Vybz Kartel a.k.a Addi the Teacha said he will not be clashing with Bounty Killer at Sting 2009 this year.

"No clash," he said in a short statement released through his publicity team on Christmas Eve.

"Who coming to see that can stay at home 'cause it nah go happen. Mi nah clash nobody this year."
Vybz Kartel will be backed by the Ruff Kut band during his Jamworld performance.

THE Warlord, Bounty Killer, says that despite rumours that Vybz Kartel is organising to have people present to boo him at Sting, this year hes working with the people.

Whatever the people want, I will give it to them. I am going to do my set and then ask the people what they want me to do to Kartel. If they say leave him I will, but if the people tell me to kill him, I will have no choice, Bounty told Splash, in reference to Kartels lyrical death. Truth is, I am confused by this peace thing. When peace was really being declared at West Kingston Jamboree, Kartel wouldnt come on stage until Bounty left the stage. So what is that saying? quizzed Killer.

Bounty, who was in a rather upbeat mood, described Kartel as desperate and pointed out that since he (Bounty) was a dinosaur and a relic, Kartel should not be so focused on him.

Last year he brought people to Sting to boo Mavado and word on the street is that he is planning to repeat that action this year with regards to me. But I really want to know if that is the dancehall they want to see? Bounty, whose real name is Rodney Pryce, questioned.

Emphasising that his ideal was not to clash with Vybz Kartel, Bounty said at the end of the day it was a matter of street cred and showing this generation that he is a far superior clash lyricist to Vybz Kartel.

I have been avoiding Kartel like the plague and the more I ignore his lyrics is the more he builds them. Last year, I said I was dealing with a big man ting and put down the clash vibes and people started saying Bounty is a punk. I made it known that I was carrying Mavado to Sting to clash with Kartel because the two of them are in the same league.

I have nothing to gain by killing Kartel, because Kartel is not a bigger artiste than Bounty. And furthermore he is not a gangster, clash artiste like Ninjaman and Cobra. Kartel is more like Beenie.

Just ask any selector how many times a Bounty Killer song win sound clash and mek man haffi lock off sound. And then ask them if any Kartel song can kill sound, Killer challenged.

Even Merciless, the worse-forless is more of a clash artiste than Kartel, Bounty declared, adding that he noticed that Merciless was trying to push himself into the Sting clash.

But I gave Merciless three strikes and he lost all three. Him go to prison and come back and still dont understand himself, Bounty observed.

In closing, he stated that he was going to Sting prepared for whatever I have to do.

Sting takes place on Saturday, December 26 at Jamworld in Portmore.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "They want to keep Knowles because Beyonce's parents didn't have any sons and they're keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don't produce any children themselves

Pizza Hut cheese is not just cheese, its silicone!

John Bunting details how Pizza Huts cheese supplier Leprino Foods uses a silicone-based industrial chemical in the patented manufacturing of Pizza Cheese

That chemical Polymethylsiloxane has no FDA approval for use as a food ingredient.

Polymethylsiloxane is sold by Dow-Corning as Antifoam FG 10 .

THIS MATERIAL IS APPROVED BY FDA FOR USE IN FOOD PLANTS ONLY AS AN ANTI-FOAMING AGENT FOR BOILER WATER.

In its patented manufacturing process, Leprino Foods liberally sprays Polydimethylsiloxane on cheese granules . Leprinos Pizza Cheese supplied to Pizza Huts contains about 900 parts per million of Polymethylsiloxane: 90 times higher residue concentration than FDA allows when Polymethylsiloxane is used as a boiler water anti- foaming agent.

Repeat: Polydimethylsiloxane has no FDA approval as a safe food ingredient. It is a violation of FDA rules to use an unapproved ingredient in human foods. Silicone is amazing stuff.

Muma of the dancehall, Lady Saw kept it clean for the large number of youngsters who turned out for the Barefoot party at Tropical Beach last Sunday night.

Rapper Soulja Boy could easily have stayed home, while Mavado's appearance at the 'Barefoot' party at Tropical Beach, Montego Bay, on Sunday night may have seen an exodus of 'Gazaites' to the 'Gully' side.

The talk on the lips of the hundreds who defied the thunderstorms in the west, just so Beenie Man, Lady Saw, Flippa Mafia, Soulja Boy, Vybz Kartel and Mavado could take centrestage at the fifth anniversary barefoot party states categorically, "Gully ruled supreme".

In a set, no less than 30 minutes long, Mavado had the mainly young crowd worshipping at his feet, some tugging on his pants, others ready to disrobe his bejeweled hand of its expensive diamond watch, while a large enough contingent of strong armed men stood watch.

private security guards

A count revealed four Jamaica Constabulary Force members, three private security guards and another group from the artiste's personal entourage.

But the need for strong security aside, Mavado was like a rock star drawing hit after hit from an impressive compilation of dancehall hymns choired by the majority in the crowd.

Distinguishing himself from the rest of the pack, Mavado brought a breath of fresh air to the event, placing involuntary shoes on the feet that needed covering at 'Barefoot 2009'.

From the wings, many who watched the scintillating performance were convinced that Vybz Kartel and the Portmore Empire could surpass the energy, but at 5:15 am on Monday when the leader of the Gaza pack exited the stage, they were prepared to sing, "Mavado Completely".

King of Dancehall, Beenie Man, usually a crowd favourite paled in comparison to his two counterparts, and that may have been caused by tiredness or the need for a new routine.

caustic tongue

Lady Saw tried to live up to her 'Ladylike' name by showing respect to the youngsters in the audience, and her performance eclipsed being lacklustre had she not endeared the crowd with 'recession, no free position' and 'Beggars Boy', using her caustic tongue to lash 'licky licky' men.

It was Soulja Boy that the large audience left home curious about, but he found it extremely difficult to deliver an unforgettable performance. In fact, his six foot tall, 300 lb bodyguards on stage, making up for his meager frame would have made more of an indelible mark than his Crank that Soulja Boy and Kiss me through the Phone songs.

For an event that started several hours late as a result of the rain, DJ Sky Juice's belly rolling antics created far more excitement and DJ Crazy Neil's class act will remain for years to come.

Others on the show included the talented six-year-old, Trish and her father, DJ Classical and Flippa Mafia, boasting a US$1,000 'Ace of Spade' bottle of champagne that he wasted onstage, while reneging on his promise to stop throwing money.

POPE HIT DOWN @ CHRISTMAS-EVE MASS-saka-

December 24, 2009

[video=http://us.cnn.com/video/?/video/world/2009/12/24/seg.vatican.mass.commotion.cnn]

(CNN) -- A woman jumped a barrier at the start of Christmas Eve Mass at St. Peter's Basilica and knocked down the pope, briefly disrupting ceremonies.

Screams erupted from onlooking worshippers when the woman ran toward Pope Benedict XVI and grabbed onto his vestments as he walked down the main aisle of the church, video footage showed.

He was quickly helped to his feet by his aides -- prompting cheers from the crowd -- and the service was resumed, Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi told CNN.

The woman was removed by Vatican guards, Lombardi said.

John Allen, senior Vatican analyst for CNN, said such security breaches aren't uncommon.

"As compared to say, the president of the United States, the security membrane around the pope is pretty thin and fairly permeable," he said, citing similar past incidents, including one that happened last Christmas Eve.

Allen said that generally, these disruptions are caused by people who aren't seeking real harm, but who want to be close to the pope.

Benedict began what has traditionally been a midnight Mass at the Vatican at 10 p.m. as officials sought to keep the 82-year-old pontiff from a late night.

Celebrants in Bethlehem, the traditional birthplace of Jesus in the West Bank, however, joined the Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal for a midnight Mass attended by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian officials.

Outside the Church of the Nativity, erected over the site Christian tradition says was the place of Jesus' birth, the faithful gathered under the watchful eyes of heavily armed Palestinian police.

But Palestinian shopkeeper Nadia Hazboun said the security situation in the West Bank has improved in the time since the militant Hamas group took over Gaza and Abbas' Fatah movement abandoned the narrow strip of land between Israel and the Mediterranean for the West Bank.

"It was bad, now it is good," he told Voice of America radio. "I told you, before anybody take the law in his [own] hands. But now the law [is] with the police. We have security, we have calm, we have now the best situation in Bethlehem."Were you there? Share pictures, video

Christmas Eve in Bethlehem is a popular destination for American Christians, including Iowan Paul Edelman.

"Just the festivities, the idea that this is the birthplace of Christ, and you get to see all the historic places and share it with people from around the world; it's a very nice experience," he told Voice of America radio.

Merciless - File

Dancehall artiste Merciless has again launched an avalanche of attacks on several of his colleagues, as the build up to Sting becomes more intense.

The deejay, who credits himself as a 'Warhead', is listed among several other top dancehall acts, who are expected to help make the event's 26th anniversary a memorable experience.

Sting, dubbed as 'the greatest one night reggae show on earth', is set to place at Jamworld, in Portmore, St Catherine, on December 26. And, Merciless has made it clear that he has no intention of being left out of the pecking order.

off the radar

"I'm ready, willing and waiting. From unnuh seh Sting is not a play thing," said the deejay, known for the songs such as Ole Gallis and Gizzada. A relatively successful year is one that the deejay, born Leonard Bartley, can also claim after temporarily being off the radar.

Now, with another appearance on what should be one of his favourite hunting grounds, Merciless is once again in warrior mode less than 48 hours before his potential date with destiny.

Just eight years ago Merciless was involved in a fierce 'lyrical battle' with dancehall heavyweights Bounty Killer, Beenie Man and Ninja Man, where many believed he came out victorious.

This has given him enough confidence going to Sting to duel with old and new nemesis. "Dem a wait pon December di 26th seh dem a wait pon Sting fi war, a cudda karaoke night or gospel fest crusade mi a bring di war," he said.

At last year's Sting, the deejay also went on a lyrical rampage and challenged several other artistes to join him onstage in a 'face-off'. However, it never materialised, as attentions were focused on the Mavado-Vybz Kartel 'clash'.

isn't too concerned

With questions marks over the possibility of whether or not Bounty Killer clashes Vybz Kartel, Merciless says he isn't too concerned of where the challenge comes from.

"When it come to Sting, Merciless seh anything a anything. A mi fuss pop di bees's wing and mek Sting's sting sting," he added.

Bounty Killer is adamant that he hasn't lost the touch of the 'Warlord', while both Vybz Kartel and Mavado are at a truce. This means, it's now more challenging for Merciless to get a 'clash'. But that has not stopped the deejay from throwing down the gauntlet and drawing the battle lines

"Anything goes. End of story," he said. Merciless also said that he's, by no means, out to cause any animosity as the current atmosphere- except for the Bounty-Kartel saga, is very much friendly, which means good for the future of dancehall music.

"I wouldn't mind a friendly clash because I have no animosity towards any artiste, but a new is coming and everyone has set there differences aside and trying to restore the art form of the music. The aim is to create a good vibes," he said.

FlippaMafia.jpg
The Flossing King Flippa Mafia, who should be in the island by now, is promising fans "nothing but the best" at Sting 2009, come Boxing Day, December 26.
"Sting," Flippa noted seriously, "is an experience."
He names last year's event as one of the highlights of his career, particularly since he was so well received, by the notoriously discriminating crowd, who has the reputation of making and breaking careers.
Flippa, who has set himself up as the man to watch' as it relates to any and everything to do with flossing,
Meanwhile, Flippa will also perform at the Jagra GT Taylor Christmas Extravaganza, which has arguably one of the best line-ups of the shows for the Yuletide season.
According to Flippa, he was more than happy to perform at this annual show and when he got the call from Irie FM disc jock, GT Taylor, he was more than ready to respond positively to the call.
"When you perform at a show on Christmas Day that is like giving fans a Christmas present, so it has to be good," Flippa said.
It was last weekend that Flippa had been scheduled to perform at three venues England. December 18, 19 and 20 should have seen the deejay in Manchester, Coventry and Bristol on a big bill that included the Gully God Mavado, Assassin and Serani.
However, due to no fault of the artistes, the shows did not work out as planned.
But Flippa is now back on Jamaica soil for Jagra GT Taylor's Christmas Extravaganza and the greatest one night show on earth, Sting.

"It will be flossing with a difference," he said.

A WOMAN has admitted breaching an Asbo banning her from having noisy sex THREE times once just hours after the ruling was made. Sex-mad Caroline Cartwright was given the four year anti-social behaviour order in April after HUNDREDS of complaints from neighbours about her deafening romps. Even the local postman and a woman taking her child to school complained about the levels of noise. The order was made to stop her from "making excessive noise" during the ear-splitting sex sessions with her husband Steve at their home in Concord, Washington, Tyne and Wear. But at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday the 48-year-old admitted breaching the Asbo on April 18, April 22 and April 26. Despite her guilty pleas, Judge Beatrice Bolton said Cartwright will not go to jail when she is sentenced on January 18. Judge Bolton said: "I'm certainly not going to pass an immediate custodial sentence but I am going to order a pre-sentence report. "This is not the usual sort of anti-social behaviour. "The reason why I am asking for a pre-sentence report is because it is such an unusual case and this is the first breach. "If it were to be a custodial sentence it would be suspended, I think, at this stage." Cartwright was granted bail to a hostel until the next court hearing Last month she appealed against the making of the Asbo order saying she is "powerless" to control herself during romps. The order was made by Sunderland Magistrates after she repeatedly breached a noise abatement notice made after more than 250 complaints from neighbours about her "shouting and screaming". Her grounds for appeal were that she is unable to control her vocalisation during lovemaking, and any attempt at restricting her behaviour is a breach of her human rights. But a judge, sitting with two magistrates, threw out her appeal and dismissed her claim she was unable to control herself, saying: "Frankly, we don't believe her."
Waterloo, Ont.-based Research In Motion (RIMM-Q67.22-2.48-3.56%) was working to fix its BlackBerry messaging systems Tuesday night after a range of service outages were reported in Canada and abroad.

Reports of e-mail delays began surfacing Tuesday evening, spreading through social networking websites.

The company confirmed Tuesday night that some "delays" are occurring throughout North and South America, and could offer no timeline for a resumption of full service.

"Some BlackBerry customers in the Americas are experiencing delays in message delivery. Technical teams are actively working to resolve the issue for those impacted," spokesperson Jamie Ernst said. "RIM apologizes for any inconvenience experienced by customers."

It appears that Internet browsing and BlackBerry messenger service was also affected, although telephone service was not interrupted.

A similar outage briefly delayed e-mail services in North America on the morning of Dec. 17. RIM said that issue had been resolved.

Later that day, the company released its better-than-expected third-quarter results, reporting a profit of $628.4-million, nearly double the figure from the year before. In a conference call, co-CEO Jim Balsillie praised the BlackBerry's secure platform for placing the device above the competition.

ti-tiny-licking-tongue.jpgCHICAGO (Billboard) - Rapper T.I. got an early Christmas present Tuesday after authorities released him from a federal prison in Arkansas nearly seven months into a 366-day term.

His attorney, Steve Sadow, told the website xxlmag.com that T.I.would report to a halfway house in the Atlanta area later in the day to begin a stay of two or three months.

T.I., 28, was arrested after trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents in 2007. That came after the rapper's best friend was killed following a party in Cincinnati in 2006. The rapper has said the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him.

buju-banton-lawyer.jpg
As the legal case is brought up against reggae superstar, Buju Banton, he's winning the court of public opinion as his recording label stands by its artist.

Gargamel Music Incorporated has announced loyal support for Banton, real name Mark Anthony Myrie, who was arrested December 10 on federal drug conspiracy charges.

"It's on and popping," Gargamel president Tracii McGregor explained to CaribWorldNews.com. "This is Buju and we're going to get him the top legal representation there is. We are ready to fight. I saw him yesterday and told him to go inward and preserve you."

The top legal aid will come in the form of David Oscar Markus. Markus is a well-known figure in high-profile drug cases including that of former Panama military dictator Manuel Noriega.

The Grammy-nominated reggae star whose latest album, "Rasta Got Soul" received a Grammy nod, was indicted last Tuesday (December 15) with two other men for allegedly attempting to distribute five kilograms of cocaine. Last Wednesday (December 16), Banton waived his bail hearing rights and will face trial in Tampa, Florida. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 20 years to life in prison.

Full Story Of Buju Banton Arrested On Drugs Charge In Florida

Today, the Tampa Tribune newspaper provided extensive alleged details on the Federal drug case against dancehall / reggae superstar, Buju Banton. Below weve provided excerpts from the original article (which can be viewed here), which reads something like the script from a movie (described by a police spokesperson), with Banton allegedly at one point tasting a sample [as if to test quality] from a one kilo package of cocaine. Notably, its apparent that Banton was not actually at the scene of the alleged final transaction which led to the arrest of his alleged co-conspirators. Article excerpts in italics below.

It was Tuesday afternoon when the silver Land Rover with the tag Jah One pulled up to La Tropicana de Havana restaurant in Sarasota, according to federal and local law enforcement agents who were staking out the restaurant.

Mark Anthony Myrie [Buju Banton], Ian Thomas and an unidentified woman got out of the SUV. They were there, authorities say, to purchase several kilos worth of cocaine.

The episode, they say, was recorded.

Inside the restaurant, Myrie and the woman met with a confidential source, according to a federal criminal complaint against Myrie, Thomas and Mack.

The confidential source told Myrie and the woman to go to another location which turned out to be an undercover warehouse to continue negotiations for a large amount of cocaine, There they met with an undercover Sarasota police officer who showed Myrie and Thomas a specially equipped vehicle that contained 20 kilos of coke in hidden compartments.

Myrie and Thomas went over to the vehicle, pulled out a kilo and placed it on a table. Thomas pulled out a knife and cut open the package of cocaine.

He handed the knife to Myrie, who wiped his finger on the blade and put his finger in his mouth in what appeared to be an attempt to taste the drug.

Myrie and Thomas continued to negotiate with the confidential source until about 3 p.m., when the two men left the undercover warehouse.

The next day, Thomas called the confidential source, trying to purchase 15 kilos of cocaine. They met at an Applebees restaurant in Sarasota, where Thomas told the source his organization wanted to purchase five kilos and, if there were no problems, would buy more cocaine later.

Thomas told the source another member of his drug organization was in the parking lot with about $125,000 in cash to buy the five kilos.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Thomas and the source left Applebees and met with James Mack, who was sitting in the drivers seat of a Honda sedan parked in the lot. Thomas and the source went back into the restaurant and continued negotiating.

At about 10:30 a.m. Dec. 10, Thomas and Mack drove to the undercover warehouse, where an undercover Sarasota officer saw Mack pull large amounts of cash from a hidden compartment in the rear drivers side of his Honda. After looking over the money, the undercover police officer gave a bag containing seven kilos of cocaine to Thomas and Mack.

As the men inspected the drugs, the undercover gave a signal and agents arrested Thomas and Mack.

Myrie was arrested in Miami.

All three men are charged with conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute. Mack and Thomas are being held in the Pinellas County jail with no bond set.

Myrie is being held in Miami with no bond set and is scheduled to have a first appearance in Miami later this week according to Steve Cole, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorneys Office in Tampa.

There may be more arrests to come, according to Sarasota Police Lt. Wade McVay.

We are still investigating, said McVay. The investigation extends to a lot of places. This is right out of a movie script.

Kartel has responded to Bounty Killer's scathing, raving interviewon ER last week Friday where the Killer made fun of Kartel's US visa problems and made accusations that Kartel was robbing money frommembers of the Portmore Empire.

Kartel has pointed out that Bounty Killer is merely upset that he has become an outdated dinosaur in anart form that he helped to make popular. Hence, the reason for Killer'sirrational anger and his 'bad-mindedness'.

"I remember when Killer said in an interview after I left Alliancethat 'Kartel ah go broke and him ah go suffer' but I guess karma is ahell of a thing. This is the second time that he is doing somethinglike this so I will say that I am not in the least disturbed by therecent slate of events in his 'pop-down' career. Dancehall isGaza-Gully with a sprinkle of 'Rasta Got Soul' and a dash ofdaaanccerrz, no Alliance," he said in statement released through hispublicity team.

T.I. Released from Prison and Sent to Halfway House in Atlanta

Rapper T.I. was released from federal prison Tuesday (Dec 22) and was sent to a halfway house in Atlanta where he will serve the remainder of his sentence, reports XXL Magazine.

XXL spoke with Tips lead defense attorney in his federal gun case, Steve Sadow, who confirmed the news. He was released this morning from his place of incarceration in Arkansas, Sadow said. As I understand it, hes on his way back to the Atlanta area. He has to report to a halfway house in Atlanta sometime this evening. And he will then spend somewhere between the next two or three months in a halfway house, ending his Buruea of Prison sentence.

According to Sadow, T.I. will have a lot more freedom under his new living conditions. A halfway house is more along the lines of a residential dormitory, he explained of the rap stars new stipulations. You live within this house that is broken into areas for living, and you are permitted to leave during the day for certain reasons of which would be employment, medical reasons, things of that nature, and you return to the halfway house in the evening. So its a restriction on your liberty but its a way for you to reenter into society and not be confined within a jail type institution 24-hours a day.

T.I. has been serving time in Arkansas Forrest City Prison since May 26, for possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers, as well as firearms from a convicted felon. He is expected to be finished with his federal sentence in March of 2010.

(CNN) -- Can Hewlett-Packard's motion-tracking webcams see black people? It's a question posed on a now-viral YouTube video and the company says it's looking into it.

In the video, two co-workers take turns in front of the camera -- the webcam appears to follow Wanda Zamen as she sways in front of the screen and stays still as Desi Cryer moves about.

HP acknowledged in a statement e-mailed to CNN that the cameras may have issues with contrast recognition in certain lighting situations. The webcams, built into HP's new computers, are supposed to keep people's faces and bodies in proportion and centered on the screen as they move.

The video went viral over the weekend, garnering more than 400,000 YouTube page views and a slew of comments on Twitter.

It was something neither Zamen nor Cryer expected to happen.

Zamen said she and Cryer, her co-worker, were playing around with the computer at work and testing it when they stumbled upon the facial recognition feature.

Cryer and Zamen said they were laughing when they realized the camera followed her and not him.

"We thought it was pretty funny, we thought it was hilarious," Zamen said.

So they made a video, which they planned to just share with friends on Facebook and YouTube. There was no script, no rehearsal, just two friends filming what they thought was a hilarious software glitch.

So again, the two took turns in front of the camera.

"As soon as my blackness enters the frame, it stopped," Cryer says in the video.

"Black Desi gets in there, no face recognition anymore, buddy," he says.

YouTube.com: Watch the video

"I think my blackness is interfering with the computer's ability to follow me," he continues.

But now that the video has gotten so much attention, the two co-workers want everyone, including HP, to know they never intended the video to spark a discussion about whether the webcam was racist.

Zamen said she liked the computer so much, she suggested Cryer get one for his wife.

"The intent was definitely not to go after HP, it just so happened the computer was an HP and we recognized the software glitch," Cryer said.

"We did it for laughs, but if the video does make HP put out a better product, then great," Zamen added.

HP was quick to react, too.

The company quickly posted on the it's blog, TheNextBench.com, on Sunday after the video went viral, responding to concerns.

"The technology we use is built on standard algorithms that measure the difference in intensity of contrast between the eyes and the upper cheek and nose," wrote Tony Welch, the lead social media strategist for HP's Personal Systems Group. "We believe that the camera might have difficulty 'seeing' contrast in conditions where there is insufficient foreground lighting."

TheNextBench.com: Read the statement on HP's blog

Meanwhile, Welch pointed users facing similar problems to HP's help page, which provides guidance on how to change the lighting or other optimization settings on the camera.

HP.com: See the HP help page

On Monday HP also told CNN in a corporate statement that the issue is most likely related to lighting, but they are looking into the situation further.

"HP has been informed of a potential issue with facial-tracking software. Consistent with other webcams, proper foreground lighting is required for the product to effectively track any person and their movements," the statement said. "As with all our products, we continue to explore refinements which help to optimize their use."

Cryer and Zamen said they've heard similar feedback from commenters online offering ideas on fixing the lighting.

The co-workers' video has also sparked others to try the product.

After media coverage of the YouTube video, Consumer Reports did its own testing of the product to see if the YouTube video portrayal was accurate.

ConsumerReports.org: Watch testing of the webcam feature

In standard lighting, the webcam didn't move with an African-American male as it did with a white male. But after lighting sources were added, the webcam was able to track the African-American male's face and movements.

$300 YouTube Video -Panic Attack- Leads to $30M Hollywood Deal

The story began on Nov 2009, when Fede Alvarez an Uruguayan director, uploaded a 4 minute video to YouTube about robots attacking Montevideo City, Uruguay.

With more than 1.5 million hits, the video attracted big Hollywood producers which offered Fede a $30 million contract to make a Hollywood film.

The video called, Ataque de Panico!, which means Panic Attack!, was made with a $300 budget.

[DOUBLE CLICK TO ENLARGE VIDEO]

When I read about this deal I went to YouTube and watched the video, and I can honestly say the video really warrants the attention.

From the first few seconds of the video, I thought I was watching a movie trailer for a new Steven Spielberg movie.

Sure the idea is not new, but the visual effects and the way this video was directed, blew my mind. In 4 minutes the city was attacked, buildings destroyed, people killed and at the end, a huge bomb made of many robots detonated and destroyed the rest of the city, possibly as much as the the country, or worse, even the whole world. You couldnt be sure, which adds to the illusion.

I really see big potential for Fede Alvarez and his team, and hopefully we will get to watch his new Hollywood film soon.

Dwight Howard Suing His Baby Mama (Again) For Posting Pictures Of Their 2-Year-Old Son On Twitter

Dwight Howards baby mama is gonna go broke messing with the Internet! The Orlando Magic star is suing Royce Lyndsay Reed, the mother of their 2-year-old son Braylon, once again. This time for $142,500! Reed broke yet ANOTHER order by posting pictures of Braylon on her Twitter account, which had 285 followers at the time.

According to documents filed by Howard and his attorney, Reed was ordered by a judge last year to refrain from posting photographs of Braylon on the Internet, whether it be a blog, a website, a message board, a social network, etc. The reason being that Howard thinks that posting pictures of the toddler on the Internet poses a significant security threat to the child due to him being a high-paid celebrity.

and all.

But where exactly does that $142,500 come from? A simple math equation. Royce, a former dancer for the Orlando Magic and the Miami Heat, is being sued $500 for each of her 285 followers, plus attorney fees.

Its a good thing she doesnt have more followers. Regardless, we think she needs to stay away from the Internet for a while since she obviously doesnt know how to use it without getting lawsuits hurled at her.

KINGSTON, Jamaica An American Airlines flight from Miami with more than 150 aboard overshot a runway while landing during a heavy rainstorm in Kingston Tuesday night, injuring more than 40 people, officials said.16_63_c320.jpgFlight 331 skidded across a road at Norman Manley International Airport and halted at the edge of the Caribbean Sea, apparently prevented from going into the water only by the upward slope of the sand. The nose of the jet was less than 10 feet from the water.
Some 44 passengers were taken to nearby hospitals with broken bones and back pains, Information Minister Daryl Vaz told The Associated Press. Four people were seriously injured, said Paul Hall, senior vice president of airport operations.

The plane's fuselage was cracked, its right engine broke off from the impact and the left main landing gear collapsed, said Tim Smith, an American Airlines spokesman at the company's headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. Most of the injuries were cuts and bruises and none were life threatening, though he had no details, he said.

The Boeing 737-800, which originated at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., had taken off from Miami International Airport at 8:52 p.m. and arrived in Kingston at 10:22 p.m. It was carrying 148 passengers and a crew of six, American said. The majority of those aboard were Jamaicans coming home for Christmas, Vaz said.Norman_Manley_International_Airport.jpgThose getting off the plane were bleeding, mostly from the upper parts of their bodies.

Passenger Pilar Abaurrea described a chaotic scene when the plane hit the ground with a loud crash skidded along the runway.

"All of a sudden, when it hit the ground, the plane was kind of bouncing, someone said the plane was skidding and there was panic," Abaurrea of Keene, N.H., said in a telephone interview.

As the crew opened the emergency exits and people scrambled to get off, 62-year-old Abaurrea and her husband, Gary Wehrwein, noticed a number of people with injuries, including one person who had a cut on his head from falling baggage.

Abaurrea said she had pain in her neck and back from the impact and her husband had pain in a shoulder from falling luggage, but were otherwise unhurt. "I'm a little bit shook up but OK," she said
.20091223111439647621_5.jpgAbaurrea said the flight was very turbulent, with the crew being forced to halt the beverage service three times before finally giving it up. Just before landing, the pilot warned of more turbulence but said it likely wouldn't be much worse than what they had experienced so far, she said.

Smith said it was too soon to provide details about the precise of the extent of the damage to the aircraft.

The airport has not reopened because of concerns that the plane's tail might be hindering visibility, Security Minister Dwight Nelson told Radio Jamaica.

Some 400 passengers were waiting for their flights to be cleared for takeoff, he said.capt.ac036baebe6940549ecbe3779b68abb6.flight_overshoots_runway_ny111.jpg?x=400&y=300&q=85&sig=V9zZpmPdYmzum34balMf4A--

According to witnesses at the scene ... Aguilera was riding shotgun in her own Range Rover -- which was being driven by her assistant -- when her SUV rear-ended another vehicle. As you can see in the photos of Aguilera's SUV above, the damage is minor -- we're also told no one complained of injuries.

Aguilera left the scene with her bodyguard shortly after the accident -- her assistant stayed behind with the SUV.

Merciless answers Bounty's call

After Bounty Killer sent out the warning for Sting, set for this Saturday at Jamworld in Portmore, it seems that deejay Merciless has answered the call.

According to a release sent to THE STAR, Merciless is ready to rise to the challenge at Sting and slaughter anything in sight.

It was only last year that Merciless went on the attack after a brief hiatus from the business, striding on the Sting stage in his general gear and declaring to the delight of fans, "Howdy, how the battlefield look so crowdy."

While his call for lyrical war went unanswered last year, it seems this Sting, Merciless is ready and waiting for all challengers. In the release, the deejay said, "I am ready to take on the Killa at Sting but I am not sure he is up to the challenge since it come in like him turn into Mavado backup artiste now."

It was only last week that Bounty Killer, through various media, announced that he was on the warpath and was quoted as saying: "Warlord on the attack again, full suit a black again, nuh body nuh badda dan we, Alliance wi name, all a dem a mi pickney dem."

And in THE WEEKEND STAR, Sting Boss Isaiah Laing hinted at a possible four-way clash similar to the 2002 clash of Merciless, Ninja Man, Bounty Killer and Beenie Man. This time the clash would be among Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer, Merciless and Mavado.

Laing said in the release: "The battlefield is going to get very dusty, I am not sure if any of the challengers will be able to walk away without crutches, this is getting very serious."

The exchange of words between deejays Merciless and Cobra has been reignited following Cobra's response to comments made by Merciless in a release sent out recently.

In a statement sent to THE STAR yesterday, Merciless, who is known for recent songs such as Amber Alert and Letter to Ma Momma, had disparaging things to say about Cobra and a possible clash at Sting.

Merciless said: "I am not clashing with Cobra at Sting this year because he is not in my league. He hasn't had a hit song since 1994. I am singing songs that are socially relevant. Him ah focus more on managing his buses dem on the Portmore route. I am ready to take on the Killer at Sting but I am not sure he is up to the challenge since it come in like him turn into Mavado backup artiste now."

kartel yard boy

The sharp-witted deejay Cobra, after hearing Merciless' comments, was quick to respond with: "A wha do Kartel yard boy?"

"You can let Merciless know that I'm still waiting on the two passport-size pictures, his TRN and a letter from a good JP (justice of the peace), 'cause I still have some taxis that need drivers and some buses that need conductors. I hear that his taxi got write off."

Regarding his so-called lack of hit songs, Cobra who recently released songs such as Buss It and Dash Weh, added: "Since when he (Merciless) had a hit? I have a slew of hits that live on and can still be played in the dancehall today. If he believes the letter he claims he wrote to his mother is a hit, it don't connect, cause his mother never wrote him back."

Last year, Cobra in an interview with THE STAR, discussed Merciless who had sent out word to Bounty Killer and Cobra, among others, but the deejay was not impressed. Cobra said Merciless, who was trying to make a comeback into the music business at the time, should consider entering 2008's Digicel Rising Stars competition.

In the interview Cobra said: "To me, him come back as an angry, sorry man. And the ting is now, me can more than answer. Naa answer him, because me no count Merciless as a top contender, as a man fe follow up. 'Cause if you follow up now, it come in like you a force water fe go over hill,"

Meanwhile, Merciless has been confirmed for a number of shows including his first performance in Portland at the Crystal Springs Family Fun Day as well as Sting, among other shows.

Rapper T.I.., shown here at his final countdown concert, was released from prison on Tuesday

(CNN) -- Rapper T.I. was released from prison on Tuesday after seven months, his attorney confirmed.

The performer, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., will serve the remainder of a reduced sentence in a correctional center near Fulton County Airport in Atlanta, Georgia.

Harris was sentenced to a year and a day in March 2009 resulting from weapons charges related to purchasing machine guns and silencers.

Officials charged him with providing a bodyguard with $12,000 to buy weapons.

In May, he reported to a federal prison complex in Forrest City, Arkansas, to begin serving his sentence.

In addition to serving prison time, T.I. was placed on house arrest, given community service and was ordered to pay a $100,300 fine.

It was not the first time the platinum-selling artist had been in trouble with the law.

Harris was not permitted to own any guns because he had been convicted in 1998 on felony drug charges, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, in Cobb County in suburban Atlanta.

After the rapper's arrest, he entered a plea agreement, which federal authorities called unique because it allowed him to remain out of prison for a year while he performed.

Steve Sadow, Harris' attorney, said prisoners with Harris' sentence are eligible for a 54-day sentence reduction for good behavior.

Harris is expected to remain at the halfway house for three months and will still be required to finish serving slightly less than 500 hours of community service and about 23 days of home incarceration.

Before reporting to prison, Harris threw himself a going-away party/concert attended by thousands at Philips Arena in Atlanta.

TEENage: What are the other current projects Equiknoxx is working on?
Equiknoxx: The main focus right now is on our flagship artiste Lil Joe. He is very versatile as he sings, deejays and raps. You can hear all of this on his mixtape Nah Nuh Mercy. We also did the new Aidonia and Federation mixtape called Bolt Action, which is getting acclaim abroad. Also, look out for the live instrumental riddim we spoke about earlier and our new Juggling riddim, Camera Trick riddim, which will be soon released. Lil Joe, Aidonia, Elephant Man, Chino, Laden, Leftside, Tifa, Charley Blacks, Christopher Martin, D Major, and Mr Peppa are going to be on the Camera Trick riddim.
TEENage: Speaking of Aidonia, Equiknoxx seems to work frequently with him. Where did that link come from?
Equiknoxx: From way back unuh, we used to all go to DJ Stretch studio in Vineyard Town and do demos there. We've done Aidonia songs such as Nowadays Girl, I Like Her, Hundred S**b and Summer Girl, with Christopher Martin, which is supposed to be on the Aidonia album.
TEENage: What would be considered the biggest hit produced by Equiknoxx?
Equiknoxx: Busy Signal's Step Out because it made it on the Billboard charts.
TEENage: Who are the international acts you've worked with?
Equiknoxx: Styles P & BL, Del La Ghetto's track with Mavado called Come Out and See and Bajan singer Shontelle's Drop Di Needle.
TEENage: Any dream artistes you'd wish to work with?
Equiknoxx: Jay-Z, Shabba Ranks, Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Fabolous , Jr Gong, Andre 3000.
TEENage: How would Equiknoxx's music be classified?
Equiknoxx: Versatile. We can do pop, indie, dancehall, basically all genres, once it can be conceptualised. We never try to listen to what's out there as we always try to come different.
TEENage: How big of a role do you think online marketing has in music today?
Equiknoxx: It's the best bang for the buck as it is cost-efficient and gives easy access to foreign markets. Digital sales also account for most of the music sales today.
TEENage: But wouldn't you say that it's hurting the industry also, especially music sales overall?
Equiknoxx: Yes, the sales are being hurt as the market is being flooded with music online thus the demand is less, but good music is good music and people will always support it. Artistes will now have to rely on traditional means to earn, such as live performances, as the sales continue to decrease.
TEENage: What does Equiknoxx think about the current state of dancehall?
Equiknoxx: If we work together it can take over mainstream and be better but, if not, the music will remain stagnant. People need to drop their ego at the door.
TEENage: What advice does Equiknoxx have for upcoming artistes and producers?
Equiknoxx: Follow your dreams and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. When you are at your lowest you can only go up. Be a leader, not a follower. Understand that it takes hard work and to make it is a challenge. Young artistes especially need to know you have to pay your dues and have a willingness to learn as this industry is not a nine-to-five it is 24/7.
TEENage: Where does each of you see Equiknoxx in the next five years?
Equiknoxx: Couffee: On top of the music game pioneering a new generation of artistes.
Gavin: Doing the music scores for films.
Bobby: As music genres continue to get blurred, we will be leading that new genre.
Brent: More known as a household name and the next upcoming sound will be called Equiknoxx as is to reggae.
TEENage: Gully or Gaza?
Equiknoxx: All laughs!

buju-banton2.jpgWhile Buju Banton faces a charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine. His Grammy nomination is also under attack by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance.

LGBT requested that Buju's nomination should be withdrawn from the Best Reggae Album category, but this time around, victory went to Rasta Got Soul after they got some shocking news from The Recording Academy.

In the short statement, the Recording Academy defended its selection say: "The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Awards have a long history of supporting freedom of speech and creative expression, and of supporting artists and the music they create. Artists of a variety of political or cultural perspectives have been nominated or featured on the telecast, despite protests and backlash. ... The GRAMMY Awards is a celebration and recognition of outstanding musical achievement by music makers, regardless of politics, and that will continue to be our mission."
