC) in Jamaica has distanced itself from the wedding of reggae crooner Siccature 'Jah Cure' Al**** and television personality Kamilia McDonald.
The ceremony that took place at the Tryall Golf Hotel in Hanover on August 7 was noted to be an Ethiopian Orthodox Ceremony. In one television interview McDonald said she was baptised in the EOC when she was 16 years old and that she could not imagine doing things any other way.
However, on August 14, a notice in THE SUNDAY GLEANER claimed that the EOC had nothing to do with the ceremony. The notice further stated that the event should not have been carried out under the name of the church because it would have been in defiance of a decision that was made in the Supreme Court on June 15, 2007, indicating that schism are no longer members or part of the church and prevents their occupation of church premises.
In an interview with Kez876 Entertainment yesterday, Reverend Father Wolde Dawit, administrator and priest in charge of the EOC in Jamaica, said that, "Anyone who is not connected to this body is not officially a part of the church."
Kez876 Entertainment understands that in 1992 there was a split in the EOC when the late Arch Bishop Abuna Yesehaq, who was running the church for 15 years, broke away. On September 25, that same year, Yesehaq was divested of his authority. Interestingly, he continued to operate under the name of the EOC.
The legal battle between the parties began in 1994 when the EOC brought a suit in the Supreme Court against Yesehaq. After Yesehaq died, the suit was amended in 2006 and Lloyd Dobson, an administrator, substituted as the defendant.
Attorneys-at-law Raphael Codlin, Jacqueline Samuels-Brown and Tamika Gordon, who represented the EOC, argued that by Act 11 of 1978 the EOC was incorporated in Jamaica. They said the duly appointed Patriarch Abuna Gabriel had appointed a board of trustees in 1993 and that board was legally responsible for the running of the EOC.
It is understood that even though the order was made the breakaway group has continued to defy the order by occupying the church premises on Maxfield Avenue. The ruling has since been appealed and will be heard in October.

"They don't have any bishop, they just have a law by themselves, they are not recognised by the EOC. The former leader who was sent initially to establish the church broke away and they followed him. He gave reasons but it was rejected by the Holy Synod and the court in America," Father Dawit reasoned.
He further explained that Jah Cure's wedding ceremony which was officiated by Father Malakot (Lloyd Dobson) was unlawful.
"Only a bishop can ordain a priest. The priest who carried out the wedding was unlawfully ordained. During the time when the former bishop was divested and before he died in 2005, he unlawfully ordained a number of people," he said.
In the meantime, Father Dawit said that the EOC is the oldest christian church in the world and his main mission is to remove the image that it is a Rasta church.
"We believe in the Holy Trinity, we will never try to speak for them. There is so much confusion with those people so we never venture to say what they believe or what they don't," he said.
When contacted Jah Cure, however, had "no comment" to give on the matter. The singjay said he is focused on work such as the release of his upcoming album. He commented, "I have my album coming out and I'm leaving at the end of this month for a tour to Africa and South America. Work a gwaan, the world a call for Jah Cure."

THE Barack Obama administration has flatly rejected a request for a presidential pardon for Jamaica's first national hero, the Right Honourable Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

Garvey was imprisoned for mail fraud totalling US$25 in June 1923, and after spending two years and nine months in an Atlanta Federal Penitentiary, was deported from New Orleans, Louisiana to Jamaica on a ship.

Florida-based Jamaican-born attorney Donovan Parker has been writing to president Obama every week since January requesting a posthumous pardon for Garvey, who many believe was set up by the J Edgar Hoover-led Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), fearful of his widening popularity among downtrodden US blacks.

The Sunday Observer has acquired a copy of one letter sent by Parker to the US President, and the first ever reply from the White House on the matter .

"Marcus Mosiah Garvey is also a National Hero of Jamaica, West Indies and a leading forebear of the African American civil rights experience," wrote Parker.

"It is full time that this extraordinary human being of humble beginnings and strong moral character be pardoned by the pen of an American president. It would be fitting if both you, Mr President, and the first lady visit Jamaica for the purposes of signing the executive order pardoning Marcus Mosiah Garvey."

In a tersely worded reply to Parker's request, White House Pardon Attorney, Ronald Rodgers said such a move would be a waste of time and resources since Garvey had been dead for ages.

"It is the general policy of the Department of Justice that requests for posthumous pardons for federal offences not be processed for adjudication. The policy is grounded in the belief that the time of the officials involved in the clemency process is better spent on pardon and commutation requests of living persons.

"Many posthumous pardon requests would likely be based on a claim of manifest injustice, and given that decades have passed since the event and the historical record would have to be scoured to objectively and comprehensively investigate such applications, it is the Department's position that the limited resources which are available to process requests for Presidential clemency -- now being submitted in record numbers -- are best dedicated to requests submitted by persons who can truly benefit from a grant of the request," Rodgers replied on behalf of Obama, who is the first black president in the history of the United States.

Parker expressed his utter disappointment at the latest development and called on US ambassador to Jamaica Pamela Bridgewater, to add her voice to the call for Garvey to be officially pardoned.

"She should advise Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to strongly recommend an posthumous presidential pardon for the Right Honourable Marcus Mosiah Garvey in the name of human decency and justice. There is no reason why the US government shouldn't do this and Obama shouldn't sign it," Parker said.

The Jamaican-born attorney also pointed out that the original transcripts of Garvey's trial cannot be found.

"They don't have it. Somebody took it. I was told this by the Jamaican Consul General in Miami, Sandra Grant-Griffiths, who informed me via a letter," he said.

He doubted whether President Obama had actually seen the request.

"I believe there has been no co-ordinated effort to get this issue in front of the president. I think if President Obama reads it, he will sign it," Parker said.

Six years after being deported to his homeland, Garvey was also imprisoned in Jamaica for contempt of court and Culture Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange had, earlier this year, signalled her intention to do all within her powers to clear Garvey's name at home and abroad. Grange is reportedly assembling a team of Garveyites and legal minds to deal with this task.

Efforts to contact Grange yesterday were unsuccessful, but director of communications in the ministry of youth, culture and sports, Oliver Watt, said the news of the presidential rejection was a hard pill to swallow.

"We will be pursuing all the other options available to us. We definitely think his name should be cleared at home and overseas," Watt said.

Head of the Marcus Garvey-founded People's Political Party, Miguel Lorne, was also livid as well as disappointed by the rejection of Parker's request.

"The language used in the reply is most disdainful. It makes you wonder if Obama actually read the request. Obama must know about Garvey, who is the forerunner of the civil rights movement. It is most disappointing," Lorne told the Sunday Observer.

Former Prime Minister Edward Seaga asked the US President, the late Ronald Reagan to grant a full pardon to Marcus Garvey on the 1923 charge of mail fraud. A resolution was brought to the US House Subcommittee on Criminal Justice from as far back as 1987, but the issue seemed to have been pushed on the back burner.

Marcus Garvey died in London on June 10, 1940, reportedly after succumbing to the effect of two strokes attributed to his reading a false obituary of himself in a Chicago newspaper which stated, in part, that he died broke, alone and unpopular. His remains were interred at the Kensal Green Cemetery in London.

In 1964, his remains were exhumed and re-interred at the National Heroes Park in Kingston and he was named Jamaica's first national hero.

COREY TODD CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

Prominent American businessman Corey Todd is due in court next Tuesday facing a charge of assault regarding an incident with a Stone Love selector earlier this month.

Todd reportedly received a summons earlier this week to appear in Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court to answer the assault charge stemming from an altercation with Stone Loves Bill Cosby inside Club Riddim.

The incident took place while Cosby was performing his set during the weekly event, Swag Tuesdays inside the club. While Cosby was juggling, he played a series of Vybz Kartel songs including a song by Di Teacha that allegedly is a Corey Todd diss song. In an attempt to stop Cosby from playing the song, Todd is alleged to have dropped a cup then a banner on the Stone Love disc jocks head to gain his attention. When that failed, Cosby intimated that Todd then approached him with a box full of CDs; throwing them at Cosby who knocked away the box. However, Cosby suggested that he was in pain from the altercation.

Todd later admitted to an altercation taking place & that he did indeed drop a banner on Cosbys head but implied that the altercation was nowhere near physical. Nevertheless, Todd said that the Kartel diss song towards him sparked the incident & insisted that no Kartel diss songs or any diss songs in general should be played at any Club Riddim event as he attempts to change the atmosphere of the New Kingston based club.

Todd is the former business partner of Vybz Kartel, who he severed ties with after alleging the Dancehall Hero made threats on his life. Hes since teamed with Beenie Man to promote the new Yaad Swag rum brand & most recently signed Aidonia to a management contract. Aidonia will be the focal point of a marketing campaign for Todds latest drink, Yaad Stout which hits Jamaican shelves next week.
